He became the God of Stories, yet in doing so has resigned himself to a role precious few will ever acknowledge him for. He has ascended to the top of the tallest mountain in the world where he can watch over everything the light touches, but no one has truly witnessed his climb. No one will ever truly speak of it, or learn of it. He will live on forever as a God not for the sake of his Pride, but for the sake of others. I love this ending even though it's so bittersweet. Loki's Glorious Purpose has finally has arrived with Loki realizing he can replace the branch-killing Loom, and therefore the Sacred Timeline, with something better: himself. Loki takes He Who Remains place at the End of Time but Loki also becomes the God of Stories according to the MCU wiki and most interpretations. If he is the God of Stories for the MCU then the MCU would be changing the meaning of the God of Stories from the comics but they have changed big things before. I also love how the new natural Loom is in the shape of Yggdrasil. When Loki locks Mobius and Sylvie out and tearfully says goodbye to them, he says the same last words he said to Odin right before falling off the Bifrost Bridge and seemingly dying: “I could have done it, father. For you! For all of us!”. Loki's purpose is a glorious one, but the burden is completely heavy, where he is completely alone, unable to be with his loved ones ever again. Still Loki gets watch over them from countless timelines on a throne at the end of the world. No subjects to rule over, no family, no friends. Just him. His god attire isn't fancy, no gold trimmings, as it emphasizes the "burden" he places on himself. Yggdrasil, also known as the Tree of Life, Tree of the World, and the World's Tree, is a concept used by the Asgardians to describe the cosmic nebula, with each branch or root representing one of the Nine Realms but this new Yggdrasil is not just for the Nine Realms but for the entire multiverse.

616 Adjacent Realm is indeed the Quantum Realm where they "took care" of that variant of Kang.. er.. He Who Remains.

the gold filling the cracks at the citadel is probably a reference to "kintsugi", the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. It can refer to more abstract concepts as well.

This has been the best from mcu for me, I think the kid mobius was supposed to prune but couldn't was kid loki at the end of time. Also lokis tears in that last scene were real, they had all been saying their goodbyes on set right before filming this scene

