What's the order of FX when you're running a single instrument through few pads simultaneously? Does it mean we can easily switch FS order by moving pads around? I will check it myself in few minutes; asking for completeness.
@substance9027 күн бұрын
They are in parallel that way so there is no specific order. If you want to order them in series, just add multiple effects on the same sound slot.

Thank you. Been watching your channel for a few years, always informative and accurate. I have just swapped out my years old Tascam US2000 for the 16 Rig and immediately want to make an affects send and return for guiar but mailnly for keys/synths or other sound sources I have (Circuit and Circuit Mono Station). Will the Maschine add more than I can add using a Eventide H90. I am sure it has many features which I am reading about as I write. I see you use the Maschine all the time and are fluid with it. It does appeal to me. Are effects as good as a H90?

Jeff, thank you again for another great video. Quick question I’m hoping you can answer regarding native instruments keyboards. I have the original S 88 keyboard, and I want to update to take advantage of all the offerings of the latest model. I’m noticing that you have two keyboards on your desk. Am I correct to think that I can keep my S 88, and simply get the latest version 25 keys and integrate them (using the 25 keyboard to access and control the NI software)? Thanks for your time. I think it would make a great video how you connect the keyboards and utilize the smaller one to access the latest updates with the Komplete Kontrol software. Have a lovely holiday.
@jefgibbons Жыл бұрын
For sure! Keep the s88 as a controller, a beautiful weighted controller… but it won’t work for browsing or choosing patches… then you can have other keyboards set up for anything else. I regularly have a bunch set up! I use the Osmose for lead playing etc and use the s61 mk3 for patches with key switches when I want the lights!

Cool application... Also... Maschine+ can process 8 mono inputs or 4 stereo inputs with an external audio interface hooked up directly thru usb. 👍 Even more creative routing can be dreamed up. Perfect for analog Mixers, DJs and live Performers.

UA hardware is ace, their pedals are very high quality and the stereo processing is a must. I've used an LA-610 mkII preamp/compressor for vocal tracking for many years, everything that goes through it becomes smooth sonic chocolate, so good. I've mastered through it too, but it's a pain in the butt because of the single channel.

@VentureNW Жыл бұрын
I think the problem (and for that matter, the love) of Maschine is the almost DAW like interface, that doesn't play well with actual DAWs. When - I hope - they update it, they really need to figure out how to interface it better with DAWs, Kontact, etc. A lot of my patches are in Komplete Kontrol and they are used very often, to say the least. The new MK3 keyboards went literally to Kontakt, with a sprinkling of Komplete Kontrol - like they flipped it on us. I am not even on the fence of buying their new keyboard, as I have been sort of waiting to see what Novation drops in January, at NAMM. Unless NI buys all the companies (they might) - I don't see everyone adopting\implementing NKS.
@jefgibbons Жыл бұрын
I'm quite nervous about my high profile projects that have Komplete Kontrol implemented... might be a good idea to go future proof them by switching them to just Kontakt!

I think Maschine 2 software will no longer be developed. Why? I used Resource Hacker to make the UI bigger for the VST and saw that everything is built with small pixel fragments. They need to rewrite the whole thing to make it scalable and 4k. Considering how they did KK3, well... A step backwards from KK2, and KK2 was a step backwards from its predecessor. Before KK2 you could layer sounds, save the setups, etc. Not sure how they think!? I mean you build up a patch in KK with effects and you cannot save it?
@jefgibbons Жыл бұрын
Interesting info! I know nothing about those kinds of things, but a full redesign is necessary on Kontakt as well, the text is just so tiny and we need scalability! We'll see what the future holds... for now I'm having an incredible time making music with all of this tech!
@ABStudioProductions699 ай бұрын
@@jefgibbons agree Text is tiny, is and pixelated on a lot of my Native Instruments DAWs - standalone as well as when loading in Studio One as an instrument (Mac and PC)

The complete abandonment of the M+ is a travesty. It's such a brilliant bit of gear held back by a few minor software issues. No updates in over a year is ridiculous in this day and age, especially for a flagship item. Really appreciate all the M+ vids you've done, got me up to speed on this new-to-me ecosystem quickly back when I grabbed mine. Just in time for NI radio silence 😂 I'll keep my fingers crossed, they did do that survey after all...
@jefgibbons Жыл бұрын
Yup! I did the survey too... keeping my hopes up! And yeah... it is an amazing piece of gear when you break it down and compare it to similar things out there! Somehow other weaker devices get hyped, don't understand it!
@Sypher474 Жыл бұрын
@@jefgibbons From a former Maschine outsider perspective, I think despite efforts from yourself and the amusing Swedish(?'welcome to the black hole') guy who's name I appear to have now forgotten, there is a dire lack of good video educational content for Maschine+. I work at a pretty high level in the IT industry, and I had to put some genuine effort into learning the device. What may seem intuitive to the longterm NI audience was a huge departure in a lot of ways for me. I scoured youtube for every tutorial video possible, and there genuinely isn't that much out there worth watching. Most pieces of the puzzle came through trial and error, and the admittedly pretty good online manual. I generally tend to learn the most quickly from watching people use a device for real, however. Frustratingly all the MKIII content was useless to me the moment the user hopped over to the computer screen. Specifically doing everything on the hardware is what I wanted, and it just wasn't there in volume. Something about the marketing, the name M+ being a bit vague maybe... Just feels like they dropped the ball a bit early on and never caught up. Just like they squandered their brief moment in the sun with the amazing early days of Traktor. Oh yeah, that's twice I've been burned by NI in different areas! Didn't connect those dots until right now 😅 Long rant over, sorry! My anger is out of love. 'You have so much wasted potential!'

Last I heard they're not abandoning it. Native Instruments is still putting out howto genre videos and has a lot of vested interest in Maschine (interviews, Maschine packs, etc). In the Q&A for Komplete MK3 they mentioned support wasn't added initially for Maschine and the keyboards, which I imagine would likely require a rehaul of the Maschine UI to support one screen. Otherwise the developers will need to continue to support two UI's
