Mason Bee House DIY

DIY Mason Bee House! This is a piece of a tree that I turned into a home for mason bees. I used bamboo reeds and siliconed them into the cut out lumber. Supper easy and fun. Ok so a band saw made this possible. I really enjoy helping out the pollinators of our world! Thanks for watching !!

kinda like a honey bee but no stinger and they don't make honey.

The way you cut the bamboo is the best. This protects the interior of the habitat, of external air currents, and maintains the necessary darkness and humidity. Nice and good job friend!

this is something that i have never seen before bro !! looks very cool for decorating the trees out of my store !!!! the only think that make me wonder is .. if bees like something with the smell of linked oil i don't like to see wasps in it ! LOL great work as always bro !!!

Kostas Annikas Deftereos I think it will be ok I have it outside now. the oil is only on the outer part not on the bamboo. I did it to keep from decay and Carpenter bee from boring in to it. hopefully it doesn't detour the mason bee. in Ohio they are common good bees and love the small holes. thanks!!

Good build, and I got your stickers. What I'm wondering is how you get some mason bees to move in. I saw some on line for sale. I may make one of these just for the fun on it.

cool yes I got yours as well Thank you! I get these mason bee in the spring trying to get in the drainage holes on the bottom outside edge of my windows. Kinda annoying so I put this close to one of the windows to entice them to use it instead hope it works however it has been raining and cold all week.

Yeah that is a drawback to this design. I think a jig saw would work however you would have to make it thinner I believe. Thank you!
