Exciting progress! You mentioned giving the chemical reaction the best chance to take - try this: when assembling pipe and couplings, push the coupling on to the pipe rotated around 90 degrees from its final orientation, then rotate the pipe and/or fitting to the final orientation once the pipe is bottomed out in the fitting. This helps ensure complete glue coverage and if there happened to be a bit of contamination or an unseen burr that scraped the glue out of the way as your were assembling it will fill back in. You can't always manage this on every single joint, but with good planning you can probably assemble 95% of joints with a twist, at least on new construction...remodeling is a whole different story. I recess the mounting ears for things like the washer box as well - figure we spend so much time crowning the studs to keep the walls from getting wavy, why do anything that you know is going to impact the sheetrock's flatness?

Haha good I’m not the only one being anal about the mounting tabs then 😄 I usually give the fittings a 1/4 turn but you’re right sometimes it’s just not possible in some situations

You did a really nice job on the install.. I don't think 98% of "pros" could have done it better... Great to see your progress and the time you take to make sure it looks good.

What is the discoloration on the sheathing at the 9:07 mark?

The resin was just darker there for some reason, not sure why. It was only present on the 8ft panels, none on the 9ft.

As a professional plumber for 30 years, I can tell you you'll be laughed out of the plumbing community if you say "boo-boo" on the job site---we say "ouchies."

Thanks for sharing your project! From your diagram, you will need a vent for the 2nd floor toilet and a vent for the shower because the lav dumps in above the santi tee. The stack vent starts above the highest dump in to the stack. Anything below the stack vent must be vented before entering the stack. Also, in your radiant slab video you ran romex that will not be covered. Should be thhn wire in conduit or mc cable. Code mentions vulnerability risks for nm cable (romex).

So we got the romex in the utility room cleared by our local inspector ahead of time! The diagram is slightly off for the 2nd floor lav - I mentioned it will be using an AAV, had to change plans on that due to the radon pipe in the way. It actually drops through the floor and enters the stack just below where the washer enters. So toilet and shower are the highest inlets into the stack, sharing the 3x3x3x2 san tee.

use a pocket screw kit to do those blocks.. no hurting yourself and you can stick the screw in the pocket and then hold it to the perfect location and drive in the screw

I did have pocket holes, just was using general torx screws instead of square head screws 😅

I’m not sure why you made that 4x Tee offset the way you did. Keep your lines square plumb and level (fall) Looks dookie. But the rest seemed to look pretty good. Keep it up.

Just saw where you ran diagonally again. That’s the mark of a DIY’er and red flags are raised when pro’s see that.
