When I was kid, I thought that this was the most beautiful car ever made. Admittedly, I was not aware of the existence of the 1961 250GT California Spider. But this Maserati is still in my top 5.

I had two! The 3.7 was the better engine. Getting rid of the Lucas injection and installing Webers made a big difference, especially in the sound. The tach was red-lined at 5500 or 5800 (I forget). What a joke! These engines would really talk to you above 6K. My 3.7 was modified and would burn rubber all the way through first gear and halfway through second, if you wanted to show off. I kept the 4-litre stock and it was very reliable. I have to remember all this was forty years ago! I kept the 3.7 over ten years and it was my only car for two of those years. We did have some adventures, let me tell you...
