This scene would have ruined pacing considering this and the post credit UN scene were originally the end of the movie, but I still consider this canon because this is very sweet and a very well done scene that is just too long and doesn't fit right at the end. How did the other actors fare with speaking Xhosa?
@jasonphoenix292
@jasonphoenix292 4 жыл бұрын
@@Janexcalibur probably the same way that most actors go about with their training regime. Months and months of training. They also probably had like 7 teachers knowing Marvel. The most difficult thing about Xhosa is just the clicks. And obviously some of its pronunciation. But, once you get past that it gets easier. Or try Zulu, spoken by more people in South Africa than any other language. Of course this also depends on where you find yourself in South Africa.
@handywijaya3689
@handywijaya3689 4 жыл бұрын
Maybe but it doesn't really that hard compared to French and Mandarin.Different tone can mean different meanings.Last trip to Suzhou by my friend led to him being interrogated by local cops after he was trying to speak Mandarin to a restaurant employees
@pumlanohaji4420
@pumlanohaji4420 4 жыл бұрын
@@Janexcalibur Definitely practice but there were parts where we couldn't hear what the person said and had to repeat the scene to try and get it. Xhosa also is about pronunciation, if you miss pronunciation, you totally change the meaning or sentence. Listened once to a video made by an American about Xhosa people and the different groups in Xhosa. He was talking about my kind, the Mpondos. He couldn't pronounce it correctly. He kept saying Mpundus instead of Mpondos and in Xhosa "mpundu'' means buttocks or bums. Also, in Xhosa you can say ''Yho andilambanga" which would mean I am famished, which also means I am not hungry but the key is how you say it so you can get the intended message across.
@pumlanohaji4420
@pumlanohaji4420 4 жыл бұрын
@@Janexcalibur I also think, the directors may have chosen simpler terms/words. Mostly Xhosa is about phrases and idioms. I don't remember one idiom that was used in the movie.

The ending of this scene should've been left in, it was so sweet lol, Everett practicing how to speak Wakandan. I just love every scene that Martin Freeman had in this movie, he was so fantastic in BP and I really wish he was a part of IW somehow even though he's not a super.

I really like this scene because it shows the relationship that was already implied between T'Challa and Ross when Ross smiled during the mid credit scene. Even if it's deleted, I consider canon. But I agree with a few of the other comments, it probably would've broken up the pacing if they kept it.

Seeing the language difference is so fascinating. Like they made it easy to understand he was saying thank you and it felt so unreal and beautiful, for a second I felt like I knew the language.

Those last few seconds. I will always appreciate someone for taking the time to learn my language. It's small but it justifies my existence. In the same way, and for the same reason, i would learn theirs. Even if i make a mistake, or they make a mistake, doesnt matter. That isnt easy. But it means so much to just try

My mother felt the same way when she heard a celebrity speak Spanish because he wanted to learn it. We’re Mexican and we grew up speaking both English and Spanish. My mother had often heard people say “speak English in this country!” Or put people down for speaking another language so to hear someone who is not a native speaker of her language be spoken because they made the effort to learn made her feel happy and like you justify her existence. 🙂

Plus, it’s not easy to speak a different language. My mom, who is an orthodontist, was doing dental work for the poor in Honduras and tried to say in Spanish, “bite on the gauze for twenty minutes”. He started sweating and became fearful. Another doctor who did speak fluent Spanish calmed him down and revealed to my mom that she had accidentally said that he was going to die in twenty minutes.

Was thinking that too , over the last year or so , a lot of people was speculating that Ross really wanted T'Challa to expose Wakanda to the World in a fashion that would make it like Ross pushed , T'Challa ' to let the U.N. in on ( The Real ) Wakanda " ... This extra footage ' .... says otherwise , Interesting indeed !
