Same and there’s another thing ppl keep forgetting when they say RYV is the best - Spider-Man is 5’10” tall, the RYV buck makes him 6’+ which is inaccurate if posed with Cap or Black Panther.

I believe that iceman was actually the only character with cell shading in the show, it was to make him look shiny. Spidey and Firestar never had cell shading in the show.

I think the shoulders on this figure are MUCH nicer than the shoulders on the cel-shaded animated series Spider-Man. This figure uses the stock Amazing Fantasy shoulders while cel-shaded Spider-Man uses the RYV shoulders. I think these slightly bulkier shoulders cut a much nicer and better-proportioned silhouette. Overall I'm actually a little surprised by your slightly unenthusiastic response to this Spider-Man figure. I actually think this is by far the best Spider-Man we've gotten from Marvel Legends; it checks all the boxes IMO

Nah, I respectfully 100% disagree. I love how the shoulders worked on the Animated version. Didn’t get stuck on me and no plastic chewing ruining my figure. Also, Hasbro not hooking up articulated toes when they have them bums me out.

I love how even though underarm webs aren't included, they still included the peg holes for them so you can add to the figure if you own amazing fantasy spidey. Gives you an option to have a more classic Romita Sr look

The iceman would have sold me if it were better. I do love the tv show, but man that iceman is bad. If it were the same quality as the other two figures, I would have bought it. But I’m sure I’ll regret not buying this as it becomes unavailable.

Okay, so I was in my mid-20's when I happened to catch this show on Netflix and it absolutely charmed the hell out of me. I was going through a lot in my life at the time, from endless issues with my ex, to working full time at a job that I didn't want to be at, to grinding through night classes three times a week. This timeframe was maybe two to three years after Hasbro took the Legends license. They were in the process of putting their single card releases on hold for a while, focusing more on their Marvel Universe and Marvel Universe adjacent lines, and I was still tracking down some of the Toybiz Legends that were never distributed to my area. I was overpaying for some of those old Legends during a time where I had to be super selective with some of my purchases because of the situation I was stuck in during that time. When I saw this show to pop up on Netflix, I had to give it a shot, and I'm glad I did! It immediately felt like a nice, warm blanket. Just pure old school Marvel! The cheesiness and the way it looked reminded me of some of the old comics I found and read at a relatives house as a small kid! 70's and 80's Marvel when the stuff that was being put out at the time (early to mid 90's) was ultra stylized and everything had tons of belts, pouches, and plasma rifles. They even included the episode featuring Red Skull! When I saw this set was being offered, I knew I had to have it. Sure, we received a Firestar, but I passed on the first one... Good thing I did, because I NEARLY bought it! I've had a lot of Spider-Man figures, but this one looked awesome! It'd go great with all my others! Ice Man? The body may be a relic of the past, but dude, you and I are around the same age and made 5 points of articulation or less work when we were kids, so it didn't bother me that much! The body could have had slightly better proportions, but I'm really not disappointed since they're all supposed to be teenagers and they're not using that old mold from the All New X-Men five pack! You're absolutely correct though. This is definitely a niche set and I don't see why a lot of people were so upset at it. If it's not for them, it's absolutely okay to pass it up! It's three easy repaints and it was never advertised as more than that. Even if this was a perfect set of figures on better body molds and had more accessories, there would have been A LOT of people complaining about it simply because it's a Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends set and it'd have no place in their collection. Here's the rub that a lot of collectors don't think of: If they don't like this set, they don't need to purchase it AND there's always going to be something else coming out that they like, just as long as the Legends line continues to sell. Personally, I'd be more than happy if someone gets this three pack because it's all pure re-use and that does nothing but help the health of the overall brand of Marvel Legends. I'm pretty much on the same page as you with this set. Could it have been better? Absolutely. Am I surprised at it being better than expected. Yes. Just like the show, this set has a charm that brings me back to some of the few bright spots of my 2009 and 2010.

I think Shartimus is missing the point. In the cartoon, Ice-Man's shading was a signature look for him because of his ice body when transformed. Spider-Man and Firestar didn't have any shading unless they were in a dim lit alley or something.

Love the Amazing Friends cartoon. I gush whenever I look at these 3 on my shelf. For Ice-man, I don't think Ice-Man is quite cell-shading endeavor. It's just the way he was in the cartoon. Spider-Man and Firestar weren't shaded much in the cartoon. But Ice-Man even in broad daylight had shading cause of the ice body he has when he transformed. EDIT: I do like the body they used for Ice-Man. But I do wish Ice-Man was pinless though and they gave his face the iconic eyebrows and lime colored eyes.

Hasbro is making things difficult. The problem is some folks really like the AF15 body and Hasbro has made it either really difficult(Walmart) or really expensive(this release) to get it in regular colors. Iceman being the only not in a new pinless body just brings it all down. If Hasbro isn't going to try then just sell Spidey solo. Now as to the cell shading. Funny enough it is accurate. Iceman was the only one who had shading. The other two were flat.

I never got the first Firestar and still don't have that retro Iceman believe it or not..so this 3 pack was a must have. I did watch reruns of the show too as a kid. This Spidey and the AF spidey are indeed my top favorite Spiderman Legends right now. However, I do love the RYV Spidey but I have more nit picks with that one. So yeah man I actually do like the Iceman too and FS looks great and she has a more matted finish it seems compared to the old one which looks nice. Dope review and it was awesome seeing you on the Figgies award show!

I love the Marvel Legends Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends figures. I wish Spider-Man would team up with Firestar and Iceman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That would have been really cool and awesome. ShartimusPrime, the new Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania movie is coming out next month on February 17th, 2023. He has done it in some form in the comics but he simply isn't friends with these two characters. The Ultimate comics tried to adapt it using Human Torch(which was the intent but licensing) and Iceman. Shame that came to an end.

Cause Double-Dip-Hasbro will likely release a single package pinless version of Amazing Friends Ice-Man and at that point you'll wanna have Spidey and Firestar from this set to pair em with. This set’s aesthetic is all over the place :/ Firestar looks great with the new parts and paint, Iceman looks good but like he better belongs on a retro card with his outdated pinned body and shading effects, and Spidey is a repaint with inferior parts. It’s a nice set for those who really want it, but 3 packs really gotta wow me anymore with their high price point.

They STILL haven’t figured out how to make a good Iceman figure!?!! I don’t know what I’d recommend, I feel like light blue semi transparent plastic with white airbrush shading would look good. Or maybe switch those colors, semi transparent clear plastic with light blue air brush shading. Honestly, even though he doesn’t NEED it, it’d be really cool if they gave him his own body. One with more jagged edges for the muscles to match the head that they already have.

This is the Firestar we should have gotten the first time around. Iceman looks very dated, Hasbro again showing their cheapness. And this is an expensive set. Just got it for Spiderman because I wanted this body mold in red and blue colors with no cel shading.
