Helldivers 2 kinda does. You're capped at 250 medals (the currency you use for unlocking stuff in the warbond/battlepass). Even if a new warbond releases and such, your medals never reset. So if you don't use ur 250 medals on one of the previous warbonds, u can spend it on the next one. TBH they could just cap to a point in this game too instead of a full reset. I can understand not wanting to allow players to just full complete a battlepass, which is why Helldivers 2 does this. It caps you at 250 which is enough to get most of the good things but not the entire battlepass/warbond.

Although i am not bothered at all by this system as it's... well extremely usual for battle passes... I'd argue it takes a lot of time to gather them. I've been playing very early on and i didn't finish the battle pass yet because i don't play everyday, but that's still (checking)...30 hours I wasn't always focused on it, but it's not like i didn't spend time on it. I might be slow but that'd still be a lot of hours. It's "easy" to get, but it still takes time, which still is effort/time/energy and i think that's not negligeable, regardless if you think 20 hours (to use a shorter example) is not a lot. But as i said, i don't mind and still think people's anger is misplaced and thst they are exaggerating. That said i disagree to say it's not effort to earn chrono tokens. I think it's fair: the more you spend time in the free game, the more you can get rewards

Yeah, not all that shocked. My only issue is that I wish they'd make some other incentive to do daily missions and challenges after the pass is fully unlocked. It just feels like a bit of a waste now that I've got everything. But having the Battlepass "XP" detached from the pass itself was a bit of a confusing choice and I guess I can see why it would make some people feel like they're losing out to see they've got over a thousand banked and have it just go away. With a conventional XP system you don't get that--and even with Helldivers 2, they cap how much you can bank at 250 to urge spending and prevent a similar feeling.

My issue is that they don't just record how many tokens you had at the end of the season and let you back to that season later to spend what you had there, and only there. I'm ok with it not carrying over, but let people use what they earned during that season, some players are more casual and might miss the end of the season. Feels like an attempted fomo grab to sell more premium passes

Im alright with the chrono tokens not carrying over, but we really need other rewards to grind for after completing the BP. Take out excess chrono tokena from missions and supplement it with a small number of units or maybe even lattic for the luxury pass owners or something. There just doesn't feel like any need or reason to keep playing after you've completed it. It also allows you to at least work towards slowly unlocking other skins you may want in the shop while you wait for the next battle pass.

This is brain dead.. each season and it’s rewards can be perceived as a set of content in it of itself. The devs like in any other game have a planned amount of hours and time set for you to progress through said content. This falls into redundancy if you can acquire all content instantly. You’re given the amount of tokens needed to complete all tiers.. that’s it. This is normal. Play next season to progress.. next season. Be glad they’re giving us a system to return to old content and seemingly now a way to keep some tokens to do so.

No, most players aren't angry. Just a small subset of people that dont understand the literal bare minimum of how an economy functions. If they didnt reset the currency, eventually you'd be able to complete every single battlepass the second it releases with the currency you had saved. This, is so that can't happen. Honestly, it makes sense and is for the best, imo. -You remove farmable chrono tokens, instead giving them on quests, to frontload the tokens to people who play only a couple matches a day -You cut off the excess tokens at the end of the season, so you can bump the rate freely and give them more than they need, also for a second/third battlepass. Its a casual-minded approach, which I quite approve.

The thing I like about the chronotoken currency for the battlepass instead of xp is that it encourages players to complete/participate in the daily/weekly/event missions. This is good for the game imo because even if it feels slightly frustrating, people who buy the regular battlepass will be encouraged to not just be a one trick pony or only play a certain role and instead play different roles and characters if they want to get everything.

I feel the best solution to this problem is to convert the remaining chronotokens into units, on a half value scale, if you have 400 chronotokens at the end of the season, they become 200 units, and so getting chronotokens doesn't feel like a waste if you already bought everything you could on battlepass whether f2p or purchased.

I feel like most of the confusion about the chrono tokens not rolling over is from people who play games like Fortnite. Since the in game currency (V bucks) can be used to buy battle pass levels (thereby becoming xp basically) yet still rolls over to next season as it’s also the currency that’s used to buy cosmetics in the store, so it wouldn’t be fair to reset that to zero. Rivals changed this by creating their purchasable currency being lattice, and then making two different currencies you can convert it into that each have different purposes. These being chrono tokens for battle pass levels and units for store cosmetics, so they basically split the purpose and value of lattice in half (so we buy more lol). This is unlike V bucks which are used for both battle pass xp and store cosmetics yet are still retained at the end of the season. So I understand how people can feel a bit cheated since the currency in fortnite can be bought or earned in a previous season, kept, and immediately used at the start of the next season to level the new pass (or make store purchases) with no loss or forced use of that currency for the previous season’s pass on cosmetic you may not even want. If rivals had simply made the pass xp based and made a single currency used for pass and store purchases, I think people would be much less confused and upset. The problem is rivals trying to double the value of their in game currency without us noticing it.

The Battle Passes are basically the same as the Helldivers 2 Warbonds. You buy it, you have it indefinitely, you earn currency you can use to buy the stuff in it. Can't transfer the currency between them, though...

The only current thing that bothers my in Rivals is that they made sort of Xmas skins for a few characters and left out Luna who just so happens to have ice powers. The only issie I personally see with the pass is if I only want like 1 page out of it and then it sits in perma limbo for the rest of the games life.

