Eye don't know what is with the helmet and the stare from other guy, but let me tell you folks that I found this video really informative: I have an old Ford and it is a 7.5 Lariat and 460 a 1990 wonder of wonders aNd love it, but I am trying to locate its MAF and how to take it out and clean or replace and then use my reader. QUESTION: I cleaned my MAF - and my Truck will only run when the MAF wants it to. I unplug it and the truck (98 B2500 Mazda) runs fine. What harm will come to my truck if I drive it until I can get a new MAF Sensor? Aside from getting a little worse gas mileage?

My MAF rate is at 0.00 when I start my car and stay at 0.00 even when I press on the gas. I also remove the hornet and the car engine remain at the same engine level. What can be the problem? I also used the bluedriver.

I have very poor throttle response and shifting. Only code that comes up is for the 02 sensor, but that's because the catalytic converter was stolen.

I replaced the sensor but i still have a 0.00 g/s even when its running. I did notice on the connector that one of the wires was loose and came off the connector completely. Will this cause the check engine light to come on and not read the g/s??? I have a 2008 ford f-250 6.4L turbo diesel truck.

I have a 2004 f150 has a rough idle once it warms up… but if I’m driving runs fine but at a stoplight the idle gets rough…..no check engine light ….. no codes it just passed inspection

Not in this case, but it certainly doesn't hurt - just beware you'll need some time afterwards for your truck to relearn its fuel corrections and pass its smog self tests if you have an inspection coming up.

Just check the voltage KOEO.. The voltage should be 0...If you see 0.02+.. It's bad....Then start it.. It should be around the CU displacement or above. If not.. It's bad....

I got rid off the truck after I replaced the mass air flow sensor I replaced the vct camshaft timing control selonoi air filter, fuel filter spark plugs ,I got all the ignition coils check too then I went to the mechanic he told me it has to do with the timing chain big job so I sold it instead lol

It's really up to you - personally I tend to go aftermarket to save some money, but not the cheapest ones. With things like sensors if you get the cheapest one it may be just slightly out of spec and throw a code.

Yes that's possible also because the air flow information is given to the computer to control the intakeair control valve which controls the fuel Fords have this happen

This could be just about anything related to fuel or air - O2 sensors, MAF, air leaks, fuel pressure, injectors, etc It might be worth starting by looking at your O2 sensor data - there's a great guide on this at www.walkerproducts.com/o2-sensor-training-guide/introduction/

Okay so I just bought a 2004 F150 FX4 and it have an engine light on ran normal except for at low idle was shaking and rough idle code said most likely was a m.a.f. sensor so I following KZbin video instructions I didn't buy the cheap one about the $250 fucking Motorcraft one and it still runs the same fucking way what else might it be how do I test the wires for the m.a.f. wire also when I unplugged mine it just died

Could be a vacum leak... fuel filter...vacum leak aka intake gasket leak. Codes give you places to look. Doesn't mean they're guaranteed.

They work or they dont cleaning then requires special mass flow sensor cleaner only ofen it just a piece of dust or cotton wood seeds on them that cause a fault 99% time they are dirty but spraying them with electrical cleaner brake or carb cleaner ruins them cleaning parts take longer then replacing and charging to clean everything instead of replacing the dirty sensors

It takes 10 minutes to clean this MAF Sensor. 7/8 dollar can of MAF Sensor cleaner from any part store . Pretty sure I didn't have any luck cleaning mine and will be buying a new one asap. I'm getting a shutter when I slightly mash on the throttle. Like passing a slow vehicle. I had this problem before and changed the coil packs & plugs and it went away . That's been less than a year ago . Now the shutter is back . I hope it's the MAF Sensor.

Lose the "high performance" air filter. Use a factory approved filter. Auto maker's do and they have alot riding on it; in regards to honoring a warranty.
