I'm very impressed with how he cares about the cook's feelings, only pointing out the generic issues. No one likes to be humiliated on TV. It takes courage to present your food to millions, and Fieri evidently realizes that. He's the polar opposite of Gordon Ramsey. That said, I know a chef who actually knows Ramsey, and claims that his over the top delivery is pretty much an act. He called him "completely different" in real life.
@sajohnson092 жыл бұрын
It's kind of funny but I think that may actually be true. I used to actually not like Ramsey at all as in I thought he was just a dick 100% of the time. Then I saw this one clip of him describing a pie a blind contestant of his made him, he went into such detail to reassure her because she thought she messed it up and he was gonna be upset. I also saw something he did on shark fin soup and it was almost like he was a different person than what I was used to seeing from him, I didn't really know what to think, but it was definitely interesting to see a different side to him.

Ramsey has actually said why he is a dick to the competitors. He feels that what he asks then to do should be basics if they want to win the competition. You can see it in how he treats the kids. He knows they might not know everything at that point.

I work at a Ramsay restaurant, and have only met him twice, but when he's come round he's been super friendly and nice to everyone. I think when he was working in the actual kitchens 15-20 years ago, the shouting and stress would've been real because he was literally performing at world level at a 3* restaurant every night, but that's just part of the job and how the industry was back then. Nowadays, he's a whole brand and has dozens of restaurants and tv shows, so he has people to get angry and yell for him, so i think he's chilled out in his later years, hahah

@HunterMann Жыл бұрын
Whether he has 3 million or 300 million that doesn’t mean he has any class or a sense of aesthetic. After all, he is famous for doing reviews of greasy diners and dives and even says it in the title of his show. A lot of people dislike him in Sonoma county but he aggressively attached himself to specific geographic zones to try to get good publicity. during natural disasters in Northern California he set up a barbecue to feed firefighters and other volunteers, that was fine but the problem is he went to a lot of expense and effort to make sure that he got lots of publicity out of it. It was sickening to see him kissing up to the news crews so he could publicize it on private businesses by handing out may be a few thousand dollars worth of barbecue, big deal he probably wrote it off as a business promotion expense. The guy is all about the money is not so soulful as people would think, and don’t be fooled by his “soul patch“ that he wears under his lower lip, trying to look like a hipster. Take away the haircut the goofy clothes the surfer biker whatever he has luck you just have a regular cook that’s all, I’d hire him as a line cook at a busy restaurant but certainly not as the head chef.
