You can create a really cool solo build using Bakris. If you use the whisper of hedrons to increase your damage after freezing an enemy, and combine it with tractor cannon, then use an arc slug for dps, you can effectively double your damage by yourself. I love the way this helmet works, man.

Would you like to explore how Symmetry works with the Mask? I think the weapon is pretty slept on in general, at 20 stacks it melts lost sector bosses and all nearby ads for 10 straight seconds, it's practically a special weapon in alt. fire except it never runs out of ammo because it's actually a primary. Plus with the scout AA changes and scout targeting/reload perks having low cost and giving huge benefits the weapon feels pretty good in normal mode, and with the mask and fragment for +dmg it feels like the gun has multikill clip. I'd recommend this gun to people who want decent range damage but aren't good with snipers, also you have a free kinetic slot and you already have a primary and a sniper in one weapon, so if u take a shotgun you'll practically cover all ranges and have a power slot for something like a sword. It's a very fun weapon, shame that it never got players' love

Depending on the lenght of the dmg phase, and the weapons you are using, Mask of Bakris could become the better choice. That 40% more dps that you gain for 10-ish seconds needs to catch up to the Nighthawk that has already been shot. I doubt that being possible tbh, even w/Cloudstrike.

Use the duskfield grenade with mask of bakris with anarchy and first in last out with the increased slow duration fragment and the bonus damage on freezing targets and you can CRANK on bosses if u throw a duskfield and dodge on the boss. Even more so if you add high energy fire and power of rasputin to the mix (WoL and a debuff included of course)

Third comment. Just wanna say that I'm glad Hunter is top pick for DPS. The original roles for the classes seemed to be that Titans tank damage for teammates and lookout for overall team safety, warlocks buff/debuff and heal to fulfill an overall support role, and hunters focus on being high in DPS with great survivability granted by high mobility rather than high tankiness.

It's more than just (this gives a higher % damage buff" you gotta look at both supers as a whole, Well ISN'T meant to COMPETE with Bubble, it's meant to work WITH Bubble.

bakris stacks with charged with light mods right? And if so Wouldn’t the best build be: bakris, temptation’s hook, cloud strike? Slow your enemy from distance, shift, throw the arc disk from Temptations hook, then wail on the target with cloud strike. This in theory would be Bakris stacking with lucent blade and high energy fire (which does stack btw, only with T hook). Not to mention in a fire team divinity and bubble can be added on.

Slight math criticism Ehroar. If everyone can do 93% damage increase and hunters get 133% increase, then they are doing ~21% damage more (because everyone would be doing 193 damage vs a fully procced hunter doing 233). This is also what we would expect to see from stacking two 10% buffs, because 1.1*1.1 = 1.21.

Nighthawk is good for burst damage, not so much DPS. This is probably better when it comes to sustained damage, I think, although it's been a while since I used Nighthawk.

Better overall damage from what I can see here. If you can 1 shot an enemy Nighthawk is better but Bakris does better overall damage, especially with 4th Horseman and Cloudstrike

I would imagine bakris combo does more damage overall. But that's the thing, the bakris numbers are coming from a combo, which requires setup and a bunch of resources. As well as at least 1 other team mate for the main buff/debuff. Nighthawk can pull its numbers all by itself, provided you can hit your crit.

Nighthawk is the deadest strat for me it feels as tho I've just completely nerfed my passive game for one super powerful shot from a rocket launcher. Just for how you can actually use abilities in a way that fully reflects the role play of being a hunter and actually being useful it's a 10/10 from me

@@LilHaze117 but you don’t keep Nighthawk on. You switch to it for super then switch out. Though I guess you’re talking about Stasis having better grenades, melee and CC, which is fair.

@@VRGUILE but if you are raiding you do all this preparation regardless, in a raid you will have Bubble and Well, maybe Divinity and Bakris adds 40% to that, so I don’t see how it’s a downside. For non raids it’s better overall since you can use it for non boss enemies easily. Bakris is just a better Exotic overall.

I was actually thinking about switching to 4th horseman for atracks 1 with sealed ahamkara and a smoke nade melee to see if I could get 10 shots off in a row

great... now over half of LFG will be asking for cloudstrike and this helmet when neither are required for a quick, easy kill. I'm aware helmets are up today on Europa. just did 17 runs without it dropping and now have to go to work.

How come you didn't use whisper of hedrons? I didn't think the fragment that gets your class ability back shortened the Bakris cool down on dodge, so it seems like whisper of hedrons 25% buff would be the better choice over shortening a 9 second dodge wouldn't it?

This is my question as well. Also, while the build in the video is really cool (and I really want to use the Mask), it seems like having to overcompensate for the extra dodge cooldown is a lot to worry about in the heat of things. Meanwhile, couldn't we just keep crutching Wormhusk, dodge every 10 seconds and stay alive, and use Whisper of Hedrons for its buff?

I wonder if this stacks with the fragment that buffs weapon damage after freezing a target because if it does than this is pretty much one of the best hunter subclasses for sustained and even burst dps

Would be surprised if the buff stacking is intentional since it goes firmly against Bungie’s stance in buff stacking. Maybe better for now (don’t really know tbh), but I would get your hopes up about it sticking around
