I got it from NEXA on the say day I want the car. Do research and hard work, you may also get the car. Check with all the dealership. They may have car. Its worth waiting for this car. This car gives you a royal feeling. Like you are in a big carrrrrrrr. Its pickup is superb. Its breaking is best. Lots of space.

if you want only fuel efficiency go for it but for nothing else , after an internship experience in maruti i would not recommend buying it cause there is a lot of cost cutting in safety of maruti cars, there are major cross beams, crumple zones missing in indian spec baleno which are present in euro spec model(which is being exported to european countries from india), baleno have higher fuel efficiency then others because of these cost cuttings (this includes many other maruti cars including swift),these cars do have a lot of deformation in during crash test that should only be the front portion of the car(crumple zones) but it does extends up to the passenger compartment in which case the car dashboard comes towards the passenger(weak A pillar)during crash and in that case there is no use of airbags as the person will be crushed but to increase fuel efficiency they have to reduce weight and safety is compromised with fuel efficiency (even the engine manufacturer for maruti ,FIAT does not claim fuel efficiency more then 22 kmpl in their cars if they could why won't they claim more then maruti because some manufacturers do not compromise with safety ) I would chose VW,FIAT ,FORD,SKODA any day cause "jaan he to jahaan he"

Seriously, 200 kg lighter than the elite i20? That is really disconcerting to know. The only way you can reduce weight without compromising on body stiffness is by using composite materials which at this end of the price range is definitely not possible. So it's safe to assume that Maruti have gone for thinner sheet metal compromising on cabin intrusion in crashes leading to a highly unsafe crash structure. The fact that they have gone in for the lower powered fiat diesel engine accentuates the possibility that the chassis simply can't manage such kind of power. The car has already created a flimsy build conception in my mind.

The platform on the Baleno features a lighter shell with an aluminium and steel composite shell (I think). with aluminium being lighter and stronger than steel, weight is shaved off. this aids fuel efficiency

The baleno is not very photogenic, but the top end variant in the flesh looks striking(the larger size also helps)...sure the design is a mature and conservative one but tends to grow on you.Interiors are gud but may not be top notch ,still they are again very good in the flesh(all black interiors cannot be portrayed very well in videos)...and some old plastics(but cabin is very ergonomical)...but come to driving...that area impressed me a lot (didnt drive the diesel,drove the petrol)...feels quite stable and almost punchy...keeps in a constant powerband.As usual in suzukis,a great steering wheel and good driving characteristics.Ride quality in the petrol variant is quite gud too,though the weight of the car is the least,it feels planted and gives confidence.Great package from maruti,sure the design will soon blend to be one among the many,but for families concerned... a great buy.And you get the granted perks of owning an marutisuzuki(the service and cheap spareparts..etc.).....Great value package,cant blame suzuki.

Baleno is the best car Maruti's made in a long time. I've having a great time using it for over a year. Leg Room is the best I've seen and I weigh over 100 kg but fitting 2 along with me is pretty cool even on high journeys. But the best thing is it's safety features in my model which is 2nd (Delta) and I got it for 6.65 lakh Abs ebd 2 Airbags Automatic climate control Bluetooth system Great driver's display 339 litres boot capacity which is best .

Why to launch a new car with the same old engine (as used by swift) when all the craze was for the 1.0 L boosterjet engine. IMHO the looks are good enough ,keeping them on side for a min. What i am really impressed is Maruti did not compromise on Safety by Providing "ABS and Airbags" as default across all variants is a Thumbs up for me (because i've seen accidents with speeds @60km/hr damages the car pretty bad and causing serious injury to the drivers and the front passengers). @Autocar India - A nice review though but bad selection of location :S.......

