Here's the thing I love the most about NeO. For most metal bands the song would start at around the 5:00 mark. Just straight up start slamming it on, no time to waste. But don't worry, they'll throw in an obligatory guitar solo after the second chorus to have some "instrumental". Not NeO. They'll take their time. Is the instrumental intro necessary for this to be a song? No, the intro isn't necessary. The second half of Pyrrhic isn't necessary. The middle of Tapestry of the Starless Abstract isn't necessary. You could take it out and it would still be a song. But you'd miss out on the best music you've ever heard. It's necessary for the art. NeO doesn't tick off checkboxes, they create beauty.

I just found out NeO had a new record out the other day and right off the bat, your bass performance almost raised the hair on my arms. If I'm being totally honest, there were a few moments throughout that almost brought me to tears. You are not a familiar name to me at all and I am very happy to finally hear another stellar bass player for the first time. It took me hours to pick my jaw up off the floor.
