One of the saddest parts in the game (as of right now). The sacrifice of a krogan so you could escape. Very emotional :)

Well the outcome is actually different if you Played to two other games and saved the Rachnai Queen in ME 1 and had Grunt Loyal in ME 2

grunt survived the suicide misson so I had him instead of dagg. only time a krogan death made me tear up a bit luckily I completed his loyalty misson so he came back. unfortunitly he was just a war asset and not a squad member

I like how the voice actor changed his tone for each variant of the Queen. The actual Queen is a lot softer, noble & more penitent, whereas this Breeder is a lot harsher & more direct in tone.

BlazFenix The Rachni mission doesn't expire. So if you wait until after Priority: Citadel II to do it, you can bring Tali, no hacks necessary.

Ultimate Dreamcrusher First, sorry for my bad english. In my Mass Effect i saved the queen in ME 1 and Grunt lives and is loyal. The queen explains that she was use by the Reapers. I choose to free her for help againts the Reapers. Grunt survives.

If you didn't kill her in previous mass effects , she : A) doesn't betray you if you save her, but instead her rachni engineers will help build the crucible B) She will accept her fate if you chose to kill her, just by saying that they will be (the rachni race) decaying in silence, and she won't fight back Plus in dialogues, it is implied that she's not corrupted unlike the artificial one, she's humble and she keep talking at plural instead of singular person.

Would've had a much easier time here if you hadn't been using the flamethrower. The flamethrower is a trap. Useless against the Ravagers, not even that great against the Husks. A Revenant machine gun or Typhoon minigun would have wiped them all out in no time. This isn't the Rachni Queen. This is just a clone breeder.

This was a really tough choice for me. On one side, condemning any sentient race to extinction is hard to be okay with, but on the other hand, Arlakh company is Grunt's crew, and Grunt's my boi.

Wrong title for vid, this isn't the Rachni Queen, it's the Rachni Breeder, even says so on it's subtitle text. The Breeder and Queen are two totally different things, the Breeder isn't even a real Rachni, it's some kind of synthetic hybrid created from cutoffs of normal Rachni. It's not capable of creating normal Rachni, it only creates mindless husks which the Reapers control, while the actual Queen has true sentient children driven mad by the Reaper signal. As such, it's a Breeder, not a Queen.

@baseball4evPC Also depends on what role you assign him to during the different team-events. For instance, Grunt is not the best leader, so don't put him as fire team commander; he will die. He is also not the best technician, so do not choose him as tech expert, he will die. etc etc

That's correct. If you imported your old save then it's flipped but if you started fresh like I did then it's the way in the video.

@xXBRSAXx Loyal members can still die depending on which member you order to hold the barrier or go through the tunnel at the end of ME2. There are a few flow charts out there which tell you how to get through the ending without losing any members. Google it.

it does, on this save file he did not release the queen in the first game or because this file is not an import one, if you release the queen in the first game and import it all the way through, the queen is there, and she does give a bonus to your war asset

A valid point, though in this case, one presumes this is a Krogan using a full-power Claymore shotgun up-powered to Krogan strength (the in-game Claymore is reduced for human strength or the kick would shatter bone). The Claymore can do massive damage at close range, so maybe the Krogan version really can do a one-shot. :)

actually, you can now purchase in-game stuff that used to be DLC content, includidng the Collector Armor and Blood Dragon Armor owning Dragon Age itself is only required in ME2

I agree with the uploader that this moment was pretty sad, but it was even worse when it was Grunt and not Dagg, but too bad Grunt is a badass and can not die. Really disappointed that Mass Effect 3 didn't have as many various squad members as ME1 and ME2.

Grunt should have been there if you played 2 other ME games. That scene was freaking mental. I was in complete shock when I thought Grunt sacrificed himself and then he just came out of the cave I was so happy! And I also cursed Bioware for almost making me cry again :D

@baseball4evPC lots of things effect the choices 1st of all try doing a bunch of side missions and get your ren/para points as hish as you can and 2nd of all it might have to do {or only some choices} with the decisions from ME/ME2... least thats what ive read.... now im stuck on the choice between legion and tali people theres 2 options open but there greyed out til i think i get more par/ren points

@CushyLifestyle Ya, I basically showed the two possibilities where he dies. This happens if you 1) start a new ME3 game without importing or 2) you didn't do Grunt's quest in ME2.

From what I can remember, if you save the original Rachni Queen in ME1, and save the 'Husk Queen' in ME3, her children go on to meet up with the purebreds and help bolster the ranks of both the Rachni and the end fleets (dont ask how space bugs have ships...). I will always choose to free both queens. In ME1 when you hear of the Krogan war with them it was the Krogans fault no matter what, they were undignified and started the war as an excuse for their natural bloodlust when they've already proven they could rise above it. The queen in ME3 has been artificially created by the reapers, and all she wants to do is seek vengeance for making her breed empty songless children (may be mixing that bit up with the Thorian songs bit). How can you leave her there?

It happens quite a lot in a lot of different series. New players are attracted to the "ooh shiny" of the new game. It's only after playing it that they may or may not go back to play the older games

Usually if you let a character die in a previous game, their replacement in this game, Kirahee if Thane died, Dagg if Grunt died, would be worse than if they did not die.

yes. The game save files are not recognized as steam saves, simply Mass effect game saves. I have ME2 on steam and I transferred my ME2 saves to ME3 on origin. so, you're good if you want to import. You can't however import saves from console to console. that's just obvious.

@Archean217 Exactly. Saving the REAL queen was the right thing to do from the very beginning because then you gain the Rachni to the cause as a war asset when releasing her again in ME3. ^^ WITHOUT the treachery. :)

Saving the queen is paragon if it's the real queen. Saving the breeder (which ends up destroying some of your war assets as well) is renegade because it is using the reaper's creations for your own uses, like with the collector base.

There are not just 2 options, there are other videos showing how Dagg dies in a different form, and after killing more monsters, he falls over a cliff over one of those monsters, and don't show how he dies. War assets matter.

I left the rachni queen to die previous playthroughs because I had a sitiuation with Rana Thanoptis in ME2 and a squamember said something like "I'm for second chances but I'm not sure about the third ones" and he was right 'cause in ME3 she killed a few people and it turned out that she was indoctrinated so I didn't want to risk being betrayed by the rachni queen. I also thought that it was the only way to keep Grunt alive, but now I'm going to save her.

You need a minimum of 6 loyal squad members for everyone to live if I remember correctly, Grunt can easily not be loyal and survive at the final phase of the mission.

The only downside is if she's the "fake" queen and you save her. She will go rogue later in the game and kill a bunch of scientists working on the crucible.

That's Grunt though. He survives only if his Loyalty Mission was complete in Mass Effect 2. If not, he doesn't come out of the cave all bloodied with his and reaper blood. Urdnot Dagg, regardless, will die if you save the Rachni Queen/Breeder. Only Grunt has a possibility of surviving. It's best if Grunt is alive. That means Urdno Dagg lived and so does Grunt(assumption).

just because something is on the bottom of the wheel doesn't mean its a renegade option. that only works on dialogue not your choices.

i pickeed lots of options on the bottom of the dialogue wheel and got no renegade points nor did it seem like a renegade option. saving the rachnie queen in ME3 for example.

If you spared the rachni queen before, you can save her and she'll send rachni drones to help build the Crucible because she's loyal to you. If you killed the original rachni queen and help the breeder, she's loyal to the Reapers so she'l try to destroy the Crucible and you'll lose war asset points. The real rachni queen is nice and should be helped, but the breeder is a treacherous abomination that should be left to her demise.
