Think of it like; a movie has an infinite number of universes and you're watching one way that the history of that universe could play out. Cuz you're right, most of the time, mutations are negative. Every once in a great while there's a mutation that makes a species stronger and you happen to be watching the version of the universe where a mutation goes well. Just an idea for solving that particular movie nuance that I like to use.

Another cool Predator is a Super Predator/Yautja hybrid named Scavage. Scavage is the descendant of Nightstorm, a Super Predator who is one of the reasons why there was a drift between the Super Predators and the Yautja (if not the primary reason). He's most recognized, in my opinion, for his coloration, a beautiful green with bluish spots here and there, and also for his Anubis inspired Bio-mask that his ancestor also wore. He only appears in one comic "Aliens vs Predator: The Ultimate Battle", where he doesn't have a too significant role, but he does have a very cool action figure that goes into all of the details of his person, including a biography. The only reason I'm really mentioning him is because of his heritage and he's the only "half-blood" Yautja that I'm personally aware of. All other Yautja hybrids are synthetic or Predaliens, but his story and heritage is what makes him stand out in the crowd. If that's not to your liking, there's also one of my favorites from my favorite crossover comic "Batman vs Predator: Volume One" where the Caped Crusader battles against a Predator dubbed the See-through Slasher. The Slasher gives Batman a run for his money much more so than most of his opponents, in fact he beat him so severely that the Bat suffered from several cracked bones, a concussion, and blindness for much of the story. After defeating him, the Slasher goes on a killing spree, killing a mob boss, the mayor of Gotham, a corrupt businessman, a police officer, and nearly successfully killing Commissioner Gordon. He's only defeated by Batman injecting him with a tranquilizer dart, which disorients him and allows Batman to defeat him. The Slasher's legacy brings a young Yautja to Earth to kill Batman out of rage or some twisted sense of vengeance.

Interesting facts about fiction, I think it's really cool how the predator franchise has grown to develop cooler predator weapons and we also have several species of yujcha. I haven't seen the movie prey that was just released and I'm trying to avoid spoilers until I can get a copy but I've been told by a friend who isn't as hardcore a fan as myself, in his words he said "the best f$&£ing predator movie he's seen out of the whole lot so that's only boosted my highly peaked interest.