Another idea, since we get to keep the battle pass and its access to the stuff, just keep the currency for it to that bp. When you select the bp to work on, you can continue the challenges on it and continue accumulation of the tokens to use. Once completed (no more excess) the bp will be closed once all is redeemed and then you can do the same with subsequent ones.

Yeah I can understand why people would be frustrated about this. I'm honestly fine with it rn. Battle Passes are meant to be completed in the time they were released. The fact that we can finish them if we have the luxury battle pass in a different season is rly cool.

Despite the weird way they word it, what they're basically saying is "we dont want people who horde 10,000 chrono tokens from season 0 to just buy the entire roster in season 1". I get the reason for it is so people are motivated to play more (which encourages faster ques yada yada) but i hope this lattice/chrono token doesnt bug out.

Here’s what they shoulda done. At the end of the season chromo tokens are converted into legacy tokens. Current season passes can only unlock with chrono tokens After the season passes it becomes a legacy season that can be unlocked using legacy tokens. That you can “stock pile” tokens, and use them how you want. But players can’t instantly unlock an entire new battle pass with their stock piled tokens. Once that season ends and you have a bunch of legacy tokens sure you can unlock it all at once.

All they would have to do going further with season battle passes is give us a repeatable reward at the very end once we've unlocked all other items, skins, sprays etc. That way, once people are done grinding, whatever they passively earned by playing and going challenges can still give some kind of reward instead of just a dead stockpile. Maybe something like 200 Chrono tokens for 50 latice or something. Something small enough that it would be time consuming to truely grind, but still something to earn after you're done the battle pass

I wish you could turn excess Chrono Tokens into Units. There's no good way to farm up units to collect skins and other cosmetics, but if you could exchange Chrono Tokens for Units that would solve most of the issues.

Would be smart to have a certain increment of chronotokens turn to lattice at end of season. Incentivizes people to continue playing out battle pass through the season to get a little lattice at the end for skins.

I think that in the future, if they add way more sprays and other small cosmetics, they could make a Chrono Token store to make a place for people to spend excess Chrono Tokens to lessen the blow of the reset.

I feel if we farm them and there's a reset but an auto claim for remaining stuff is ok, but if there's nothing and the reset is so we don't insta claim the next pass . Maybe change it into the blue credits at a 100 chrono tokens to 1 blue credit.

That doesn’t make a lot of sense, because of how also the BP works, you need to “earn” to unlock even the ability to purchase the items. So you wouldn’t be able to buy it all day one anyway… so weird.

For me chrono tokens make game more chill for me, i dont have to stress to get to a specific lvl to get a skin that i want or cry after that i didint have enough time to get on a game to get it. Reset makes total sense and they make it fair for people that spend more money on it. Fun thing would be that after u completed BP u can buy recolors for basic skins or for BP skins so u dont feel like loosing a lot of currency.

I think the chrono tokens thing makes sense, my only worry was about the ones people spent lattice on but it seems like they have a good fix. However, to keep players engaged after completing the pass I think that they should allow conversion of chrono tokens into units. Obviously not 1 to 1 but I could see 4 to 1 being fair. That way if I have 1000 extra chrono tokens that are going to be purged by the season's end I can get 250 units to use in the shop. It also helps people still complete challenges who don't care about the characters or skins in the current battle pass.

The way i see it, the amount of tokens earned through the dailies/challenges, is more than enough to go through the entire bp without having to purchase the extra 1400. I only bought the $5 pass and already unlocked everything just by playing the game. It is fair

I'll be honest, it didn't take long for me to get the tokens for the season 0 battlepass. I played every day for a bout two weeks in total, one to two hours a day, and just the daily missions got me a couple of battlepass rewards a day and I completed it pretty quick. I know the full season 1 will probably be longer, but I don't have an issue with this. I like having something to progress through, and this gives me that.

The devs should be more competent in knowing that if they keep giving you chono tokens as rewards for completing missions just to later take them away at the end without convertion is gonna taste very bitter. It's better to just not give excess tokens to begin with in order to not give false hope and expectation from the players.

Keeping the points wouldn't matter anyways, cause the battlepass makes you "earn" a certain amount to unlock pages. We'd just end up with thousands extra after multiple seasons

I mean it's kinda clear, remove all chrono tokens from the previous season are reset but paid ones can stay. And we can choose to upgrade any pass from past present and future just needing to farm alot of tokens to claim stuff. But do we need to play/pay for the current seasons to complete it in the future

I think this is how I expected the battle pass to work so I’m not sure what the issue is. I didn’t expect you to be able to do work on them after the time ends though. Resetting makes sense to me honestly cause they give them to you to use on that season that you earned them not to hold until they have a better season so you can come in and just own on noobs and ruin their drive to play. Makes sense to me based on user habits to keep people playing more consistently

It's nbd imo, but it would be cool if, at season's close, after the auto-redemption, chrono tokens converted to units at like a 10:1 ratio or something. So if I had 1500 CT, I'd end up with 150 units after season close. It's not a ton, but it feels nice as a lil reward for your continued efforts to complete missions.

The extra currency can be useful if you missed a season but still bought the battlepass. It makes it possible to get the older cosmetics.
