The fact the modern Marvel can't make a vampire hunter movie starring an Academy Award-winning actor killing vampires says a lot about Disney. Next thing, they won't be able to tell a fairy tale about a princess who flees a wicked stepmother and seeks sanctuary from 7 dwarves . . . .
@ascended192427 күн бұрын

I heard an argument that current Disney doesn't know how to handle stuff like Blade because they're (were) primarily a studio focused on telling fairy tales to little girls, and honestly, it makes a lot of sense when you look at their greatest successes, the Disney Princesses. Pixar has a more family tone to it, and the MCU was more serious and teenage/young adult oriented at first. The same could be applied to Star Wars. Sure, the franchise attracted all kinds of audiences but their core were nerdy young men. You stray from that core audience and the franchise loses its characteristics.

@@sparking023 The arguement is bunk when you go back and watch those movies they are known for. Disney used to make stuff that are both family friendly and rated R when paid attention to. The only reason disney's movies weren't R rated in their early days is because 1: they don't curse, 2: they looked colorful and kid-friendly. Not to mention how you have movies that have more impact on people than ANYTHING the modern world produces in their rating system, or do people block out ol' yeller that much.

Blade has to be a black ripped martial artist in real life that's also an actor. not just an actor, and this new guy is built like a string bean.
