I can't imagine eating seafood of any kind WITHOUT "Old Bay" seasoning. My son married a Mississippi girl and the Walmarts around Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf Coast sell Old Bay in sizes that I could only dream of. My supermarket in CA carries tins of Old Bay seasoning that are shamefully small for someone who loves seafood as much as I do.

@Stevie Rios--My step-grandfather would go out fishing for catfish in the wee dark hours of a Sunday morning (this was before fishing licenses) and when we got back from church, there he'd be, cleaning the catfish. It was a much-anticipated breakfast treat. For Sunday dinner, my grandmother would make oyster (pot) pie. I'd beg for some and my and finally get a bit (kids didn't get oyster pie). I'd happily eat it--loved the stuff--and my father would shake his head and say, "You are a STRANGE child". Yep, I was--and he told me so many times in my childhood.

Maryland born and raised on the bay and always in the water. Old Bay on before the pot, after in the pot and after out of the pot but we use vinegar, beer and old bay. Melt some butter and put a tiny bit of old bay in it and enjoy. Love the videos and blessings to you and the family.

I was a vegetarian when I met my husband. While pregnant I watched the hunting channel because of all the amazing animals. Well uncle Ted gave a speech about vegetarianism and veganism and it made me feel bad. So I called my then BF (now hubby) and told him I wanted to try hunting. That weekend he bought me a diamond bow and the next month while 8 months pregnant I climbed the appalachians to go deer hunting. We only seen a few small does and nothing the size to harvest. 2 weeks later I had my daughter..... when I went into labor my hubby was in his tree stand. Now I've taken 2 deer and clean and butcher all of our animals. I love hunting and the peace it brings. So gals reading this, try it. Men reading this, teach her. Or Visa versa

I'm from Maryland and have blue crabs every weekend when they're in season. The mustard is one of the best parts, but you guys down in the south clean it out. I never understood that. Got a recommendation for you on the butter. Add a little apple cider vinegar (probably about 2-3 table spoons to what you have) and some garlic salt. Once you try it with your crabs, you'll never go back to plain butter. Also, Old Bay is good, but JO #2 is the seasoning most Maryland folk use. It just a tad better. Love your videos! Keep them coming.

As a kid I used to always go on these "fishing trips" to baja CA with my uncles and I would get all excited and they would always come up with a BS excuse to why we couldn't fish that day, they would always leave at night n leave me and my cousins at the cabins and come back the next morning with store bought fish. Growing up I realized they would take us as a cover up to go party, probably bang hookers dam well knowing we were never gonna actually fishing. I know this is an older video but am replying anyway. Old Bay seasoning is the seasoning that got me into cooking and eventually into becoming a hot sauce addict. If you want to really bring out the flavor in seasoning, combine some old bay with a quarter of the amount of old bay with everglades seasoning. If it's too salty for you, add a small amount of brown sugar or honey to it. BON APPETIT!!

In the summer in ct we catch blue crabs all of the time and they get up to around 8 inches tip to tip. The soft shells we use as striped bass bait and immediately we catch them. Within minutes.

I’ve grown up in Maryland my whole life as kids we always used old Bay seasoning with my grandfather as I’ve gotten older I’ve been using JO spice for the past 15 years and incorporates all of the seasonings are used as a kid in one My grandfather would use the old Bay seasoning but would also use coarse black pepper coarse salt celery seed and yellow mustard And when we steamed not boiled our crabs he would always use newspaper at the top to keep the steam in phenomenal

So, it would appear my kids have found your channel man. We can't get through a day (sometimes an hour) without watching one of your videos. My oldest daughter's favorite are your crab segments (like this). She keeps saying we have to go crab fishing in Florida. Told her we may not be able to meet you or go with you though...lol It's just pretty awesome to see her more and more get into the outdoors...
