Something us book readers really appreciate is that Hot D is doing a stellar job bringing up small worldbuilding details GoT left out. i.e. the fight at the begining of this episode was between a Blackwood and a Bracken; 2 rival houses which have been feuding for 1000's of years.

Possible spoiler for those who have not read the book. I also enjoyed the Blackwood / Bracken scene. I just hope they don't get Rhaenyra pregnant with Ser Criston but with the right person. In the book, Ser Criston rejects her as faithful to his vow of Kingsguard. Nothing happened between them but with another character. I hope it happens in the next one just before the wedding.

​@@mat7506 Well we don't know exactly. The maester in "Fire & Blood" claimed that Ser Criston rejected Rhaenyra while courtroom jester Mushroom claims that Ser Criston did couple with Rhaenyra. Fire and Blood is an in-universe history book written by multiple biased people. So no true record of events that transpired

@@pwlpc Actually got that backwards. The Maester talks up conflicting accounts from Septon Eustace and Mushroom. Eustace said the scandal was Daemon and Rhaenyra being caught together while Mushroom said Daemon only seduced her after Criston rejected her. As for the paternity of her eldest children: the likely suspect from Blood and Fire has been a background character (and was the guard who let her pass in the alley.)

I'm not sure why people are ever surprised by the incest in Westeros. It's pretty much their main thing. The king isnt' trying to protect Rhaenyra so much as her honor. Might seem a minor distinction but he's even willing to risk her life with that abortion potion in order to protect her honor and by extension his. Either Daemon or his mistress, Mysaria, are the ones who made sure the child informant told Otto about Rhaenyra's behavior in the brothel. Whichever it was Daemon definitely wanted the King to find out.

I think Miseria played a game of her own here; she tipped off Otto (the name given to him by the guards was her nickname in the books) and knew he was too greedy to not pounce on the opportunity, which ended up looking too obvious of a play given Otto's familial interests. I don't know if Daemon played a role in that or if she is trying to move into royal circles or what.

Well at least Viscerys didn't shrink down and crawl inside a Urethra. lol There is an old legend about the Iron Throne that if the king is not worthy to sit on it it will kill him and from the looks of Viscerys wounds and that every time he sits the throne it cuts him and leaves a festering wound it could be seen as he is not worthy. But in reality he probably just has some kind of disorder that makes healing difficult for him possibly necrotising fasciitis and considering his parents were brother and sister it is a product of Targaryen Inbreeding that made him physically weak.

I saw a funny comment on another video that was saying Otto could be secretly pouring poison that he got from the Grand Maester all over the Iron Throne every day and when Viserys cuts himself, little bits of that poison linger and stay within his blood and is slowly killing him over time and progresses each time he cuts himself. I doubt it, but it is still a fun theory to think about.

I think the moon tea is a dilemma for Rhaenyra. If she drinks it, they will assume that she laid with Daemon. If she doesn't, she runs the risk that she may be pregnant with Ser Cristin's child, and then they'll still assume that she laid with Daemon and she won't easily be able to hide it from anyone. Her choice here will likely have consequences.

Something to know for the world in general that was not picked up in game of thrones is rather the Brackens and the Blackwoods have the number one centuries long blood feud in Westeros. The kid was a Blackwood, the guy he stabbed a Bracken (hence why he was mocking him in the first place).