It's in reference to this point here, 2:05. 7:29 This moment was Sylvie's Nexus Event! 8:07 I don't think it's that, but the fact that he doesn't want to kill his friends, and Sylvie is one of his dearest friends. This is isn't just her Nexus Event, but also her Canon Event, no matter what he does, Sylvie will inevitably kill HWR. She's a Loki she's burdened with "glorious purpose" too, destroying the old so something new can rise. 10:17 HWR has been where Loki is now--I don't think he's the bad guy the Internet and comic heads are making him out to be. Sure, he's that guy in the comics, but the MCU hasn't been telling those stories, but its own stories inspired by those comics and the MCU's stories for better or for worse have been very different. MCU characters get completed story arc's something the comics never really give since they never come to conclusion. HWR ended the Multiversal War because it was destroying all of time. He erased his variants from the Sacred Timeline and then removed himself from all of time. He took the roots of time and wove them into a manageable looped stream of Energy that we call the Sacred Timeline, and Phase Four has taught us that the Sacred Timeline is the Multiverse and this explains all the different Spider-Man variants, Spider-Man villain variants, Loki variants, Doctor Strange variants, etc. we've been seeing throughout this phase--they all come from different universe within the Multiverse. All of those universes are clones of the same universe but with a bit a variation; hence, the term variants. Universes with the Sacred Timeline are variants of one another, yet they still rhyme. What happens in one, happens in countless others too, which explains why all the Spider-Man variants have shared Canon Events, destiny is destiny. HWR sought to change destiny, the end of everything. He looped time, attempting to prevent its end. The loom, prior to the Sacred Timeline's branching, was constantly rethreading the Sacred Timeline, keeping things together. The TVA was constantly policing the Sacred Timeline erasing hiccups in time, preventing every course correction time was attempting to make. We learned in this moment that the Temporal Loom was also a failsafe, a backup to save the roots of time in the event that the TVA failed to do its mission. HWR never figured out how to save all of time, as it was beyond the ability of man. That's probably why the story centers on Loki, a god. Victor, as we saw, could not withstand the temporal radiation, hence his limitations. Loki, being a god, can. We saw Thor withstand the full force of a sun's radiation in Infinity War so it makes sense that Loki would also be able to withstand large amounts of radiation too, not to mention survive the vacuum of space too, which we also saw Asgardians do in previous stories. 11:31 This story explains why Ravonna visited young Sylvie. Ravonna and Mobius were charged with Minority Report type pruning. Ravonna pruned Sylvie because she was trying to prevent Sylvie's Nexus Event! 14:34 He controlled his powers because he wanted his friends, and now he wants his friends to be okay. Last episode ended with him saying that he could rewrite the story, and this episode was all about Loki rewriting the story. This was foreshadowing what Loki is destined to become, the God of Stories. 15:16 What an epic transformation! 16:04 Loki pulled back the vail, revealing the Citadel at the End of Time which was always siting on the other side of the Temporal Loom, opposite the TVA. 16:43 He sure did. Loki took the roots and branches and built the Tree of Life, the tree we saw in the first Thor movie up until Hela burned it down in Ragnarok. This is sort of like another Ragnarok event, so it's kind of cool that this time we see the tree's return. Frigga would be so proud of her son, Odin too. What an epic ascension for Loki! This mic drop moment will be very, very hard to top. Even for Thor, lol. 17:05 Loki's first rewrite as the God of Stories. He repurposed the TVA. The protect all of time now, branches and all. 17:38 Without a doubt! Victor debuted in Quantumania along with the Council of Kangs, and that story precedes this one. HWR just confirmed that his variants were here, and unbeknownst to the TVA those variants are toiling in the TVA's blind spot. 18:28 Another rewrite! There's Hunter D90! Brad pruned him remember? He should be in the void, yet he's here! Loki knows everyone at the TVA was there against their will but he left those in place he dedicated their lives to protect, which would explain why D90s in this room with B15. Brad didn't want this life and Loki knew that. Loki isn't one to hold a grudge, so I wouldn't be surprised if Loki sent him back to his own timeline to live out his days as he always wanted. 18:31 OB wrote a book that everyone WILL now read, because this new TVA will be run very differently. No more Temporal Looms, Red Lines or pruning Branched Timelines. This time they'll really live up to their motto, "For All Time. Always," as they are watching over every possible reality of time, which is something they could not do under HWR's limitations to the roots of time. 18:45 That old floor emblem and Ravonna are relics of the past, and it sounds like it's time for them to go. Yikes! 18:52 Perhaps the best rewrite of all! Loki gave Mobius the life he was afraid to learn he had had, a great life. Mobius's family isn't the mess we saw just an episode ago. He and his boys are happy. Look at his garage, there's only one personal watercraft this time, not two. Something I didn't catch, but others did, is that Mobius' story took place during the blip, 2018 to 2023. I suppose that could explain why she was gone, but I'm not sure I by that, as it sounded to me like she just left. More importantly, Thanos snapped half of all life in Universe 616 and that should have no effect on any other universe, still something worth mentioning. Mobius has to make a choice now. Experience the life he was afraid to be missing out on or fight to preserve it. Whichever he chooses, Loki will respect his choice, as all he wants his for his friends to be full. Even though Loki will remain at the end of time for eternity, seemingly alone, he's not really alone, as he gets to see his friends whenever he wants, and so many others. Prior to his final choice to save it all, he spent centuries with his friends. Even though it was the same moment over and over again, it wasn't always the same and his time with them only strengthen his resolve to save them all the more. Loki's the GOAT! If this is his end, what a satisfying and epic end to a very interesting character. I hope we see him and Thor meet one last time, though. When Thor's end comes, I hope it is as epic as this, but it is going to be hard to top saving all of time. Wow!
