Creality Falcon2 Pro Review from a Beginner Laser User

Great overview! I just purchased one of these off of Amazon just before Father’s Day at a fantastic price, just over HALF of the price you mentioned. Finally got around to putting it together this past weekend and still have to get it calibrated and tested. Your video was extremely helpful with laying out my next steps. This is my first laser cutter/engraver.

Thanks for this, very insightful. Is the bed adjustable at all so you could engrave certain objects rather than just sheets?

Thanks for watching! It's not necessarily designed to be adjustable, but you can easily use other objects like blocks (plastic, wood, etc.) to position objects as you need. If you're designing something on an able, you can just use a larger block on one side to position as you need. There isn't a ton of vertical space between the slats and laser, but if you remove the slat you have a good amount of room to shim non-flat material the way you need.

Hey man, I'm looking at one of these but I can't find out the height constraints on the engraving area, and if it'd work just... without the tray if needed. Nice review, good to know about the SD card!

Good question! I just removed some slats and with the tray in, you could probably cut material 50-60mm in height, depending on the focus spacing needed. You could remove the tray to gain another 8-10mm and there are also risers available that can lift the whole thing up. Note that with the tray removed and/or risers in use, you'll want to make sure you wear the provided safety glasses to protect your eyes.

Between this laser and the S1 20w which one would you choose as a beginner?

For a beginner, I’d recommend the S1 with the main reason being the XCS software. For someone that wants total control of the laser (either experienced or a beginner wishing to learn), the Falcon2 Pro is a good choice.

Cheers for a really great and informative video! I'm considering getting one of these, can you tell me if it's possible to swap 'panel A & B' so that the exhaust will be on the right side? I assume that the fan and hose connector can be mounted on the other side, but what about cable length etc., will they still reach? Thanks in advance

Thanks for watching! The two side panels can be swapped to reposition the fan (both have the same fan control and USB cutouts), HOWEVER, the provided fan cable is not long enough to reach from the right-hand side to the fan controller. It does seem to be a somewhat standardized connector, so I wouldn't be too surprised if extensions could be found somewhere online.

@@MasonWoodshop Thanks for the quick reply! Not a deal breaker for me, but I will have to extend the cable then if/when I decide to buy one. I guess they're trying to keep the cost down, but surely there must be more people than myself who need to place it close to a wall....

Oh yeah! It’s strange that they made the panels swappable (although maybe that was just an accident) and didn’t provide a longer cable. It is really nice being able to put the Falcon2 Pro right up against a wall behind it whereas my xTool S1 has all of its exhaust and ports at the back, which is a little annoying.

Actually, there is a plug on the other side of the machine to plug in the fan. There are other videos online showing how this is done so this can be vented out either side

That’s too bad. I did have an issue when I tried using my own USB-C cables but when I switched to the ones that came with the laser (and with the included adapter) it worked properly.

@@volkanduran Sorry for my late reply. I don't use a USB hub to connect both, but I do use the two cables (one connecting printer, one connecting camera) to two USB-C ports on my MacBook Pro using the included cables and USB-A to USB-C adapters. I originally tried alternate cables as well as a hub but that didn't work for me.
