I like the 'make the fanboys wait' strategy. I dont hate any of these people, or know them for that matter, but its becoming a market where we have made listening a crime, and that also leads to somehow every vehicle on any channel being rated with nice words and the negativity lifted out so as to not offend anyone. It has become personal for the viewer apparently, "how dare you rate my vehicle badly". There's a difference between a product and an individual's decision to purchase it 🤷♂️. I'd love everyone to converse, but thats a 2 way street, not respecting the one way. For example, I loved the response of that person who wrote to you in your podcast, about how his father and he fell in love with the cb350. There was no hate there, there was an experience to be shared.

I just don't like the direction where Maruti is headed. I drove my friend's baleno and i also test drove the swift(new). The baleno is the better product in every way and it's available at a great price too. I don't get why people would go for the swift or the dzire when the baleno is that great under 10 lakhs. Maruti needs to have some dzirability into their products.

I’m sorry but the baleno is not as fun to drive as the swift. It’s got more body roll, the steering is less precise and the engine does not feel as enthusiastic as the swift’s.

@alileevilСағат бұрын
@@ajayrathore8704 Get your hands on the Swift on a twisty road and you will feel the difference. The chassis is stiff which means the car feels like its turning around a point. The steering is quite direct and precise and above 2.5k RPM, the engine has a sporty tone to making it a joy to listen to. The only downside is that the new engine lacks torque at RPMs < 1k, which can make it challenging to start from an incline. The exported one comes with a mild hybrid system to circumvent this, but the Indian one sadly does not.

9:43 Exactly, Think of it this way, Suppose one bought a Maruti hatchback, he loved it had a great time, he liked the fundamentals; but got bored or something and now wants an upgrade. Because he's having a very hasslefree and Reliable experience he then upgrades to a Maruti SUV say Brezza. Now, what he observes is, "Oh it's got the same steering wheel, ok great! Oh same speedometer too, oh same climate control panel, same instrument console? Oh okay. Ah Same door handles? God please! And the list goes on and on. And now he has realised ki I've just got more ground clearance and nothing else 😂.

Regarding fuel efficiency 1. India's avg per capita income is still below 3 lakhs. 2. Air pollution goes down if Fuel efficiency increases 3. Imports go down if Fuel efficiency increases. 4. No one would sell a car if Fuel efficiency is terrible as depreciation hits them harder (and not because they don't care about Fuel efficiency). 5. I agree there is a small segment for whom FE doesn't matter. They choose sportier engine cars. But that segment is still small. India's overall car penetration is also low

Yes like Karthik said this Z series three cylinder engine is the building block for future hybrid - series hybrid engines etc etc but they should have first introduced this engine on the models like the Celerio or the Wagon R. This would have helped to retain the refined 1.2 four cylinder on models like the Swift and the Dzire as long as possible. The kink on the bumper to house the turn indicators doesn't look good. The drls should have doubled as the turn indicators on the higher trims. The projector headlights on the lower trims don't look cool enough. Neither the Spresso or the Ignis should get this suspension. It is the upcoming micro suv code named Y43 that should get this suspension.

I love my car but rationally thinking abt E20, BS7, better safety equipment, higher seating position both for parents and my wife (who is just learning to drive and has to guess the bonnet) plus routine repairs like brake pads, suspension and tires in Baleno prompts me to think of upgrading. Regarding the Fuel Efficiency vs Enthusiastic Driving: The enthusiast market is so low that almost anyone catering to that market can't make it. I'm happy that some companies are still catering to the niche market. However, It's always better to have good fuel efficiency considering the Indian dependency on the Import of Fuel, the high number of people who can't afford 4-wheelers and for environment. We have very high taxes on cars & fuels, so we should try to get as much as possible from our investment in mobility

