It's possible. It would take some work, but it's possible. Dune is a fully capable complex 3rd party VST & its presets can be browsed from the hardware as well as manipulating the sounds. Of course I'm not expecting it to show the full GUI or ANY for that matter. Just a basic one like the GUI we get on the MPC in standalone with TubeSynth.

Theres MPC's for over $2K especially when the X was first released. If NI came out with a Maschine Studio MK2, built in interface, pre amps, Mic jack, headphone jack, Touch screens with drag and drop functionality, Standalone, upgradable memory, storage options ....I'd buy one TODAY! I just need Komplete integration in Trakchine 3. Plus all they gotta do is include Komplete Ultimate 13 collectors edition for FREE and it would be well worth every penny. 🤷‍♂️

I have a MacBook Pro 2015 with 2,9 GHz, 16 Gb ram and 1867 mHz DDR3, and I can't have that many plugins before it starts lagging. 3 or 4 max since I installed Mojave (it was much better before). I don’t see the point of standalone unless they pack powerful X86 laptop internals inside it ..(which would def be cool, mind you) ...They should just focus on making a more powerful iOS version for people who want to sketchbook ideas on the go if they don’t plan to go all out.. I’d love to have a standalone capable of running VSTs though, no doubt.. internals as powerful as 2018 Mac Mini could be added for $500-600 - putting the unit in the $1500 range - Maybe $2000 for a superman version.

Dope video man! I may be wrong of course but I don't think we're getting an MK4 soon tbh. They released the MK3 because they needed to catch up to the Push 2, which had better build quality and color screen. As for the software - I'd love a proper arrangement mode too, but after 2.9, they've just released 2.10 lol Standalone - NI have never in they 24-year history created anything that works without computer, and your point about Komplete integration being important is very valid - they can't do this on a standalone.
@BlezzBeats
@BlezzBeats 4 жыл бұрын
I'm leaning a lot toward what you're saying in my speculation too. I have no problem with the arrangement method how it is now tho, I feel like the "song view" thing might overcomplicate things when it comes to the controller integration. But I heard it's in the pipeline, we'll see if they stick to it.

What it really needs is a software overhaul. The hardware is good as is. Personally, I can't imagine the release of a new machine without a major software upgrade. I would predict (2022/2023) either for maschine 3.0 without new hardware, or for maschine 3.0 with maschine mk4 (with more buttons? actually it seems complicated to add things in the current format. Otherwise add a touch screen) and maybe a maschine+ mk2 in the process. But big question about what the next maschine controller will look like. If they want to keep the current format I don't see anything else than adding a touch screen to have more controls. Which implies a total redesign of the user interface. Finally, I don't bet on a touch screen but rather a new mk4 controller a bit bigger.

Maschine standalone is coming, one of NI's people told me when I asked him specifically about the new Maschine during IMSTA FESTA @ SAE New York....... He said it you will be able to have the whole Komplete library on it also, he also said that if you wanna plug it to a computer, it will be possible too............I didn't ask him the price, but I estimate it's gonna cost the price of a current Maschine + Library + i7 laptop, so around 2k

If it can run Komplete (VSTs and all) - what would the need for hooking up to a computer be I wonder. It would have to be a pretty powerful x86 computer on its own to be able to handle such a workload.
@manueltilca
@manueltilca 4 жыл бұрын
Adams Brew you just need a powerful cpu , i7 or i9....... this new system would only be working with the maschine software , the current ones depend on windows or Mac , right now when you run maschine, windows and Mac are running tons of software in parallel , and maschine doesn’t use the full power of the cpu because of that, and that’s why it lags sometimes
@AdamsBrew78
@AdamsBrew78 4 жыл бұрын
@@manueltilca Yeah, I’ve used MPC Live and prefer my Maschine MK3 - I understand how it works now, just hoping the next iteration really is a game changer and not just a glorified MPC Live clone in standalone mode. If it’s really going to be able to handle Komplete in standalone, they’ve either got to port the plugins to ARM instruction set (running on a customized android OS) or go with a windows based X86 laptop internals. I somewhat doubt they’ll really go with X86 though - it’ll put em in a price bracket they might not feel comfortable pushing into and they probably don’t want to deal with support issues that such a complex platform entails. MPC Live is based on ARM/android - a much easier and cost-effective way to do things. I’d bet that’s the way NI goes as well, maybe porting a limited version of Kontakt and a few other plugins. I seriously doubt it’ll encompass the entire Komplete 12 library though. That’s a pretty monumental undertaking.