So I watched this video a few months back when I was about to book my baleno top spec petrol. There was a lot of controversy surrounding the safety offered in this car and regarding the cabin quality but I did went ahead a bought one. Now, it has been 3 weeks and almost a 1000km of driving done on my car and I guess i may help answer few common questions a lot of commenters down below may have in mind. *Mileage: frankly i live in Delhi and commute daily to my college with the a/c mostly blasted on, yes even in winters. The average i get is anywhere between 16-17 almost all the times at my driving condition and by following the gear shift indication. I did got an average of 22 once when i took the car on highway, and yes I was delighted by the sight of it as even my diesel ecosposrt fails to give such figures on highway. *Overall driving- if u compare it with polo then no, this car is not much of a treat but if i compare my older version of i20 not the elite one, then yes this picks up much faster and really zooms away because of its light body. I was able to achieve 120 on the highway easily. IMPORTANT NOTE- I have heared a lot of people complaining about the breaking and suspension, when i took this car out of the showroom, the first week i was almost disappointed by the way the car breaks and how it failed to absorb the shocks at the potholes, BUT after u have given the car 2 weeks it adjust itself and you really get a responsive break system, not as powerful as sudden and jerky but somewhat swift.

+Akshay chavan Okay, so first things first. The looks, the comfort of the seats and the legroom in this car is superb. I see heads turned up when i drive past a traffic light with my top model and the lovely DRLs. BUT, Performance wise, this car is not much of a treat from someone who traded his old 1.2 magna petrol i20 2009.I was expecting so much more out of this car, maybe because of its light weight, this car seems not very well planted on road like a polo or an i20 but however it gives a great sense of handling on high speeds which again after 140 KMPH, the car starts to vibrate much. Lastly, The suspensions, which i feel could have been better. My parents who sometimes sit in the back row of the car complain that the car doesn't feel that comfortable while moving over the potholes and bad roads in Delhi and therefore it is dissapointing to see how after spending 8 lacks of my parents money, i can't get any appreciation from my dad who btw drives a ford ecosport. According to him the car is too light and plastics are too cheap, which I myself feel. The plastics used in a "premium car" are not so premium and will remind u of lower maruti models. The review above is totally my own opinion and understanding of the car from a owners perspective who has done almost 7000KM with the car in past 5 months. One more thing i would like to add is, I am 6 feet tall and have sat in both the driver's seat as well as the back row. I literally cant understand why people are complaing about the headroom. The driver's side seat in my alpha model is adjustable and i have never felt the head bruising against the ceiling.

I would like to inform that baleno is much lighter than i20. Though it got 84ps of power but due to it's lighter weight baleno can definitely take over i20. In addition to this, I would recommend you to go with petrol variant as it fits best for the city conditions and perform a good job on highways. Rather, diesel variant is bit more noisier also it takes more than 2k rpm to come into action.

As am considering this as first car please give some valid reasons why i should not opt for this one , except for the reason that its a 'Maruti Suzuki' ! +Sumeet Darade why are you considering suzuki over hyundai? most of the people buy suzuki cuz they cannot afford anything else. If you have got money go for i20 first of its the best looking among the three choices you have provided. its the same car hyundai used in there 2015 rally championship, google it youll be surprised to see how gorgeous it looks. I would not recommend jazz just cuz its an ugly car. I would have preferred a honda engine over hyundai but like i said looks also matters to me. Hyundai's Kappa engine is quite refined with direct fuel injection, Dual cam Variable valve timing. suzuki stands least in the engine refinement there k series engines are disaster.

+Libin Lazar I was considering suzuki over hyundai because after some research i learnt that hyundai services were not good compared to suzuki ! correct me if i am wrong ! and i think it also takes a lot of time for hyundai to delver the car , sometimes even a month or so. i20 and baleno have almost similar ex-showroom pricing(top end petrol) so money is not an issue. Another thing i considered was fuel efficency which is better in baleno. Rest of the feature list is almost similar i guess ! i will re-think ! waiting for baleno's ncap crash test to check the built quality.

I'm not quite sure about the Hyundai servicing in India as I live in Canada but here in Canada or north america is quite good. We dont have suzuki here anymore as they went bankrupt in north america just cuz of their crappy cars. fuel efficiency I would think wont be that much of a difference... and Hyundai is on the top ten list of forbes best automobile manufacturers in the world. Offcourse decision is yours good luck with the purchase.

