I just watched the PBS documentary on country music by Ken Burns. I had no idea how talented Marty Stuart was from such a young age. That documentary gave me a whole new appreciation for him as a musician. This video just showcases that ability, thank you very much for posting.

Marty clearly loves every aspect of playing and performing. Clearly loves practicing mandolin and guitar. You don’t get this good ~ and get better ~ unless practicing nourishes your soul. I’ve seen videos of him grinning at other musicians, just checking out their technique likely to learn something new, enjoying making music, working hard doing it. I get it.

You are correct. Ervin Rouse was born September 19, 1917, just east of what was then the unincorporated community of "Fort Barnwell" in Craven County, NC. He left home for NY at age 8, and moved to Miami in 1938.
