IAF literature placed an order of 97 mk1a after the previous 83(i think) mk1 orders They ordered, but they can't even receive it it's not their fault dude It's GE's fault for f-ing us over and the govt's fault for not investing in High altitude Test Facilities, Flying testbeds or kaveri engine at all *Im not sure about the exact numbers

The only news that will be significant is the news of equipments succesfully inducted into armed forces at the right time. These developments will come into use only when GoI gives approval and DRDO completes projects before the tech (being developed) itself becomes obsolete ! So this news should not be a reason to celebrate at all !

Will Tejas Mk2 and AMCA feature a upgraded variant of GTRE KAVERI after delivering a considerable number of those to IAF, because this is necessary seeing the incapability of GE to deliver F404-IN20 and any chance to eliminate that they might delay the 20% technology they are holding to them. For KAVERI to replace F414 or F404, they have to match the dry thrust of 58kN and wet thrust of 98kN and also by decreasing the weight and diameter and higher bypass ratio.
