I have that Dragon Circle Star, and as you showed, it's great on the soft targets, not on the hard. It's more "slicy" than "sticky". The playing cards, which I've also tested, better in the foam than the wood targets.

The card shuriken, since the bevel is one sided and also the way you where positioned you have to throw the actual playing card facing yourself, if you want it to go a bit to the right and get that edge to stick otherwise it will just bounce. That’s my opinion hope to get some feedback on that one. Great vid like always 🤘🏼 It might take a few tries on such dense wood. It would just be better to be as thin as a playing card with a small bevel on both sides Tbh!

I remember back in the early 80s, probably '82 or '83, my best friend and I were into the Chinese weapons just for fun. There was a store in Hamilton Ohio that we used to go to once in awhile when we'd go down to visit his grandmother and we'd bought some Nunchaku's there. Later we each got a few throwing stars to mess with. He wanted the cheaper stars that were basically stamped steel with the sharpened points, like 6 or 7 points and I wanted a couple of the heavier 4 and then about a 7 pointer with nicely sharpened points. They had a huge white barn that we'd throw them at and practice. The heavy 4 point star took some practice to get consistent with but they were a lot of fun. Surprisingly those stamped steel stars actually were pretty easy to stick and stuck pretty well even though they were light weight. You just need to get a variety and practice with them and a little time will tell what their strong points are and their weaknesses.

The rounded dragon shuriken would be a very sharp cutting weapon, and would likely stick deep into a human if hit on exposed flesh, but these shuriken are not meant to be thrown into wood, they are meant to be thrown at soft human flesh. I would like to see differences between heavier throwing stars and lighter throwing stars and how the technique varies. Cuz I have a medium weight throwing star and I still have to kind of lightly throw it. And I'm wondering how that would differ from a heavier throwing star. Cuz it seems you can throw two easier than one because of the weight is heavier and so you don't have to watch your strength as much
@Karatemart2 жыл бұрын
That’s an interesting question, Chance! What I’ve personally found with stars is that the strength you use to throw them varies more on what the target is made of than how heavy the star is. I throw them all with a lot of force, but sometimes if my target is too cushioned or bouncy, I need to throw them lighter. Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!

Ninja ninja stars are illegal wherei i live do know of any other good ninja throwing weapons?
@Karatemart3 жыл бұрын
Hi Marna! You’re right, throwing stars are illegal in many areas. There are other throwing weapons like knives, spikes and axes, but you’d have to check your local laws on those as well. Thanks so much for watching!

Cool stars, but I would not be destroying a wing chun dummie. Couldn’t you find a piece of wood or a tree trunk?
@Karatemart2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jake! I explain the wing chun dummy in some of my other videos. That specific dummy is a defective one that is about 10 years old. I’ve been using it in my videos for about 10 years and it keeps getting worse and worse. Thanks so much for watching!

I am ASSUMING, like with SINGLE BEVEL ARROW HEADS, the SINGLE BEVEL actually twists as they go in, causing a bigger wound channel that won't close as easily. Makes more of an S shape wound rather than a straight cut

@@Karatemart Hey Maybe you could answer a Quick Question, Why did they OUTLAW JAPANESE ORIGINAL KATANA'S from being SOLD in AMERICA?
@Karatemart3 жыл бұрын
@@TyrantExterminator1776 that’s a great question. I’m not sure of the exact answer, but I know there are strict laws in Japan about ordinary citizens owning swords, so I have a feeling it has something to do with that.
