People see that the character they like(Venom,Gambit,ect) get replaced by him,they start to hate on it without any really constructive reasons.Now see that the character they like(Modok,RR,ect) get hate on it,they start to hate on the popular ones(Venom,Gambit without any really constructive reason.Its a fucking endless cycle.And fuck that shit,Venom took superman and spidey at the same time,fighted the fucking jugernault,and is probally the most wanted in this game at the marvel side.

After everyone downgrading M.O.D.O.K... I really hope that he becomes one of the most fluent characters. He does look like a floating turd, but I wouldn't cut his abilities short yet. With the right trio, his defences and long range could be quite brutal.

MODOK looks good to me... just cause he's not a rushdown character doesnt mean he cant be good...sure he probably has low hp and doesnt look like he'll be able to combo well, but he looks to have sick defense capability. cmon, forcefields, mines, full flight capability, etc, etc? -Ian

@rmnhn Many of the characters seem to have a reasonable learning curve in this game. You're kinda of required to utilize the extent of their abilities rather than spamming one move over and over again. Not only that, but you have to actually use his Analyze Cube if you wanna do some serious damage with the guy.

@DreamStepper Storm is most likely to be in the game. she was in the God tier for Marvel vs. Capcom 2. War Machine's out because War Machine is Iron Man's alternate outfit, and Bishop isn't very likely. I'm positive that there are also black supervillains, so, if there aren't enough black superheros, then they could add black super villains.

@spiderguy369 The creators have said that not every spot would be based on popularity. Some characters were added for gameplay reasons.(MODOK and Super Skrull) The roster is a mix of fan service, characters the creators want, and characters Marvel want to promote. That sounds fair enough to me.

And before anyone mentions Rocket Raccoon, yes, that's also for movie promotion. There's a Guardians of the Galaxy movie in the early, early stages of development. I'm not really bothered, I mean, I think they'll be interesting. Still, would've really liked Gambit or Anti-Venom.

@TomboTime The fact is the ones who ultimately add the characters to the game are Marvel and Capcom. And they don't always agree with the fans on who should be in. Even they have their own personal picks (like Capcom personally wanting Shuma Gorath back). Which honestly I prefer. I like a few surprises then everyone being a majority pick. Because if we went 100% with what fans wanted, we'd be getting some X-Men vs Street Fighter 2.0 bullshit with Megaman to make it Capcom.

Tbh I think that it is at least a breath of fresh air, I mean they are clearly trying to use characters that havent been in any of the previous Marvel vs games. That would explain why there is no Thanos, you never know he might still be there but un announced. All the characters i wanted to see so far from Capcom side are there at least, Wesker, Arthur, Felicia, Chun-li and a few more. All i want now is Hsien-ko and Bison. Bison would make 2 hero's and a villain in sf at least.

@butchdeadlift10 that was the whole point of Deadpool; the dissonance of the badass Rob Liefeld costume with his crazy antics and 4th wall breaking. I do agree with you that his dialogue gets cut short, but we do get weird attack name combos like "I love me my...bathroom break!" It gives him a weird Cloud Cuckoolander feel that fits him well. Adding a dialogue buffer to let him say everything would be nice too, but the way it's set up right now works fine IMHO.

@AlastorGX When you read Marvel comics you're reading a whole world, if you don't like Cap chances are you might like Spidey, its a fun world to read about, and even better in a game. What you don't seem to realize is that the capcom characters don't make any realistic sense, Wolverine is a normal guy with a healing factor, Hulk was a normal guy who got radiated, the fantastic 4 all use to be normal people. So how does VJ, the okami dog, and arthur fit into this?

While not packing power, he does a good job of maintaining gaps. In addition, he can increase his own power with the Analyze Cube. You saw just how powerful it makes him with one of his Hypers

This is MvC, I want it to feel like a party game, but with this heavy cell shading style everything looks so dark. after Deadpool, X-23, Dante, Dante's girlfreind, morigan, Wesker, Dormamu,and even Superskrull it doesn't feel like I am playing a game so much like I am playing "hot topic tournament fighter". @romxxii well, I am speaking of more of a color scheme deal. Deadpool is funny, no argument there, but much like some of the happier backgrounds in the game, its truly just the colors that are affecting the mood. A clown infront of a rainbow is joyful, a clown standing in a dark room is at least glum and at most depressing . Most I have to say against deadpool is that the fast pace of the game seems to cut his dialogue short....but thats complaining about nothing

@bloodydragon Actually it's sounding more and more like it's Marvel's fault and not Capcom's. They won't give them permission to use Venom, Gambit and (I believe) Cyclops. They basically have a set list of characters the company would like in the game that they have to choose from. That's why four of the six new Marvel characters in UMvC3 either are or were at some point Avengers. Movie promotion.

You see I've become jaded to video games, to many 1 players games, I'm more of a fan of multiplayer cuz I love a challenge. @nickprs7 Well the problem isn't MODOK, it's you. I don't think you've actually attempted at trying him. MODOK can actually fight quite well. He's not called the 'Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing' for nothing. He is a floating arsenal packed to the rim with an array of lethal weapons and hi-tech technology, not to mention he has incredible psychokinetic powers. I'd say that's more than enough reason for him to be here fighting against everyone.

honestly i think marvel only put in MODOK because of the good responses the Marvel WTF? videos have received. I agree that venom needs to be in this. I'd like carnage but i'm not sure if they'd go with it. if they're going for obscure characters though i'd throw in Moon Knight or Iron Fist. Also Luke Cage and Juggernaut would be nice to see too if they make it in. Capcom's been delivering fairly well, i'm just waiting for Mega Man.
