honestly im very happy The Russos are directing Secret Wars, they’ve always talked about directing Secret Wars and they clearly love the source material. btw according to rumors this version of Doom is from the Fantastic Four’s universe so it would make more sense.

yeah I'm fine with them directing too. And look I don't really have a problem with doom, but the fact they cast RDJ tells me that they are being son cheap just to get fans in the theater. Like there are so many better options then RDJ and I love him as an actor and I hate this casting.

@@TheOneRocket i think that people are nontheless gonna go see avengers doomsday when its out because... cmon, its an avengers film. when a new avenger film drops, its like a fortnite live event but in real life. RDJ casted as doctor doom just gives people a slightly bigger reason to go watch it.

Thanks bro appreciate it! But yeah I agree it is so desperate I don't think I have so much of a cashgrab since the harry potter reboot was announced, him as Superior Iron Man is way better. Like for as much shit as we give DC at least they are doing new things instead of being desperate to get people in theaters. Honestly after Fantastic Four I think I'm done with the MCU.

I think this was just a shock factor reveal to get the hype going but the real doom will be a different actor while RDJ will be playing a variant which is obvious as there’s no way they’re just casting him and throwing his Ironman legacy in the dust

Th3Birdman-As an impartial party, I would like to have seen how this film would have done had it been properly promoted and all other variables been equal to something like, say, Thor Love and Thunder. I think both these movies are around the same quality level, only Thor 4 made just under a billion. My problem is that there have been extenuating circumstances with some recent Marvel properties, and people are claiming the MCU is dead. It's like, Guardians 3 just made nearly a billion, Wakanda Forever nearly made a billion, Loki Season 2 was critically acclaimed, Deadpool's trailer is one of the most watched trailers, and The Marvels is dominating Disney Plus right now. If that's what a "dead" franchise looks like, what the hell is an "alive" franchise???

I disagree this might be the come up they need. Yes its pretty clear they brought back RDJ and The Russo Brothers because of "member berries" but they, and other people, were what made the MCU the MCU. I trust the Russo brothers in making RDJ, and its going to be cool to see how alternate universe Tony Start (I'm assuming he's Doom) will be and how their universe is like. Normally I'd say they hit a low but they could turn things around if they play it right

In my opinion casting RDJ as Dr Doom doesn't really matter ..as long as it is properly written . Sure ...actors like cilian murphy wouldve been a better choice..but the current writing department of marvel is not looking promising at all . The only confirmed writer for the avengers movie is Michael waldron who wrote multiverse of madness ..which was pretty average. Marvel really needs the OG writer duos - Christopher marcus & stephen Mcfeely who along with the direction of the russos...carried 4 major marvel movies .

It sucks that they were doing so well at the start but after secret wars they fumbled the bag. It didn't ruin everything for me but It was a bit meh. I mean I get it's the Multiverse, i thought it was funny for a second but then they leaned way too much into it and it felt like a gimmick specifically for the Panel and I just can't even.

I am glad you like RDJ as Doom I wish I did. And I am also excited to see the Russo's back even though I would prefer someone new I would be lying if I said they weren't good choices. Also yeah new DC stuff looks great would make a video but don't know if that's big enough for a video.

So like you said I'm still gonna give it a try and I guess maybe hope that it works out, but sadly, at least right now in the early stages, I don't have a ton of hope for this to work well. Obviously RDJ is an awesome actor, and the vast majority loved him as Tony Stark, but I sadly right now have to agree that it just seems like a desperate move. Because outside of like Spiderman NWH and now Deadpool and Wolverine, and maybe like 1 or 2 of the TV series, the MCU has been in a pretty downward spiral. Plus now on top of that adding in basically having to scramble and last minute re route the path by having to pretty much shut down the Kang storyline due to Majors legal trouble combined with just the overall struggles of the movies involving that (Dr Strange 2 and Antman 3 for example)

It may be desperate, and it may be a Hail Mary pass, BUT....the real question is, Can RDJ pull it off? I would NEVER count RDJ out. If he's doing Doom, then he certainly was screen tested and the directors were satisfied he could do it. Think about it

I think we need to remember here that this isnt completely Marvels fault I mean look Jonathan Majors is guilty of abuse so Marvel and almost every big movie company he worked for has fired him to avoid controversy so effectively Kangs run is over so Avengers Kang Dynasty needs a name change to Avengers Doomsday and lets be real here we love Dr. Doom more than Kang . And maybe we shouldnt blame Marvel completely for brings RDJ as doom maybe it was the russo brothers decision to bring RDJ back because they probably examined the state ofnthe MCU and thought it needs to be saved by someone great and you think of anyone absolutely any actor who can play Victor Von Doom and actor we all trust and know they'll do the character justice I think we all need to calm down, shut up and wait for the film to come out before we start hateing on it when the script hasnt even been made and plus why are you soo mad anyway ? Dr Doom wears a mask 24/7 so its not like we'll see RDJ 's face seriously though we need to give these guys a chance to save their universe .
