The thing is, everyone is upset at something Hasbro releases but the consumers won’t do anything about it and expect other people to do it for them. Just go on their social media and be a Karen and complain. I do on every reveal that I find an issue, but I don’t get any likes on my message because at the end of the day most people don’t care. One recent complain I did was on the Spider-Men 3 pack. All I ask is a costume accurate for Holland’s suit and many people complains about it, but no one cares about making any wave about it.

@@893trent and? That’s about all he has is sculpt and Price.. the bad things about McFarlane* are the character selection, articulation and the scale. He usually focuses on Batman related characters and doesn’t seem to want to change that. We haven’t even gotten a regular plain comic Wonder Woman. The articulation is not great but passable. He can do more but chooses not to , just to preserve sculpt. 7 inch scale doesn’t really fit with anything unless it’s the Mega Figs. Having a GIANT Batman or Superman next to a tiny iron man or Spider-Man looks off. I can nitpick about his bad proportion when he doesn’t try but that’s just reaching.

Wish they'd include caps for holes. I appreciate the wings but I'd like to be able to display Venom without two massive pegholes. The conundrum of the windowless box. It requires trust with Hasbro's QC and the retailers and........consumers don't have it. Hasbro's lack of replacing figures also doesn't help. Now if Sony Venom could just get his chest symbol, that would be great.

They raise prices way above inflation at the same time they're reducing QC and lowering the budgets of the classes. It sure sucks for us the fans, though Hasbro's having their most profitable year ever, so at least the share holders are happy I suppose.

Exactly. $40 each figure is basically in the SH figuarts range and the details/paint are abysmal. They couldn't even change the feet to non-clawed for the "King in Black" accuracy. Only Mac Gargan and movie Venom had clawed feet. Jacking up the prices so much but can't even give better detailing and accuracy in return. Also pretty cheap on the accessories. Knull doesn't even have alt hands.

@@TheHairyGorilla They aren't massive. They are 7.5 inches tall. That's like standard McFarlane figure height and those are only $20, not $40. Try collecting other lines like McFarlane mega figs for "massive". 11 inches tall, 3 pounds, and only $40.

Man hasbro qc issues are getting worse each year, I had a issue with a Siege Galaxy Optimus that came without the shoulder pats, luckily I could change it, but really with the kind of box Hasbro uses now it will be a pain to buy leader class transformers, will be a leap of faith

Ahhh, apparently they chose to do this new box design to hide their downgraded QC. This is the 2nd massive QC issue that I've known. 1st one is spinneret neck only has half of the webline being painted.

I've been collecting marvel legends for 20 years but with the 3 price hikes in 12 months and the switch to all cardboard packaging I'm not collecting them anymore and started collecting mcfarlane figures in 2020 and they have completely turned me aginst hasbro...mcfarlane is just putting better stuff out for cheaper and like you said we can see what we are getting

I really hope they make a Venom figure from when he was the enigma forces new avatar with the axe made from Mjolnir and silver surfers board (when it was made into a sword). For posing purposes I would also like Mjolnir and the sword included, but at that point I'd be doing a lot of reach and would be pricier.

Definitely cool looking but $80 no way. McFarlane has been making winged figs for $19.99 the Batman Beyond is going for $25 now. The Man-Bat is $41 but it’s almost a foot tall. Just can’t believe how they’re doing that. The total cardboard box also sucks, gonna have to check before you leave the parking lot if there’s any pieces missing.

Excellent review!! I am absolutely stoked to get my hands on a set, though, I'm a diorama person, so I don't mind unpainted, or bad paint, as I will just airbrush it my way anyway. But for the price, they should be pretty flawless out of the box. An eye is a BIG miss... But I think this is my favorite comic Venom. He has giant demon wings, his body sculpt is great and really rocks the OG Venom logo... I have all the other symbiotes, I have just been struggling with Venom and Carnage. Going to have to custom a Carnage. Thanks for sharing, you've definitely inspired my brain!

I have them pre ordered and they’re going to be 83 dollars if you count shipping. That’s a painful amount of money to spend on two action figures but I love this venom and knull looks incredible. I think they’ll be worth it to me. I’m sorry to see that messed up venom head. That’s my biggest fear now. Most of my marvel legends are purchased online but it’s really going to suck when you can’t see the physical figures in a store. That’s pretty important

They could at least have small windows to view the figures through. The overall quality of the figures is getting better. Many would disagree, but we’re getting better sculpts with pinless tech. The qc issue is something that I think will inevitably be resolved over time. It might be a pain in the butt to replace the messed up figures, but it’s still doable

Movie Venom body is too tall and lanky to really be comic Venom, IMO. It looks nice and sharp but honestly comic Venom is better suited on the retro Hercules buck. I'm unfamiliar with the bat wings and don't like them which means I'll have to deal with plugging and painting port holes on his back. The bottom of his spider logo should not be rounded off, either. And then of course his movie feet with toes are still there because Hasbro can't be bothered with new foot molds. As for Knull, he looks cool and all but I'm not a fan of retconning the Klyntar race as having some main leader. I'm a huge Venom/symbiote fan but I'm probably going to pass on this set, especially at an $80 (WTF!) price point. Maybe one day someone will sell this Venom on eBay loose without the wings.

While I do think that the plastic windowless packaging is at least better than the idiotic decision of removing said plastic windows meanwhile leaving the toy exposed to being damaged, or even stolen, it can still lead to problems on not knowing the quality of the product, and all of this because of Hasbro, and many other companies trying to be "better for the environment" without any acknowledgement on how it might affect their actual products. It's also baffling just how the quality of Hasbro's products has somewhat dropped in recent years, yet, the price has significantly increased... I swear these days I cannot help but question Hasbro as a business... :/ At least the figures are overall pretty good.

Paint app is actually not great. Besides yours missing one eye, the bottom part of the Venom spider symbol is always covered. They painted it too long so that you can only see it by bending backwards and showing a beer belly all the time. Or they could have painted the Spider's butt on the pelvic piece so it'd be always visible. For $80, it's a ripoff trash.

That qc issue is appalling, sure it's like one in every few thousand but that's like having a box of a thousand chocolates but one is a turd, you would not want any of it (unless you're a risk taker lol). I believe the select is better and that is 30 while this venom is 40 essentially but 80 to get the actual two pack. Overall I feel it's very underwhelming for the price and possibly in general.

That unpainted eye would annoy me. A lot. Is that not something they would replace? Or would they offer something lame instead? Did you contact Hasbro? That being said, I believe the non-plastic packaging is a separate topic, and 100% necessary. All toy companies should follow suit. The issue with plastic isn't just the waste (most is not recycled even though we think it is), it's also about the resources it takes to create the plastic, and how that is done. Quality control needs to happen before the toys are boxed, so maybe they aren't doing a good job of that right now because this is a change in their process.

They don't check even with windowed figs. I got a GI Joe fig missing a gun in the packaging. Missing gun slot is clear as day but their QC team clearly didn't bother. Oh and it was ordered off HasPulse so I couldn't check myself.

I always buy 2 of each figure so I can add one to my misb displays and one in my opened display but with these closed boxes i buy an extra one and open 2 in the car (they're just MIB and not MISB anymore) to check the quality and then I immediately return the extra one. damn you and your garbage quality now hasbro, I'm just about to end my time (since diaclone before transformers) in the hobby because of the horrible qc and insane prices now that transformers are almost doubled from price they were in powers of the prime here in Canada. what a shame.
