But simple question for the women in your life when they say you don't need another guitar. Just ask them what is a sensible number of shoes to own? Then they try to point out the cost of shoe's compared to your guitars but by then you can already be on reverb bidding on your next guitar and invoking the husband hearing.

This brings back memories of my first semester at Berklee College of Music. And by the way, the male to female student ratio was 17 to 1. I heard Keith Richards in an interview say you should start with just the guitar, no effects, no fancy gear. That helped me enormously. Also Eddie Van Halen said that his playing style is originally based in the fact that he couldn’t afford pedals and such, so he developed other ways to make the guitar sound and perform as he wanted.
