Undoubtedly Mahatma Gandhi was one of the greatest individuals of any period, however, he was not a Brahman but a Bania. A pure merchant caste. I was posted in Kashmir many of the Muslims (both Shiaa nd Sunnis) in Kashmir are from the Aryan Kashmiri Brahman background whom accepted Semitic-Islam a fine religion like any other. Undoubtedly Nehru was a Brahman and Sardar Pratap Singh Kairon a Jat-Sikh were the kind of leaders we need as of now. Like Nehru Kairon also had a great education and he was product on his own merit from University of California, Berkeley.