I get that focusing more on 5 stars makes us not have a discussion on learning to drive safe. BUT, having a 5 star rated car is like an insurance and insurance is for unexpected events, which you can never dream of. That is the reason why helmets are mandatory and Dual channel abs, traction control are supposed to be mandatory. You having phenomenonal skill has got nothing to do with your survival in the event of a crash or an oil spill on a rainy day and your bike loosing control. Just like an arai helmet is going to give me the mental comfort of safety, a 5 star rated car is going to do the same and we should be hyped up about a mass manufacturer giving 6 air bags and 5 star safety as standard. It's like an arai helmet is automatically on your head everytime you ride a bike, you don't need it in most rides and yes you having better skill will reduce your crashes, but when you do crash, you are happy that there is an helmet on your head that auto applied on you. Tomorrow if there is a tech that automatically had your head wrapped in an air bubble as you hit something, just like helite turtle, it is true that the skill is going to make a difference, in preventing such an event in the first place. But now that you are in a crash your chances of surviving have gone up. I do not understand why shumi is in agreement when it's motorcycles and not when it's cars.

From my pov, if a car has earned" 5 stars", this means that it has alteast met the standards of a specific crash test agency + it has a stable body shell & this brings peace to my mind. The standards probably were set with some basic safety norms in mind. Thus, I don't go for a 2 star or a 0 star car. Is my assessment right ?

For the refinement part, I remember Maruti had some ads for Dzire where they highlights this capability by saying that you'll not even know if the car is On or Not. Kudos to Suzuki for going the extra mile and reenforcing the structure. 👏 You see adding High strength steel in the load paths was never a big challenge but they only did this after all the backlash they got :) So people who criticized suzuki for poor star rating should also be credited for this change. Karthik mentioned the weight has gone up by only 40kg, BUT..... this car must have saved a good amount of weight with the downsized 3 cylinder engine whereas the Baleno still has old 4 cylinder engine hence the 100kg weight difference is seen, so i guess the structural changes done to Dzire and Baleno are probably identical.

The front change is interesting and I understand why the sunroof is there (much as I hate it), but I think they missed a trick on the rear seat. The Dzire is basically the rear seat car, and the better seat would have been nicer as all of us will end up in it once it hits the cab segment ultimately This will sell and well. The fuel efficiency thing only makes a difference if you are driving more than 15000km a year. 3km per litre more fuel efficiency will save you 15000 Rs more i.e. 1250 Rs a month. That's like 3 Starbucks drinks whose experience lasts 1.5 hours total vs a car you'd probably be driving 40hours to cover those 1250 km monthly. But unfortunately people don't understand it. The numbers look good on paper but aren't that helpful. It's like how people crib when fuel prices go up by 2Rs. but then they'd probably end up spending barely 50Rs more in a month.

@motorinc thanks. I planning to buy one of Dzire & Baleno. What would you suggest for light city drive & mumbai pune weekly highway drives?

I love how you both explain the truth behind the star ratings, people are so easily fooled these days, especially about how some cars get disqualified with a 0 star just because of an equipment not be present, Scorpio N in the Aussie NCAP is a good example. That said, this is a good improvement over the previous gen, however it still not appealing to me in terms of safety, crash tests are highly specific in terms of their conditions and Maruti cars are still built on a budget with the overall structure not being that strong. I was tboned by a Tata 407 at a relatively high speed (>40kmph or so) not that long ago in my Honda city, when my car was taken to the dealer for insurance claims etc I saw how well the structure of the car took the blunt of the force. Yes, I understand that sheet metal thickness isn't the way to measure truth sense of safety but on that day I was glad I had that thick sheet between me and a rusty old front bumper of the truck, if I could I would share the picture of how it almost punched through the sheet metal, almost.... But it didn't. Knowning that, I would still put some consideration towards have a thicker sheet between me and whatever is out there coming at me. Tata sheet metal do be looking quite thicc these days. If only the service was reliable 😢

