I completely understand why Sylvie did it. To her it wasn't pointless; it was her life's mission for who knows how many hundreds of years. Sylvie did trust Loki in the end but she couldn't have him in the way of her revenge. She didn't care about the repercussions no matter what he said. Loki's character arc took this long to redeem him. Sylvie's life has been all about vengeance and this is how it ended. She will now have to live with the consequences of her actions thus her character arc has only just begun. I hope Loki can help redeem her somehow in season 2.

In Russian, we have a saying: «We wanted to do the best, but it turned out as always (means in a bad way)». So, now when I’m thinking about Selvie she reminds me Ferro Maljin from Abercrombies book-cycle. As Loki said, he is the one, who cannot be trusted. But, as we saw in the end, he’s not. He became something bigger than that, something different from that envious trickster we all known. Now his allies can trust him. And what about Selvie? She is the Loki, that «couldn’t trust anyone else». And she didn’t changed. She faced the pure love of Loki and trusted him, but has no inner strength to handle that feeling of trust that he put at her. And that’s why she destroys their relationship. Because it’s still to scary to trust somebody, even if she knows that he’s not lying to her.

I don’t really blame Sylvie for what she did. Kang admitted to lying to them. Her entire world was destroyed because of him just because she was a good kid. She spent thousands of years running and hiding from the the agency that this man created. She had absolutely no reason to believe The One Who Remains about the multiversal war when he’s only ever shown to do horrible things to Sylvie and others. She’s not going to give up on her insanely long plan just because Loki says to trust him and because of the words coming from his mouth that could be lies. She did hesitate but again, there’s just no reason for her to trust that man. She always knew it was possible for Loki to lie and betray too so she couldn’t really trust him either. We didn’t get a ton of Sylvie in the series so it makes sense for her not to develop just yet. When we see her fall at her knees, that could be regret.. or it could be a sigh of relief, possibly both.

"He Who Remains" is based on a character in the comics named Nathaniel Richards, sometimes suggested to be the 31st-century descendant of Reed and Susan Richards of the Fantastic Four, or possibly instead the descendant of the Fantastic Four's occasional-ally-but-usually-archenemy Doctor Doom. He has (or various versions of him have) also gone by the names of Rama-Tut, Immortus, Scarlet Centurion, and Kang the Conqueror, among others. He is scheduled to (re)appear in at least one upcoming Marvel movie. He's usually a villain but sometimes a hero (given his multiple versions across different timelines, or even the same guy at different points in the same timeline). Ravonna is traditionally linked with Kang, usually as an ally and love interest but sometimes as an enemy.

Some people seem very confused about the ending, here’s what I interpreted based off of all the information we have so far lol - 1.) Yes we meet Kang in this episode but not Kang the Conquerer because this is not the evil version of Kang that Conquers shit 2.) Loki did not enter a TV from a different Timeline because the TVA doesn’t belong to a time line of universe it exists outside of time which means there can’t be multiple TVA’s just the one. 3.) The reason Mobius and B-15 don’t remember Loki is because when Sylvie killed Kang or “He Who Remains”, she altered the past, present and future meaning everything we’ve seen so far technically hasn’t happened now. 4.) The reason the TVA was still effected even if it didn’t belong to a time line or time doesn’t even exist there is because the TVA was still something created because of the timelines and because the past, present, and future were changed the creation of the TVA was also changed making this an essentially new TVA but the same TVA

Call him Kang, if you wish. Or Immortus. He has many incarnations. I've read that Kang will be the villain in Ant-Man & Wasp: Quantumania, after which we shall see Dr. Strange: Multiverse of Madness. I'll bet they even weave What If? into this.

In the comics, the only thing keeping original Earth safe from Kang is that all other the Kang the Conquerers are fighting to keep one of themselves from succeeding, but once in a while one of them breaks thru to our here and now.
