My one and only man-crush, Masato the Silver Wolf! He had so many awesome fights, against top tier fighters like - Buakaw - Albert Kraus - Zambidis - Arthur Keshyenko - Andy Souwer I followed his fights from 2002 to 2008, never missing a single fight. I was sad when he retired, but happy that he has moved on to better things as one shouldn't fight past their prime. He will forever be a legend in K1. Let's face it, k1 max basically died after Masato left.

Grew up watching buakaw on espn, so this is really cool to see masato in a human light as opposed to the "opponent." For anyone that doesnt know, masato was consistently beating top thai fighters. So its really cool to see him teaching and learning with thai fighters.

Ya you can see how even after he threw the uppercut combo numerous times there was no defense to it from the Thai fighter. Kinda reminded me of Tyson uppercuts just sneaking in there and causing lots of damage even when it didn't fully land.

i think superbon struggles with this technique because it requires a more bladed boxing stance. his stance is a very traditional squared off muay thai stance with his feet at 90 degrees and not too spaced apart. For this technique i believe you need to be lighter on your feet, wider stance, even weight, and less than 90 degree placement.

This is part of it. I think Superbon has spent his whole life using that lead pivot hook to create space for a rear kick, not an uppercut. So he isn't used to hopping into a deep stance to fire off a strong punch like Masato is. Superbon's body is telling him to pivot farther away from Masato's foot and stay tall to create space for a kick.

Thai fighters usually dont have good boxing, at least his type of muay thai. Hes not really a muay mat

I boxed for years and whenever I've sparred MMA/Muay thai guys I've always caught them with long, left screw shots and uppercuts for exactly the reason you've mentioned.

This is pure boxing technique, so footwork is coordinated with punches...Superbon would eventually get it, but it is bit different than Muay Thai..

First technique is Similar with karate and boxing technique. Creating ANGLE and then PIVOT, ATTACK at the SAME TIME, but the different is that MASATO-SAN do it on the INSIDE.. It is quite risky and requires lot of speed since you can not stand too long inside your opponent. SALUTE to MASATO-SAN... 🙏🙏🙏

Respect! These Japanese fighters are no joke. Oss!!! Sets it up, by throwing a jab/hook, upper cut to the solar plexus and then repeat the combo but throw the upcut to the chin. Will keep your opponent guessing.
