They actually created Thor the Marvel character specifically to have a character to be stronger than the Hulk and having a reason for it. Note this was base Thor, not Odinforce Thor or Thorforce Thor, etc... The real question is "is Thor tougher than the Hulk"? This is a hard question, because Thor's fortitude is one of those as-the-story-needs things. He can walk on the sun without issue, but get knocked out by mooks...

The Hulk has no known upper bounds, more anger = more power, apparently without an upper bound to how angry he can get. Making him the strongest, problem is that it has a build up and he can get smacked down before that. Thor starts out at max power (well, there's warrior spirit for Thor which will allow him to keep up with the Hulk for some time). The more of these types of videos I watch the answer to all of them seems to be: Whoever the writer decides wins, they all have a million versions with a million different power levels and all of them have defeated others that should rank above or below them at some point.

About 40 years ago, Marvel published a super-hero encyclopedia. According to that material, Thor was about as strong as a calm Hulk. The thing is that Hulk doesn't stay calm in battle. There is no known upper bound for Hulk's strength because there is no upper bound for Hulk's rage. If Stan Lee ret-conned that later, it was a ret-con, not original material. But the whole argument is pointless because both of them are comic book characters. Their relative strength is whatever the writer of the day decides. I do remember, however, that after the Avengers fight off an alien invasion in the Avengers film, that right after Hulk barely notices that Thor gave him a punch in the shoulder, that Hulk returned it with interest and Thor was sent flying. It's not just strength, it's mass too.

I think you might be getting Thors mixed up, Marvel's Thor is not the same as the mythological Thor. There are a lot of differences. Thor in Marvel's 616 doesn't have a son. In Norse mythology Thor has a son Magni (as he does in some variant universes or future versions), in Mythology he's the god of strength and is stronger than Thor, but in marvel this isn't necesarily true even in realities where he does exist.

Again the Marvel Thor and the Norse God Thor are not identical. Marvel's Thor is based off the Norse god. Marvel's Thor has no children yet. His children have been shown in the future but even this is different, usually he has 3 daughters in marvel. Magni has been mentioned in alternate realities, I think Modi as well, but not sure. When you assume antying that is relevent to the mythological Thor also applies to Marvel's Thor (or vice versa) you are gravely mistaken.

Thor has always been considered the most powerful Avenger even when the Hulk was briefly a member from the original canon. The Hulk has always been considered the strongest although that can be debatable. I noticed from the animated Avengers Assemble series Graviton episodes that Thor was not able to move from Gravitons crushing gravity, but only the Hulk could withstand it. However, from an Avengers issue (I think 303 vol. 1), Reed Richards surmised that Thor was the only one among the group of heroes that was able to escape the near crushing gravity they succumbed to after briefly battling the Super Nova. And that included heavyweights among them such as Gilgamesh and Firelord which could not stand up to the crushing gravity (Firelord was heavily injured during his battle with the Super Nova, he would have otherwise been the only other character to have nullified the crushing gravity because of his cosmic powers). The Hulk in one story has admitted that Thor is more powerful than he is, but the Hulk was satisfied that he was stronger than Thor during one of their extended battles.

Rune King Thor is his most powerful version, placing him at the cosmic entity level like Eternity. Cosmic King Thor, who you mention, drained all the energy from a FULLY fed Galactus and then smote him. He went on to injure The Black Winter, a universe-devouring entity. The question has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with anatomy, and everything to do with the intent of those writing the script/story ... both can become as strong as needed to accomplish whatever the writers wish to tell for any given story moment du jour. That being said, both have some relevant abilities that can skew how things play out. Hulk for example gets stronger the madder he gets, and its pretty much canon that he has no upper limit on how strong he can get ... but those strength shifts happen incrementally, and each take some time to play out (kinda like Goku in DBZ climbing thru his different SS power tiers). That leaves open the possibilities of either using a psychological plot device to short circuit his rage progression (re: betty ross & natasha romamov), or KOing him at some discrete point in hisvrahe progression with supremely overpowering force (no easy feat) BEFORE he gets his next strength shift. Thor meanwhile has a loosely analagous ability to hulks rage with the nearly bottomless reservoirs of his divine might. Although Hulk's ultimate lack of an upper limit gives him an edge on paper, Thor can, at extreme need, raise his power MUCH faster than the hulk's incremental rage shifts can. In other words, in a short fight where Thor's sense of urgency & commitment exceeds Hulk's current rage level, Thor can win. However, if fight stretches on too long, or if the Hulk is given the handicap of starting the fight with his rage ALREADY at world breaker levels, Hulk wins.. Thor's recent acquisition of the Odin force doesnt really alter that much because it gives with one hand (higher baseline power and greater ease of tapping into his godly reservoir of divine might) and takes with the other (doing so accelerates the onset and duration of the odin sleep).

