Awesome review Dan. I picked him up and waiting for him to be delivered. He is going to be my first Venom in my collection. The only thing that would have been better is his head articulation. To look up more. I've seen reviews on this figure already and that is the only drawback.

Congratulations on your first one! It's a great gateway drug Venom. I've got a few ToyBiz Spider-Man Classics ones, then the hasbro toon one, hasbro 3-pack comic one, the Mafex one, the last two Select ones (with the Madness one w/McFarlane head being my default), now this one on its way!

This has been the most detailed review of the ML 85 years Venom I've watched. Other reviews don't even realize the difference in the buck used for this release. Great work! I love the comparison between all 3 versions of the figure on the retro card and more!

Even tho i already have the Knull Venom 2 Pack..as well as the Exclusive Monster Venom ... i preordered this Venom from Walmart awhile back because I've always wanted a more CLASSIC Venom..but as a single release. Same here. I got this one for that OG head. Never been a fan of when they started drawing them with the long tongue. Always preferred the more calculated, non-drolling sinister grin look.

That Retro Card Venom does look really good out of the package - there’s a nice sheen on the plastic that makes it look like a living symbiotic organism which is a nice touch!

Man holes aside I still fuck with the cell shaded Venom the most, those colours and the head sculpt just do it for me and fit best with the rest of the colourful villains. But that McFarlane style head is so nice, but I have the monster Venom wave one too so I just can’t justify another Venom.

Was in FP Glasgow today some goodies but disappointed I didn't see Iron Fist 2 pack in person...or any of the previous Wolverine releases.. Couple Iron Man retros nabbed as compensation...😊 I still need toon venom but this one is nice too.

The popular figures usually don’t last long on the shelf at FP Glasgow to be honest. I haven’t went in FP Glasgow since last year but they had 2 packs stored in their glass cabinets with the statues and hot toys in my last visit.

I try to use the smaller places but I don’t usually get to visit them these days. Where is Geekaboo located as I have no clue where it is? I mostly go to the online independent retailers to buy my figures from if I can’t find them in stores.

I’m probably gonna display him with the grinning head, but if I do feel like switching to an open mouth with the tongue out, I’m probably gonna end up using the one from the two pack with Knull since I feel like that is still the best venom head with the tongue out.

I’m in the camp that prefers the AF15 body, specifically the Amazing Friends 3-pack Spidey. It just feels more like Spider-Man. A little shorter (Pete’s only 5’10) and a little leaner really works

I really wish they had included that Eddie Brock transformation head sculpt from that Symbiote three pack that this Venom shares majority of its parts from, it’s easily one of Hasbro’s best head sculpts and it’s a shame that it’s only been released in that one set.

Not really much to tweak to perfect this mold, tbh. A little cut on the nape to improve the head range (like they did with the Spidey mold) is a must, and maybe toe articulation if they have enough funds. I'd happily sacrifice toe articulation for navy blue highlights on this Venom, though, they'd look sick, very classic and comic-accurate.

The diaphragm ball joint is definitely the way to go...now if only they will phase out the ab crunches and thigh swivels. Continue to engineer them more like a NECA (like a Predator) or Mafex figure. Incorporating a ball joint in the waist too would be better than the ugly cheap looking ab crunches.

I just got back into collecting now that I have the money for it now but only really want a decent comic Deadpool and maybe venom and luckily alr have the black suit spidey which I bought on Mercari and it’s actually the one from 2016 lol and the last one I want to get is probably a Tobey McGuire just not sure yet bc Garfield’s my favorite spidey movies 🙏🏽

Just got it myself; the legs are kinda gummy tbh. Not a huge deal for me, as I mostly vanilla pose. But it could be an issue for more dynamic posing