"Review after using it for 1 year" I bought Baleno Alpha model fully automatic in the year 2019. Had faced two breakdowns so far (WITH IN A YEAR OF PURCHASE & kms is less that 9500) 1.Rear tyre burst-entire side wall of tyre was damaged. (kms less than 7000) 2.Fuel pump failure. These issues are frequently faced issues by baleno customers . Have not received any proper response for the complaint.Know i regret buying the car !!! I feel the exteriors are good but the interiors and the engine need to be worked upon. Maruti has clearly done a trade-off on engine performance and the interiors. They really need to improve on the above 2 areas if they wish to compete with Hyundai and Honda and demand premium price.

For all the Maruti fans out there please keep in mind that this is not Maruti Suzuki...It's Just the Suzuki Baleno...No where in the boot it's mentioned as Maruti Suzuki unlike any other models like Swift or even the Ciaz for instance. Everything now sold under NEXA is purely SUZUKI ONLY and no where it's part of maruti from now on. Nexa is purely for Suzuki. I doubt even the service will be seperated from maruti in near future. All reviews i have been watching reads as MARUTI SUZUKI. Even in +Autocar . Think wise before you bet your money on this. which i'm right now.

Its a premium hatchback, so it is always better to spend your money on a premium hatchback with all luxury than on a budget sedan with limitations, obviously a new car and going to be a dominating model on Indian roads for another decade like the swift. Dzire compared to baleno is an awkward looking model even though performance is good. It is always better to buy an Indian car, which is well suited for Indian roads and the maintenance cost is very low.

Well both car are really very nice but both of them have some pros and some cons 1. Punto is powerful than Polo. 2. Polo has german technology which is the best. 3. Polo has the stability. 4. Punto has 5 speed manual transmission and polo has 7 speed automatic DSG gearbox which is a dual clutch gerabox which makes polo more quick, responsive and very refine feel 5. Polo has macPherson strut suspension gives a very comfortable and absorbs bumps and ditches very easily and will give the confident while driving it at high speed 6. Punto seat and not that comfortable as polo and there is big gap between the tyres and wheel arch which reduces stability while driving at very high speed if you only want power you can opt for Punto but if you want technology and comfort and a quick gearshift and a better acceleration then you should go for polo all the best

From personal experience I can say that the cost saving design principles of Baleno is leaving consumers in a very unsafe car. Simple thing, the brake oil pipe simply hangs between the engine box and the wheels. This makes a critical component like this naked to a single flying stone! This has happened to me and getting it changed is a big time paid that lasted 4 days!

Sourav Chauhan Sir, if u want everything u have to spend a little more & a mini compact suv will be a better choice than a hatchback in hilly areas. Go for Ford Ecosport blindly. It's an unbelievable car. Good ground clearance, best mileage, great suspension, superior handling, ride quality, excellent durability & most importantly at high altitudes like himachal pradesh Ecosport is an ideal choice.

Maruti should seriously think of making their cars more attractive for the prices that they are sold. From a layman's point of view and the laid back approach of a semi urban or rural customer (where higher priority is given to aesthetic appeal and the money you pay) I can not come up with a reason to opt for baleno or s cross over a mid variant diesel ecosport.

+vivek n ecosport lacks good after sales, extremely cramped interiors and poor resale value interiors are better in ecosport but not by much especially since head unit cannot be changed easily in ecosport

good things : car play ( though an app thing ) mid screen in top trim size & dimensions I think it's lot better than swift due to its roominess, everything else feels ordinary especially the design up front , grille looks like a Nissan,may be its easy to paste a Nissan badge n export it like A- star in the past, mirrors look like an after thought on the door shoulders, due to the black piece on window frame corner, so is the chrome lip on boot ,looks out of place & reverse cam feels like an after market . might have takers through nexa or whatever , but now I can't find any reason for some one to pick up a s-cross from the same showroom ,when this thing would priced much lower than it! since looks better than s-cross ,same rooomy feeling , similar power to weight ratios, similar drives, petrol option & a new gen car not an old gen car like scross. cheers maruti bichu

I currently own Baleno for the past two years. The steering is too light and requires excessive turning in city speeds also. The engine is quiet and refined but the cvt gearbox becomes jittery over time and lets the car down. Build quality is bad. Maruti is ripping off customers and people buy the car just because of the brand. Please don’t buy this you will regret it
