to be honest, recent patch did improve the gaming experiences a bit (i emphatize "a bit"), with all that lighting, shadow and animation fix (though they just outright cut some parts) and i had fun with it for a while and ready to jump back in for another play after a while. Still, i wish bioware and EA (fuck you EA!) spent more time on the game and make it more of a real Mass Effect game. So many potentials gone to waste.

How did that guy understand what makes RPG's great? He literally said that he would never inflict an ABC ending on the fans, and then he gave us an ABC ending. He sold people a trilogy in which choice was supposed to carry over from story to story, only to make us discovering during the ME3 ending aftermath that they actually never planned the story out. Casey Hudson and Mac Walters are the main reasons that this game takes place in the Andromeda galaxy. They botched it so bad that a scorched earth tactic was the only viable choice. You didn't think that Bioware wanted so explore a new galaxy so badly after they spent three games building up the Milky Way, did you? It's a tactical retreat, and they have Hudson to thank for it.

This game /does/ look uglier than it's previous incarnations when it comes to character models, and that just doesn't make any damn sense at all. andromeda is actually pretty damn good once you get to the second planet and the game opens up sure the animation is jank as hell sometimes but the gameplay is clean and addictive i think the biggest problem is that its a mass effect title and our expectations where way too high i see this game following the path of destiny once dlc starts dropping it will end up being exactly what we thought we would get in the first place this is just the landscape of gaming now games get released unfinshed and patched to all hell once the first major dlc drops

I honestly love this game, I'm not really one for going and picking out all the flaws. My main focus when playing is having fun and progressing. Yeah, there might be needed improvements but that doesn't make the game terrible. The characters are awesome too, especially PeeBee. I agree with what you said the original Mass Effects were awesome and commander S. was bad ass, but I'm glad they switch to the Ryder's, it gives a newer and fresher feel. Remember mass effect came out 8-9 years ago, the switch was needed and I love the direction they took in space exploration. Hopefully people can start enjoying the game instead of hating it just because of some facial feature or a bit of a confusing story set up. I promise, if you actually focus on the gameplay and not the small details you'll enjoy this game a lot. Good review btw, subscribed.

I don't know why everyone say the combat is great. They took ME3 gunplay and made it even more generic. When ME3 came out the combat was one of the main critic (beside the ending obviously). It became a gears of war or any other 3rd person shooter like that feels like you're using plastic airsoft guns. Remember ME2 were you felt powerful, biotics that had impact, guns that felt like guns (like the carnifex that felt like a toy in ME3 instead of the sci fi version of the biggest revolver you could think of) They changed the pace to a fast generic running and gunning instead of keeping the slower, much more satisfying powerful tank-feeling gameplay and I'm sad they decided to make it worse in andromeda I guess I'm one of a few how think that way now for andromeda and it's strange considering the mass of people disapointed by that bland ME3 gunplay

Don't recall too many things bearing much weight in the original trilogy (I can only think of Wrex, Ashley/Kaidan, and the Rachni), apart from whether your squad mates survive the ending of ME2 and ME3. Watplr Wraith know that it hasn't aged well. You should also consider your class ahead of time...ME 1 limits your proficiency with certain weapons based on your class. You can use each one but if you're​ restricted to say, a Pistol only as a Biotic, then every other gun you use won't be able to hit the broadside of a barn at spitting distance. Soldier is pretty OP in #1 but gets a little boring. Biotics are cool but don't flesh out until the 2nd game. Tech abilities are multifaceted... I recommend bringing a party member with a focus on those types of skills if that isn't what your character will be using. You'll see what I mean if & when you play it. Bonus Points: Ragdoll is hilarious

However id say its biggest problem is that it just lacks some soul id describe it. My girlfriend, myself, and two friends all bought the game. It's pretty good, but it's flaws are based entirely on the fact that the game shares the DragonAge: Inquisition engine (A move that was put fourth by EA since Bioware had Mass Effect on it's own engine in prior games). The biggest complaint that people seem to have is the facial animations. However it should be mentioned that in prior games the faces were all motion-capped from real actors. Unfortunately with how huge the game is (and with few to none of the npcs being copied and pasted like previous games) this has led to them just animating all the faces manually. Overall the game has many improvements compared to the previous games, but the few issues the game does have will probably be pretty noticeable early on. Although personally I don't even notice them anymore. My only major complaint though, is the STUPID choice to make the Multiplayer peer to peer connected since it has made the Multiplayer ridiculously laggy and filled with bugs such as random disconnections, textures not loading, enemies that cannot die, ect. (And this is stuff I have experience playing with friends who all live in the same area/city).

