The Mask was I believe his big break, he went from being known to just a handful of Americans due to being in the Wayans' brothers sketch comedy show 'In Living Color' to being known around the world, but I agree that Ace Ventura shot him to super stardom. One fantastic movie he was in while still relatively unknown was the 1988 surreal musical comedy Earth Girls Are Easy with Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum where he plays a furry alien called Wiploc.

Jeff Daniels doesn't typically play comedic roles, but Jim Carrey and the Farrelly brothers wisely decided that having two comedic leads could result in an endlessly escalating one-upmanship, and decided to cast a more serious actor to play against Carrey. I loved it so much when it came out that I saw it twice in the same weekend. My favorite scene that had me laughing for several minutes was the bathroom scene. I grew up with the 3 stooges, Laurel & Hardy, The Marx Brothers, Abbott & Costello, and Martin & Lewis. This movie added Lloyd and Harry.

There actually were two guys who recreated the mini bike travel to Aspen and they actually found the exact bike for they're ride. They dressed the same way as Harry and Loyd and what they did was chronicle the tribulations of the adventure including problems they may have faced if it was a real life travel( the bike broke down, the chain snapped, a flat tire etc.) They even took a road not shown in the movie they think Harry and Loyd would have taken because of the possibility for the strain on the bike...it was a gravelly road but much shorter to their destination. It was quite funny watching their escapade. And they actually spent the night in a motel on the way to Aspen sneaking the bike into their room. The thing they did not do when they reached in Aspen was the scene in the movie where Harry and Loyd were glued together getting off the bike that people including me watching, were waiting for. However, to go through all that they did is true fanfare...wow, and they posted that on KZbin I think it was last year sometime and quite the adventure of these two gentlemen. Tic tac sir?
