@cl20v87 I agree BUT Blade is a based on a comic character. If they cast correctly and stuck with source material(not woke shit up) they could continue the franchise easily. HOWEVER, (this is where I agree) I'm tired of these "new visions" from these coked up liberal writers and directors rehashing and bastardizing existing properties. Both Alien AND Predator in my opinion were both done after their original sequels. What's happend since is garbage and that's ONLY because of Hollywood arrogance, complacency, and entitlement. Not because more amazing films can't come from the franchises.

What are the odds that in 2030, if the MCU is still alive somehow, they give Ali the Tatum/Gambit treatment? Pay a bunch of money for him to show up as Blade, one part as a joke and another as a "what could have been" cameo. I hope it won't happen, but I can imagine that some director will think it'll be a cool cameo and try to rip off Deadpool 3.

The biggest obstacle to a new Blade movie is the lack of qualified actors. Modern Hollywood's options for black actors are either over 50 or look like soft skinned rent boys who traded favors to get their chance on screen. It's amazing how they've failed to develop talent for this niche when it was everywhere 20-30 years ago.

The fact the modern Marvel can't make a vampire hunter movie starring an Academy Award-winning actor killing vampires says a lot about Disney. Next thing, they won't be able to tell a fairy tale about a princess who flees a wicked stepmother and seeks sanctuary from 7 dwarves . . . .

I heard an argument that current Disney doesn't know how to handle stuff like Blade because they're (were) primarily a studio focused on telling fairy tales to little girls, and honestly, it makes a lot of sense when you look at their greatest successes, the Disney Princesses. Pixar has a more family tone to it, and the MCU was more serious and teenage/young adult oriented at first. The same could be applied to Star Wars. Sure, the franchise attracted all kinds of audiences but their core were nerdy young men. You stray from that core audience and the franchise loses its characteristics.

@@sparking023 The arguement is bunk when you go back and watch those movies they are known for. Disney used to make stuff that are both family friendly and rated R when paid attention to. The only reason disney's movies weren't R rated in their early days is because 1: they don't curse, 2: they looked colorful and kid-friendly. Not to mention how you have movies that have more impact on people than ANYTHING the modern world produces in their rating system, or do people block out ol' yeller that much.

The first movie gave us one of the coolest introductions of a main character ever. He's in a room surrounded by enemies, and they all freak out when they see him. They're scared sh*tless even though they outnumber him. It's immediately established that, in a roomful of what are supposed to be apex predators, he's so dangerous that almost all of them run. Well, the basic foundation is pretty obvious, the issue is how to "fit" this kind of movie into the MCU continuity. Blade is a supernatural character, why the hell Dr. Strange, Wong, the bald master that I forget the name (amazing actress), etc.. why they have no idea about the existence of vampires in that world. On a lesser extent, it's similar to the mutants dilemma, the MCU continuity got too big and messy, it's almost impossible to include these characters (here it comes the reboot)

As much as I love the first two Blade movies and the fact that Wesley reprised the role in D&W, he was in absolutely horrendous shape in it. They tried to hide it with his outfit, stunt doubles and clever angles and editing, but they were never gonna succeed. The man's old and frail, and he looks old and frail. Bringing him back for another Blade movie would be embarrassing for everybody. Let's leave him be.

What the hell lmao!!!! Yall are a RIOT! Yeah I heard he's gonna star in Geriatric Vampires where he's so old he lost his vampire sparkle and ends up having to join up with vamps in the Twilight universe to find his Vampire Sparkle™. That man didn't have shit and needed to get the hell off the screen. The puppet ALF was 10x a better actor :/ Wesley Snipes just used method acting for his role as Blade. His subtext was 'I really have to poop', and while that's the same subtext every batman has... it's all too evident in this one. You can tell the man is at risk of letting out a lil more than a fart on set. The only thing scary good about him is that I was really convinced the mans either had already pooped himself or was about to. His battle with his bowels is evident in his acting and detracts and distracts from other, better characters. Yeah, even that version of 'Gambit'. That was better, whatever that was. He was OK 20 years ago, but he can kindly GTFO.

I’d say the same for all of Hollywood. Movies are sh*t now and there’s nothing original and unique about movies anymore and it’s been like that for decades. It’s time for Hollywood to throw in the towel, we would be better off without Hollywood movies. I know it sounds harsh but it’s true.

Blade has to be a black ripped martial artist in real life that's also an actor. not just an actor, and this new guy is built like a string bean. We would see a potential replacement already in other movies right now, but seeing as we don't, we probably will never get another real blade. Sure, they can get somebody to act him, but the physicality is a big part.

'Never' is a bit too pessimistic, I think it's possible a few years down the line there'll be a new young action star who makes it big and people will say 'this guy would be perfect as Blade' and it'll get someone at Disney to restart production with a more solid plan. Also, we might get an offbrand version of Blade that serves as a proper spiritual successor to the originals now that the Disney project is officially on indefinite hold.

@@xeroprotagonist again if this person was on the up and coming we would already see them in some other small movie if it was going to happen in a few years but there is no one that fits the bill. in movie history who can even play blade? Wesley Snipes, Michael jai White, Bruce Leeroy, Chadwick Boseman. Thats 4 people in all of cinema history that are black, in shape to do athletic movement, are martial arts experts, and a actor, and could look of blade. if you don't meet all that it's going to flop and that type of person as just stated is less than 1% of actors as I just pointed out. So it's highly improbable, your too optimistic. Or will just let someone not up to par do it, which factually to a fanbase is unacceptable.

Ali is a great actor, but the wrong pick for this role. He played Cottonmouth in Luke Cage (Netflix), Phoenix in Alita Battle Angel and just _oozes_ presence and charisma. Green Book is a "historical docu-drama" and one of my all-time favourites. *BUT* he's not an action star. He never had a chance of living up to Wesley. He's perfect for a scheming mastermind type, but not a sword-wielding bad ass.

The script doesnt make sense and showed how Black Rock Disney writers have no knowledge of their source material. Blade's birth is listed as 1929. When he grows up as a 20 year old adult (like an ordinary human/dhampyr) the story will be well into the early 1950s at least.