Both Maschine and MPC are great pad based sampler/sequencers. I've got both. My MPC is an old MPC500 so it's sound is more gritty than the Maschine. Maschine sounds clean so it's ideal for pop and the latest types of genres. MPC has a more grimy sound and suits Boom Bap, Jungle, Reggae and Dancehall a lot more. That's not to say that either can't do any of the genres but for me IMO I have preferences as to what to use for certain genres to get the sound that I want. I can't really tell when it comes to the sound of the X/Live/One until I have a go at making full beats with one and listening to it's sound for myself to confirm that the new generation MPC still have the warm sound of the old school ones. It will be interesting to find out.
@BlezzBeats
@BlezzBeats 4 жыл бұрын
I agree they're both great, when it comes to the Maschine it all depends on what type of soundcard you got tho. Mostly any sampler including mpcs post 12bit is pretty indistinguishable soundwise so its more about what you do with them. I got a MPC500 to mess around with last week actually! Did you get the pad upgrade? Mine seems like its barely been touched so they're not beaten in and responsive enough yet. I really gotta smash em and sometimes the batteries seem to dislocate cause it restarts from it lol.
@RoomAtTheTopStudio
@RoomAtTheTopStudio 4 жыл бұрын
@@BlezzBeats Yeah I used to occasionally get the restart problem. I'm used to how to bang the pads now so I don't need to adjust the velocity but you can do that in the press mode then pad 6 Program and scroll for the settings for velocity. I've not pimped mine out yet and I still only have the original 16mb memory on mine so I just create then transfer to my DAW or 4 track tape channel. Each series from the early MPC range has a different sound. Play a 2000 next to a 2000XL and you will hear straight away that there is a difference. Play a 2000XL next to a 2500 and you will hear a difference because the body of one is metal and the body of the other is plastic. That's my theory anyhow. After that it's how you use it. That said here is one to try. Take a sample and build a track with it in your 500 then take the sample and build the same track again in Maschine. The difference is like "Wow!!" Now it's a case of preference.

That would be a sweet cherry on top! Never missed the function myself. Have you tried using the audio engine? Kind of a workaround and it doesn't trigger the sample from the top every time you hit the keys but you can do some cool stuff with that.

NIs new vision! To make their products even more I.T over music. I still haven’t had a valid reply to “What is Kontakt for?”. It’s a sequencer inside a (DAW) sequencer. What’s the point? It’s just more connections and messing around with un music stuff. NI should make products for musicians. They’ve always made products for I.T consultants which happen to make music. Voted (by me and my correct opinion) “Worst music company in history”. Along with Air.
@BlezzBeats
@BlezzBeats 4 жыл бұрын
Thats not my experience at all, I think most of their products are very intuitive. The only thing that can be a bit "IT" is that you have to install them. Kontakt is many things but first and foremost a sample player. Some of the best sounding multi-sampled instruments have been put together for it.

Blezz beats...it’s a subjective thing I know...as all art should be. But with the Soundtoys 5 Fx bundle, Omnisphere, Bitwig, Breaktweaker and Stutter Edit I think 8 have the whole spectrum of possible audible audio to use. Without having to bigger about with NIs nonsense. I did love Maschine though. Beautifully built. Just not really for real musicians. NI are for I.T consultants. That may be a reason why, last week, I tested the UK Top 20 and found that every song is in 4/4. Every verse, chorus and bridge of every song is in 4/4. That isn’t art. That’s Ford. Music is about Ferrari’s. This analogy continues but I’m sure you wouldn’t want me to bore you further with it. I do have a valid point though mate. To some degree. And surprise surprise! Billy Eilish has a mental health problem. She’s got Tourette’s!!! Yeah alright. You can’t be celebrity these days without having a fashionable mental health illness can you. Don’t I go on! Sorry mate. But people find what I say interesting. And mostly new. More by luck than my own intellect I reckon.

Blezz beats...I’m not sold on the MPC One at all. I’d take the Live all day long over the One. Brilliant video you’ve done here. NI think getting rid of a lot of their loyal workforce will somehow improve them. But as long as I’ve loved you get less for less. Never more for less. But who knows? Not fucking me. And my football team (Luton) lost yesterday. Useless tossers! I’m Mr.Angry today. But my hated rivals (the piss coloured yellow belly bastards...watfud) lost 3-0 to ManUtd this afternoon. Which is very funny.

I would because 1. You can get it pretty damn cheap and 2. So far all Maschine software has been backwards compatible. If I had money to spare I'd get a MPC One, would not pick it over the MK3 BUT if I was only using samples I might have! Working with samples is still faster on Maschine much because of that golden duplicate button and the absence of that extra layer of dealing with programs, but the whole standalone thing has an allure to it I must admit.