I have to give it to Shumi’s childlike enthusiasm to turn this First video into a shots game effectively. Agave or Tequila, anyone? But jokes apart, one must see how the pricing holds given its discount season out there. Plus given how it’s aimed at an economy segment that actually cares only for the kmpl, it’s an eyesore that L and V variants still get those skinny 14s. Jeez. Will take a test drive still coz I just wanna see what the fuss the 3 pot engine is all about. :)

That 5 star rating seems more of a marketing gimmick, as u guys rightly said we need drivers to improve in safety rather than have a 5 star, also so much mileage seems to be an overkill.. swift diesel gave me around 27kmpl on a highway run, I was happy cause of a diesel engine torque but on a petrol definitely performance will take a hit..
@higirish7737 минут бұрын
Everyone should Aspire to review like this, this has some Aura and it never ceases to Amaze, while it is all about Dzire. Nobody can say Tata ,Swiftly in the middle of all this.

Top zxi+ should come without sunroof too. And add armrest and ventilated seats with electronic irvm and 170mm ground clearance plus 16 inch alloy wheels.

Thank you for your insights! Especially on the safety aspect. I wonder why the new Swift did not manage a 5* rating....

Safety - we will stress on us driving better. The car is fine. For elders - the dzire will be good. Although a bit low to get in and out of.

Front and back don't match with the side profile of the car. It's curvy from the side, the roofline and it's sharp on the front and at the back. I bet it'll look really good on Amaze's side profile.

Hi MI Family.. I am really in a 🥒 of sorts, I had almost booked a Tata Curvv n backed out. Lokking for help really on this - Is there a major change due for XUV 700. That beast of a car seems to be better than anything in terms of cost, engine, drive exp. Ofcourse happy to hear if if anyone feels there is a better car at 20 - 22L budget. As usual Shumi n KS ❤ the info regarding what is happening over all with regards to market. Also it would be very helpful if u also could spare time on query regarding XUV
@motorinc17 сағат бұрын
We’re not sure how big a change it will be, but Mahindra will update the XUV 700 next year.

Hey Motorinc, A little bit off topic I'm planning to buy a KTM Duke 250. Now, I'm torn between the TFT and non-TFT versions of the Duke 250. The TFT model comes with an ebony black color option, which looks sleek, but my heart was always set on the electronic orange color, which is available on both the TFT and the non-TFT model. Here's the catch: the non-TFT model is currently available with a ₹12,000 difference, which includes: - ₹8,000 cash discount - ₹5,000 KTM branded helmet (which is a great addition) - 1 extra free service The TFT model, on the other hand, has no discounts and costs around ₹12,000 more than the non-TFT version. Considering my usage will be limited to city commutes, do you think the TFT screen is worth the extra cost? Or should I go for the non-TFT model with the electronic orange color and save some money? That said I can spare the extra ₹ 12,000 but am concerned if the color TFT will add extra to the maintenance cost. What's your recommendation?

Maruti was always like we don't need that we don't need this in our cars people are upgrading from 2 wheelers. Now Dzire shows the change in mindset. They still lug to mileage reducing bhp's taking out fun driving quotient, India has moved far away that's why competition is rising Maruti sinking in market share
@shubhamgarg4370Сағат бұрын
Aftermarket Seat covers might be an issue as new Dzire gets front seat airbags, thoughts ?
@motorincСағат бұрын
Yep, for front seats - definitely. Not for the rear seat.

I have never found any of Maruti cars Desirable.Rightly said,ive always found them to be uncle cars.Look at the Virtus,Nexon,Creta,Scorpio-N, Seltos ( irrespective of the segment).They look and feel desirable.

Drove the new dzire, didn't like it much. Yeah it feels robust but the engine is not fun, many time it feels out of breath in 3rd gear and some vibrations. Suddenly rpm went too low and felt like engine is dying like aftermarket cng though what i drove was zxi+ petrol. Don't know why but after 100 kms i was light headed and nauseous which i never been in a sedan.
@motorincКүн бұрын
