I got Slytherin, too, 2 months ago and I was just as shocked as you were. I kinda expected myself to be sorted into either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. Well, mostly Gryffindor. But, no, I got Slytherin, instead! After a few minutes of research I realized that Slytherin made much more sense to me then the other houses. And, just like you said, I'm more than what meets the eye! :)

To be honest, I used to identify strongly with Gryffindor when I was little because of the stigmas of the houses in the the books. But recently the older I am the more I find myself relating more strongly to Slytherin. Sure I have many traits from the other houses, but recently I have realized that I do value the Slytherin traits and ambition the most. The more research that I have done, the more I realized how fitting this house is for me, and that Slytherin is really much more than what was shown in the books alone. Super glad to be a fellow Slytherin ^_^

I've taken the test quite a few times. I was always torn between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. Marybelle Sagard, I was watching Harry Potter And the Chamber of Secrets recently cause well...I am a fan! And I couldn’t help but notice that at the end of the film the Basilisk appears to lose its abilities whenever it reaches close contact with boy Harry. This happens in the tunnel when the basilisk is blinded it chases Harry into the tunnel where Harry fools it by throwing a stone down the tunnel which The basilisk takes interest in losing interest in Harry mistakenly thinking the stone is...Harry? It’s a snake, couldn’t it detect Harry’s scent with its tongue? A number of times the Basilisk could murder Harry with ease but whenever it’s near Harry it seems to lose its intelligence. Let alone when it had Harry out of options on a cliff edge and it knocks itself bloody on a rock side trying to mame Harry. I get the feeling that the serpent is confused by Harry being a horcrux - sensing Voldemort within Harry? Before you troll me guys, please watch this scene at the end and you will immediately see what I’m talking about.

marybelle sagard i've taken the pottermore quiz over 10 times, i tell you, and i've gotten all of the houses. honestly i was ultimately between ravenclaw and slytherin but i started looking up slytherin facts on pottermore and i identified with everything and im just so in love with my house. i read this post that said slytherins tend to mirror the person they're speaking to, so to speak, so it's not really being fake you just show different sides of your personality so if im talking to another slytherin i wont hesitate to be really really sarcastic bc i know they'll get it but if im talking to, say, a hufflepuff, i would act overall nicer and friendlier and less sarcastic. and i think the fact that i got such varied results on my pottermore quiz reflects that. bc i subconsciously took the test and sort of tried to seem nicer than i actually am, so i got hufflepuff, when i thought that i was ravenclaw, i got ravenclaw, bc i answered the questions thinking about traits that relate to revenclaw. i guess you could say im biassed but oh well. really, i dont think you should take the pottermore sorting for grantes, ultimately its up to you to decide which side of your personality is the most dominant and which house you identify the most with. so just take your time, do some thinking, think about the things that are most important to you and i really really recommend your search for like facts about whatever house you think you might be in and see what you identify the most with, that being said you dont necessarily have to identify with everything, and its a lot more complicated than it may seem. for example, slytherins often compete with ravenclaws to see who has the biggest grades, and they're mostly equal. thats bc slytherins hate to lose and want to come out on top of everything bc of their ambition and thats not necessarily a bad thing. it would also help to try narrowing it down to two or maybe three houses at least, mostly just by elimination process, and then you'll figure out which house thinks the most like you. i just wanted to say this bc i know there are a lot of people out there struggling with this so i hope i could help those people in some way. slytherin rules guys, just saying.

This is incorrect. Nymphadora Tonks was sorted into Hufflepuff, but her mother, Andromeda Tonks (maiden name Black), was a Slytherin. Along with her two Aunts Bellatrix Lestrange and Narcissa Malfoy (The Black Family lineage). Speaking of the Black family, Sirius Black was sorted into Gryffindor. As mentioned in this video, Harry Potter's (Gryffindor) son, Albus Severus Potter, was sorted into Slytherin. The Patil sisters (Twins), Parvati and Padma were NOT in the same house! Parvati was sorted into Gryffindor, meanwhile Padma was sorted into Ravenclaw. In regards to the test, I haven't gotten any of my family members to take the test. However, my fiance is a Ravenclaw, but I'm a Slytherin. I'll have to test out the Family Members taking the test theory to be true, if I can get my own family members, to take the test.

Wrong argumentation. But all bad guys are not Slytherin either. Pettigrew was a Gryffinwhore and Quirrel was a Ravenflaw. There are numerous other examples.

Thats wrong. Many bad guys are Gryffindor, like Peter Pettigrew and Sirius Black & James Potter were very mean bullies who bullied Snape from Slytherin.

I took the Pottermore quiz six times. 4 out of 6 times, I've been sorted into Slytherin. The other two were Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. Also, fun fact: the only Purebloods in the HP series come from a collection of families known as the "Sacred Twenty-Eight: Abbott, Avery, Black, Bulstrode, Burke, Carrow, Crouch, Fawley, Flint, Gaunt, Greengrass, Lestrange, Longbottom, Macmillan, Malfoy, Nott, Ollivander, Parkinson, Prewett, Rosier, Rowle, Selwyn, Shacklebolt, Shafiq, Slughorn, Travers, Weasley, and Yaxley. For some odd reason, the Potters aren't included on this list because Henry Potter had strong pro-Muggle beliefs when he was alive. Strangely enough, the Weasleys are also very pro-Muggle and take a regular interest in the Muggle world but they're still on the list. Honestly, speaking from a logical standpoint, you'd probably be a Muggleborn. Harry Potter is a half-blood because his mother was a Muggleborn and his father was a Pureblood. Severus Snape and Tom Riddle Jr. were also half-bloods.

I took the Pottermore quiz four times. I got Ravenclaw twice and Slytherin twice. So I just considered myself a Ravenclaw with Slytherin traits, or vice versa

I've taken this quiz on 4 different occasions for the last few years, and despite sharing some qualities with the other houses I also got Slytherin each result which was is honestly no surprise. As a young kid when I first the Harry Potter books and watched the films, I always looked at myself as a "Gryffindor kid" as many of us probably did, but as I got older I identified more and more with Slytherin and Snape's character. I personally know what it's like to be treated as an outcast by your peers at school, and then growing up to show little compassion towards others than the ones who loved you back, which in Snape's case was Lilly Potter.

I recently had to renew my pottermore account because it was in the old version. Before I say which house I am in I just need to mention that I was originally a Gryffindor and now I am proudly a Slytherin. To be honest, at first I was shocked but when I checked out some of the information on the website I was actually excited- I mean Slytherin, for one, is not the most generic house, it was Merlin's house, it is Albus Severus Potter's house, we have a cool animal and element, and a lot of awards. Despite the common belief that Slytherin is evil, there was no reason to believe that until Voldemort. I also think that the traits and element suit me. So yeah, Slytherin is pretty cool. (I'm wearing my Slytherin Quidditch hoodie rn btw)
