Years ago, I remember seeing a poster advertising a local tournament for this game in my hometown. I signed up and started a match with my "best" characters. The guy that I played against in the first round beat me with only Spider-Man and never used a hyper combo. I never played the game again.

This game used to be so busy with other people in high school older than me, knowing i called next and gathered $2 in tokens around the screen panel would just skip me and play my credits i had just loaded. Going "hey lemme beat him for you lil dog, and once i let em have the joyetick i wouldnt ever get it back. I gave up on playing this in public at my local arcade. 😢
