One thing i like about the guardians franchise is that they actually feel like a separate entity that can exist outside of the Avengers. Like you can watch the guardians trilogy and not care about what happens in the Avengers crossovers. And i genuinely think that's a good thing. Edit: should've phrased it better. [mild spoiler alert] What I loved most about this movie is that it wasn't dealing with some multiversal threat that required me to watch previous TV series, with cliffhangers that left me waiting for the Next Big Movie for the payoff. Instead, it told a self-contained story with lots of heart about characters I previously knew nothing about, but learned to slowly love and appreciate -- including a tree that only says three words, and an abrasive rodent. But somehow I left that theater in tears, full of love and laughter for the last 2.5 hours that zoomed by. Amidst the size that the MCU has achieved, I consider this the true Marvel cinematic experience

Actually it felt like the endgame of guardians of the galaxy, each character’s arc was shown completeness. Their strengths, why rocket was the way it was, and how beautiful and innocence was and is always inside him. He just put a shell on it, because of the world he faced. I remember GOTG 2, the dialogue between Rocket and Yondu, Rocket felt like opening for the first time I guess.. this movie was amazing, after a very long time, it felt like the Marvel Magic was back..

Nebula's character arc is just outstanding! From a fearsome villain to a beloved member of the Guardians, she has come a long way. The way she balances making amends for her past mistakes while also honouring her sister Gamora is truly inspiring. Something I really love about Guardians movies is they aren't inherently connected to everything else happening in the MCU, they have their own journeys and adventures that don't deal very closely if at all with Thanos or Kang or Multiverse or anything. Just vague connections and mostly ideas.

Easily one of the best marvel films in a really really long time. I would put this right next to Endgame without a doubt. The character arcs for each of the main character, the messages conveyed behind the storyline, the perfect timing of the jokes, the great song selections, the incredible CGI, etc. Perfect way to wrap up the finale of this series. Just saw it earlier this evening. I was going into seeing this expecting to leave feeling the same way I have about the prior two Guardians movies. I was completely blown away, this movie shocked me. The stakes were high, the trauma was tough to watch and I felt real pity at moments, yet it was hilarious and ultimately triumphant. What an excellent movie. I love the theme of the film. It's all about CHANGE. The villain himself, The High Evolutionary, pretty self-explanatory. How Rocket was experimented upon and changed significantly. How the sisters themselves became so far-stretched from who they were via Thanos' sadistic augmentations. How Groot has evolved into who/what he is in this film. How Peter himself was almost turned into something else by his own father (as seen thru the previous movie). This is it.

Yes, and thor should have done its own thing instead of trying to replicate it. GotG is its own unique vibe of misfits banded together with the right directory and theme to work with. I hope Marvel keeps their themes and characterizations consistent for each ground and individual instead of trying to be the other. The success of the a formerly obscure comic book franchise is proof and should work mostly well in isolation of other movies within the universe.

Then Peter was snapped for 5 years, he didn’t get time to mourn and move on. Everything is still settling for him and then there’s this Gamora who is just a past version who just haven’t fall in love with him yet. Even in previous movies it took years for Quill and Gamora to become a couple so there would always be a lingering ‘what if’ thing going on in his mind until they’ve a proper talk and he finally moves on.

There's just something about the music at 1:11 - 1:47 that is just so swelling and emotional, like coming to the end of the road with you life long friends and family. It reminds me of highschool graduation and everyone leaving for summer not knowing whether or not we'll ever see each other again. The score really got to me at 1:25 I was 9 years old when the first trailer for gotg came out, now Iam 18 getting ready for college... Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is not only the Best of the trilogy, but probably Marvels Best Film. It balances character, emotion, narrative, themes, with such simplicity. after Endgame, all of the marvel movies released didnt had the hype, the stories, CGI, was not what we were looking for in a Marvel movie. I mean I was so dissapointed in all of them untill I watched GOTG3. This one nailed it. Love everything about this movie

The soundtracks for the Guardians of the Galaxy has always hit the mark and never missed once, and this song has me hyped up for the third and final ride of my favorite MCU superhero team! I'm not ready to let go and say goodbye to the Guardians, I've loved them since the first time I was introduced to them in 2014, and then they became just as important to the Infinity Saga as the Avengers. I love Nebula's character arc, she's been through so much, and I'm worried over Rocket's potentially tragic fate, although it looks like Dave Bautista's Drax could be the sacrificial lamb here

And we've never seen Groot mad before. He's always been an upbeat character, so it makes me think that for Groot, this is much more personal. Maybe Rocket dies before this point in the movie?

@@davidshillaker7578 Totally agree. I think this Groot will be badass. He was a baby and grew up with Guardians as his family. It will be very personal to him especially if they hurt Rocket.

@@jayw3512 Yeah, Rocket was literally his (adopted) dad. Rocket was his father’s best friend, the one that pulled him out of the rubble, and nursed him back to health/to life. In IW, before Groot got dusted, he called out to Rocket, “Dad?” in a scared tone. This will be the angriest Groot has been in his life, and I can’t wait to see how he handles it
