When she was introduced she was Spider-Woman, in these animated movies she's Spider-woman. The fandom started calling her Spider-Gwen, maybe because Marvel for a time did a bunch of alternative Gwens all across for their comics as gimmick, so there where Gwens of all sorts. So when she blew in popularity they went with that questionable idea of naming the comic "Spider-Gwen" but in-fiction she was just another multiversal Spider-Woman. After a time they came with "Ghost Spider" for some reason ---

I just got my Cammy from Jada toys and her articulation is so much fun and dynamic. Seeing hasbro still not doing justice to the female figures is upsetting but that's okay cause I ain't buying any till they decide to stop being cheap.

Spider-Gwen has had a few better names in the comics but the movie didn't choose. Spider-Girl, Spider-Woman, my favorite is Ghost-Spider.

The movies do occasionally refer to her as Spider-Woman, but for the sake of distinguishing her from, for example, Jessica Drew, the marketing chose Spider-Gwen for some reason

Spider-Gwen is just a publication name or whatever. Like how "Ultimate" Spider-Man, Spider-Man "Noir" and Spider-Man "2099" have those extra words in their names but nobody calls them that in their universes. So Gwen's hero name in her world is Spider-Woman and I'm fine with that. Maybe they should have added a word to it like "Drummer Spider-Woman" or "Earth-65 Spider-Woman." Not a fan of the Ghost-Spider name. The only thing ghostly about her is the color white.

At least she got "Spider". Bendis created a "supeheroine" in DC that doesn´t have a name. She´s just Naomi. Or how he gave Lobo a daughter. The problem with that? Lobo´s origin is that he killed his ENTIRE species because he wanted to be the only one. So, for sure he wouldn´t care for his daughter. Or how created "Teen Lantern". And there´s EVERYTHING wrong with that: 1- Nobody would make a kid a police officer. Much less give them a gun. That´s a Green Lantern except instead of a gun the power ring is one of the most powerful weapons in DC. So, that wouldn´t happen. 2- Green Lantern doesn´t need a side kick. Precisely because he´s a cop. So no Batman/Robin, Green Arrow/Speedy, Wonder Woman/Wonder Girl. 3- If those things weren´t dumb enough let´s make this the most stupid thing ever. The name is "Teen" Lantern. Yet, the kid is ELEVEN YEARS OLD! Not a teen at all!!! Really, how imbecile you have to be to create a character and give it a name that doesn´t make sense at all.

This is from the scenes where she’s in her own universe, where colours function very differently. I can see what they were trying to do, but for how cheaply they executed it, the concept is not conveyed well at all, I think.

By the way, regarding superheroes names...That´s what pisses me off regarding Green Lantern. Sure, as fans and writing the comic (amongs the the characters that know) it´s fine to specify a GL by their name to know whom we´re talking about. But they are all Green Laterns. Even the ones that don´t wear masks are still Green Lantern. Yet I hate when people just call them by their civilian name and then add Green Lantern. I, for instance, hated in Rebirth when the title of the GL comic for that time was HAL JORDAN AND THE GL CORPS. Why? Either call it GL and the Corps, GL and the GL Corps or other thing but why have his name in the title? As soon as anyone see the cover knows who´s GL it is.

@@AnthonysCustoms I think there will be, at least for the main MS3 characters. Metal Slug was really popular in late 90s and 00s, also figures themselves look really good and stand out. I just feel like not enough people know about them, I recently found out about their existence by pure accident myself, and I now want to get most of them, but knowing if they have any flaws would be really useful. They also announced some great vehicles for them like a camel and a robot.

I don't know how it is in the comics, I always thoughy that was a dumb name too, specially because of the secret identity thing. Thankfully in the first movie she called herself "Spider-Woman" when she first introduced herself, and I'm pretty sure that's what they call her in the second one. Almost sure the whole Spider-Gwen thing was a marketing move and that is followed throughout the figures. But in the movies her superhero name is definitely not that. Biggest gripe with this figure besides the lack of more hands and mid articulation, is that its colors are based on a very specific scene of the movie with a particular lighting, this is not how she looks in the movie, so anyone wanting this version (which is slightly different from the first movie) in marvel legends form is screwed since this is not how she looks under normal light. Also the hair and the colors in the suit are affected but not her skin? They did it better with their Spider-Punk figure but I still definitely don't care about a special coloe version of the character.

I'm not a fan of the "Spider-Gwen" name. Ghost Spider doesn't really fit either since there's nothing ghostly about her or her design. I think Spider-Gwen was used since - at the the time - people didn't understand how Gwen was a Spider person if she was dead in 616. It's a comic equivalent of clickbait lol I'd go with "White Spider" or some other "Adjective + Spider" name.
