I have considered you a dear friend that I've never had a cup of coffee with for 30 years. Thru every phase of my life, (marriage, 3 children, several dogs, births, deaths, divorce, starting over, and simple pleasures), one of your songs has always managed to be just what I needed. And there is a shirt to represent each phase. Lately, I've been wearing one of my dad's old flannels. He has been gone now for 8 years, but just by wearing it, I feel a little safer. My 28 year old daughter shared your songs from home with me yesterday. My kids grew up listening to you with me and as they get older, they have a shirt to get them thru. I opened for you at Rockefellers in Houston in the late 80s or early 90s, and aside from being blown away at your talent, you shook hands with our 6 piece band (Tommu Schapper and the Buffalo Bebop band) the night before the show briefly, and the next night had remembered all of our names.
