My Scientist Supreme also had the powder all over it. The new Stealth Iron Man I just received also had the powder all over it. The powder only seems to show up when the plastic is a marbled high gloss metallic plastic. So maybe its specific to that typeof plastic. But the Stealth Iron Man's pelvis/hip area was shattered into 7 pieces. I was more concerned about it being completely broken than the powder.

Paint vs Colored Plastic Really it depends. If it's a character that's generally one color I think I prefer colored plastic in most cases. It's metallic looking plastics that can be problematic. In some situations it comes off as gummy bear consistency and in others it's more pearlized colors which suit the figure well. Paint can scrape even if it has more surface quality options. With Hasbro, they don't "screw" up plastic color. They may choose a clearly no gold plastic that's inappropriate but you don't have to worry about that color experiencing paint drips. BUT!!! Same with Hasbro, the plastics they use don't match. This is very apparent on Power Rangers where the torso colors don't match the limbs. In this case a paint for both would make it more uniform. A situation where paint was a very bad move is Neca's Phantom/Ming/Flash. They put paint on the joints for the hands and feet. Guess what gets scrapes off in large flakes? Why they didn't mold them in the color of that are or just leave it unpainted is beyond me. All I know is I got chips of paint all over.

Bought one on clearance for my younger brother and he did report finding the white residues and suspected leaching of plastic degradation, which is disappointing. I may have to customize it to address the issue.

Interesting, I've been having the same issue with white powder on some of my Transformers from Hasbro. I have a reissue G1 Optimus Prime where the white powder seems to be limited to the painted die-cast metal parts and the ratchet joint section of the chromed legs. I was wondering where the heck that came from. Maybe I should see about getting some samples tested to be sure.

I recently got dr.doom the 1 w/white cape (super villains) & opened it last night & thts wht the figure had, the white powder. I wiped it out w/a damp cloth bcuz it was on every part(silver)of it. Great video 👍

I always prefer metallic plastic over paint. Paint looks better no doubts, but I prefer the figures to be durable. Actually this same figure came with a problem in the shoulder paint for me and it bothers me

I also preffer AIM. Hydra looks boring. And i don't have an issue with the "metallic" look if they are well done. This is a nice one but we know that sometines they mess up

Should have came with another hand or two. Legend plastic varies from figure to figure. Rather have less paint from this company since the plastic is getting better on some figures and less chance of rub or chip. When looking to buy, your one of the most objective and thorough reviewers. Also like your humor!

I prefer AIM to Hydra, they just look cooler. But this figure doesn’t do anything for me. Too plasticky looking, I would repaint in yellow if someone gave it to me or I got him for well below retail price. And that honking big “belt buckle” must be a pain whenever he has to sit. 😆

What I mostly love about this figure is its gender neutral. The scientist supreme has never been one person. Its basically a job or a position. The face is completely obscured and the body is in thick armor and featureless. So this can be George Clinton or Monica Rappacini in displays or play scenarios.
