I find it "incredulous" that they lay eggs on the nature strip. I have been swooped by them before. Haha. @@CarloFerraro

How can you tell which is the male and which one is the female?🤔

Shouldn't be, the birds get distressed unnecessarily, this is to show how good parents they are. They built the nest between two poles to avoid vehicles and horses in the area. Lapwings are amongst the best alarm calls of the wild, warning of any predator nearby, everywhere, from north to south, a very successful species.

Why are plovers always nesting in public areas?!
@CarloFerraro10 ай бұрын
Sorry, but that is not entirely correct. Yes, they nest in public places as part of nesting everywhere. They are widespread, their presence in Australia is a blessing, otherwise, we would be full of the common pigeon pupping and contaminating everything in their path. These birds are the alarm call of the grass plains, they alert other wildlife of any danger, are extremely territorial and their behaviour is similar wherever they are present in the world (watch another of my videos). Besides that, WE, humans have invaded the territories that wildlife has been populating for millions of years and destroying it. So please do not complain, please admire the wildlife while it lasts.

Be careful, they are 100% protected by Federal law. Constitues jail time for anyone harming them. They are native wildlife!