You got it wrong, it's not "a game without Shepard" that is the problem, it's: a game without YOUR Shepard.Everyone made Shepard his own, and his comrades felt like your friends, the more you played through the trilogy the more you loved it because of this, everything was tied togheter by your actions. However Andromeda is fresh, and while Mass Effect 1 had enough flaws, Andromeda seems more hated, and without a sequel to it, it can't redeem itself.

I don't agree... Shepard had a begining, and an ending, and it was worth it. Having it continue on to long wouldn't have the same taste. Yes, the new MC isn't Shepard, and it shows in the dialogue, with a more uplifting tone and persona... And I'm fine with it. It's another character I will develop differently, which will make different and new friends, and will grow... If there is an Andromeda 2 ( which is somewhat confirmed by Bioware insisting they aren't done with Andromeda yet ), I think they won't rush it like the first... I actually really liked Mass Effect 3's multiplayer. Playing as different races and nonstandard classes was really fun. Some of the classes, like the Geth Juggernaut, were really easy to play. Others, like the Volus engineer, provided more high risk high reward gameplay. It was very well balanced.

I'm playing on the ps4 pro and have definitely noticed some graphical hiccups. As far as I can tell, this definitely doesn't seem to be as amazing as the first three; however, nostalgia can be a powerful thing. +gameranx, I really think the problem is this game is being held to such a high standard. If it were the first mass effect game ever, I'm sure the score would be sitting in the low 80's. It's like bioware just won third place after only winning all the time. Is third place really that bad? I'll let you all decide. And, worth noting, the witcher 3 was amazing. But, it was unplayable for me for the first 5 months on console thanks to framerate drops and graphical bugs.

I just finished playing the ME trilogy for the first time and went right back to play ME 1 again, after watching Andromeda on Twitch... It's not a bad game, but the game is just not finished as it was not finished with ME2 and ME3 and it's hard to support a company for spending hundreds of millions of dollars, advertising for an unfinished game, instead of delivering something great. I absolutly loved Andromeda, I played on PS4 for the first time this past year with the last patch released, which did fix some issues, but not all. Even with that, I enjoyed the gameplay, the story and exploration. The only downside the game had was the knowledge that there is no MEA2, because after multiple play throughs and hundreds of hours played, I just wanted more of this game and I was invested enough that I wanted to see where the story goes from here. And if visuals are things you just can't look past, play the game on PC with some mods and you'll grow to love the game, maybe not on the same level as ME2 or ME3, but it is it's own experience.

I find it odd that this game finished looks and acts like they had no idea how to work with Frostbite. Then again, Frostbite never seemed like the best engine for character focused games, (which is usually Bioware's focus) especially morphable face models, maybe this proves it, or maybe its just the fact that someone really screwed the engine. The entire game kinda reminds me of how things turn out in blender when you render a scene at just the bottom of the uncanny valley. Also can I say how annoying the aesthetic and lightning seem to me? thank you for finally giving an honest, neutral review, just what i've been looking for, personally i cant wait to play this game and will be buying it the moment i'm paid. Sure some things look a bit silly with the faces but all the hate for that? it'll likely get patched anyway at some point. Personally I just want to enjoy a new chapter in ME, plus the thought of being a sword wielding, stealthing biotic badass just makes me want to play it even more xD

I’ve just picked up my Xbox One X so I’ve missed a few Games and Mass Effect Andromeda and Ghost Recon Wildlands were games I really wanted to play. People are quick to criticise games and expect so much. Personally I’m really looking forward to this with the updates in place. Nice video. 🙂

Everyone ripping this apart. I still enjoy it. Yeah it has some weird animations among other things, but I guess all the goofy eye and facial animations from the original trilogy are all forgotten now. I'll be playing this while everyone is busy hatin.
