Alan Moore originally created rorschach as a way to make fun of Steve ditkos objectivist ideology, and his characters Mr.A and The question, but that went terribly wrong since rorschach became a fan favorite lol. I dont care what people say, I loved rorschach myself, he was the most honorable character in the book.

Alan Moore is a true innovator in his masterpiece. The Watchmen was his version of all the Charlton Comics heroes that DC currently owns. And Rorschach is the Question absolutely!!! Walter Kovacs is a much more tortured version of Victor Sage!!!

Soon after the Watchmen series ended, DC published a new series starring the Question. At the end of the first issue, the Question gets shot in the head. I thought this would turn him into something like Rorschach. It didn't happen.

Ha, The Charlton home being the original publishing home of the Question, the original source of Rorshach that DC bought and asked if Alan Moore could do something with these characters. He did, but wrote them into a corner so they changed all the names; Captain Atom became Dr. Manhattan, etc.

I'd say he's got the parts, but not the urge. I could see Rorschach as asexual and he sees sex and women as disgusting, so he could be sex averse as well. He might also be a sociopath and have some other disorder which suppresses his drive. Either that or a personality disorder.

Snyder made too many casting mistakes for me to enjoy the movie. The original Nite Owl was too weak. He didn't look like he could win a fight. A better choice would have been Craig T. Nelson. Nelson looks like the character in the book. Matt Goode wasn't threatening. He reminded me of, "The Church Lady" from SNL. After seeing "Prometheus" (what a stinker), I thought that Michael Fassbender would have been perfect for the role. He worked with Snyder before.

It wasn’t perfectly faithful at all, but I enjoyed his seemingly instant standing up to Rorschach with an irritated attitude breaking into his house. He was familiar with him and told him about himself early on. It took Nite Owl until the end of the graphic novel to say something that led to Rorschach apologizing. Keep in mind, as emasculated and depressed he was in the comic, he and Laurie beat the shit out of several “knot tops” who jumped them. Movie Nite Owl was way more believable as an irl person.

I hate Rorschach in every way imaginable. He represents everything wrong with superheroes in the worst light possible and every fanboy who takes him in the wrong way. Even the movie makes me sick as it glorifies his mindset without saying how inhuman he really is. No wonder Ted Cruze has a liking to him, that said a-lot.

The Watchmen is about deconstructing superheroes by showing how they are extremely flawed people. The Comedian raped and murdered innocent people. Ozymandias killed “millions to save billions” even though those billions might still have survived. As for Rorschach, he was willing to allow the end of the world to see his convictions upheld. Like you, I don’t consider these virtues but I still defend The Watchmen as an extremely well written story. Too bad it’s woefully misunderstood.