Thor has had Berserker Rage since birth. Don't try to slip in Wolverine or Hulk's gamma bullshit rage as a comparison -- it's the other way around, since Thor has been around thousands of years and it is part of his heritage. Without gamma radiation, there is no Hulk; however, Thor has a level of strength that he rarely uses. If he unleashed it, all the time, he'd fall into Warrior's Madness.

He was stronger than he had ever been at any point in comic books, Galactic said he was more powerful than he had ever been out of his own mouth right before Thor took his powers from him and killed him, and then proceeded to kill the black winter who is the equivalent of the great beast in DC comics

These kind of silly questions always have the same answer--A FICTIONAL character has whatever strength the writer of the STORY wants him to have. So if you want to say Superman/Hulk/Thor/Thing etc. is stronger or weaker than another character, feel free. No one can say "no, you're wrong. What would really happen is...", because it ISN'T real.

Thor has literally admitted that Hulk is stronger. Keep in mind power and strength are two different things, in terms of power Thor is more powerful but in terms of sheer physical strength Hulk is stronger.

Comic versions and film versions are always light years apart, because of this I don't think anyone really knows just who is "THE" most powerful and strongest in the marvel universe. The One Above All does not come into the equation as he is, as his name suggests, above EVERYONE. Who is physically stronger between the Hulk and Thor! I would have to give it to the Hulk. Who is the most powerful, taken into account all their abilities, I would have to say Thor is the most powerful. The marvel universe is vastly complicated and by that definition I don't think anyone, not even the writers who created these characters know the answer to that. The only way to find out would be to do a mega in depth study of every character who has ever appeared in the comic version, but only those who display true POWER, so that leaves out the likes of Iron man, Cap, spider man, Loki, Deadpool, etc, etc. Iron man could be a possible contender to mix it with the big boys but only because of his immense intelligence and technical abilities when designing a new and revolutionary piece of hardware. The true giants of power are the likes of Eternity, Galactus, Odin, The Celestials, The Living Tribunal, etc. Could Thor or the Hulk go up against any of these in a true test of power, very doubtful. Then there is the enigma of Franklin Richards, I mean were does it all end. This is why it is impossible to outright say that a certain being is the most powerful with the obvious exception of TOAA. If and whoever takes on the MAMMOTH task of finding the answer to this question everyone would like to know........good luck.

I want to see Thor godsmack the Hulk...allow me to summarize please. So it is a typical day of the Avengers to wit somewhere on earth or in space our Marvel heroes defeat an unknown foe. To the Hulk's credit, as usual, he decimates a literal army of bad guys in this battle which easily clenches the victory. Without saying the other incredible feats of power displayed by the other members of the Avengers to include that of Thor, Son of Odin, nothing but ashes remain of the earth threatening enemy who will go unexplained for now for the sake of keeping this commentary short. The jade giant still ragging after the fight is at peak incredible strength right now because of an ultra deep level of anger which makes his strength literally off the charts. I mean at this particular point in time Hulk is stronger than he has ever been to the point that 'NO' comic book hero or villain, for that matter, can engage him. Hell even the comic book writer at this point can't write Hulks power deceleration in the script. However, the god Thor, Son of Odin after this great battle has had enough. He confronts the savage raging Hulk with no help from the comic book writers or scribes and looking up to him he speaks in a firm but calm voice, "Shut it down old friend." And with those words, Hulk clenching both fist, raises his arms up above his head to smash Thor and Thor upon realizing that there is no other way, shows his frustration of this rage monster by dropping his hammer and looking at his own open palm hand with each finger extended forming a palm swatting posture to wit as the Hulk comes down with world breaking force with both fist, Thor steps back just out of reach and smacks the living shit out of Hulk so hard that it penetrates Hulk through the surf of the earth or outer space planet they defeated an unknown on such that Hulk comes out the other end of the planet and is crashed into another planet or asteroid 50 Zillion light years away resulting in him reverting back to David Banner after being godsmacked by Thor. I would like to see the godsmack added to Thor's power spectrum as an ultra powerful forces that CANNOT be overcome by any past, present or future god, hero, villain, devil, demon, witch, robot, alien, space creature, legend, magic, science or anything imageable in the world and universe of comics. 😁
