Winning the Salarian Pathfinder friendship seems to be better in the long run. It's like keeping Maelon's data in ME2. Morally questionable but it proved to be extremely beneficial in the end.

Also, saving Raeka gives you nothing (there's another pathfinder in her place), but if you save the krogan, they appear to help you during the final mission.

Plus, Raeka made her peace. She was ready to die, those scouts weren't. On a big picture scale, Salarians could out breed the krogan BEFORE the genophage, and the Krogan don't have their own Ark. Every lost Krogan is a massive blow to their prospects of establishing a society in Andromeda. We're talking "every single dead Krogan could mean the end of the species" levels of endangered.

Yeah, the peaceful species! Who decided an extensive and drawn out extinction punctuated by a literal mountain of dead babies was totally acceptable and preferable to outright genocide. But hey, if the Krogan weren't so violent in the first place, the genophage would keep them stable! Wonder why they were so violent, anyway? Probably nothing to do with the Citadel races handing the galactic society equivalent of a toddler a shotgun and telling them to go nuts until they turned sixteen, right? Hey, let's uplift those Yahg! They sure seem swell, the way they viciously murdered and ate our diplomat. This is why you don't leave the fate of the galaxy to a race that won't live to see next Tuesday. "But Triston," you might say, "you're being too sarcastic and harsh! I chose The Salarian Pathfinder. I even had Drack with me. It was my hardest choice in the game for me. Save the scouts of the guy who is the most badass or save the pathfinder. I will tell you this, if you leave his scouts he doesn't let you forget it, he brings it up occasionally and makes me feel like shit. If was some krogan leader or someone else's scouts I would have chosen he seemed the most valuable.

thanks for uploading. finally found a community that loves this game as i do. sad that so many people jump on the shitstorm-train without even playing it long. while witcher 3 is their messias and savior and everything inthis world should be just like witcher 3. in their own ways i think both games are a wonderful experience.

I saved the pathfinder, I had Drack on my squad on the mission too and she and the other Salarians 'save you' at one point, also the mission was never to retrieve krogan scouts, saving a Salarian pathfinder and crew, after she helped save you, seemed like the fair choice, Drack seemed to get over it fairly quickly too. I would have been pissed if he didn't because it wasn't a matter of 5 Salarian > 5 Krogan, it was a pathfinder who 'saved you' who I felt like deserved to be saved, over some Krogan you had no idea were there in the first place, SAM shouldn't have said anything about them and everyone would have been blissfully ignorant. I also don't see how Raeka was 'dumb' to go for her people, if we were given the choice to go back to save more people on our own, keeping our squad alive as she did, we would have risked it :P Also spoiler, having the Salarian crew fight with you on the ground at the end made it worth it, they sounded badass, I also owed it to Mordin in my mind, Salarians deserve a fair bit of respect too, even if they did create a genophage :|

i choosed the pathfinder too..drack was really pissed about (just played it a few minutes ago and wanted to see what would have happen if i choosed the scouts)...but well..seems like more ppl are going for krogans, and the arguements are pretty good pro-krogan...i was just like well its a PATHFINDER shes important..maybe they dont live long..but also on a side-mission iirc a salarian was working on fixing the problem with the genophage, also the nexus is working on it..so now u have a intelligent species or the one who did this to the krogan on ur side..and they can work on the nexus to make faster progress in saving the krogans gen-malfunction..

Shimazu Goose The one big thing you're missing with this argument is the fact that it's also mentioned that the Kett are very close to successfully exalting the Krogan into those dangerous behemoths and that not only by leaving the scouts who are scheduled to be exalted do you put more pressure on the colony, but also allow the Kett a much simpler task of turning them into those monsters.

I chose to save Raeka... First off, I had to put everything into perspective. I started with; Comparing each race's position within the Andromeda Galaxy. I thought to myself, the Krogan already have a colony in Heleus, vs the Salarians having very little representatives (barring the ones on the Nexus). Also, the Krogan are currently on the verge of curing the genophage due to a mutation they injected themselves with. Over the 600 year journey, it seemed as if the mutation was working rather well. Also, if you were to due one of the side missions in New Tuchanka, a biologist is studying the work of Dr. Okeer (Warlord Okeer from ME2). This would further help the Krogan in developing an immunity to the genophage. In the end, the Salarians needed more help then the Krogan. I felt absolutely terrible for uncle Drack, but weighing up the lives of dozens of Salarians vs 5-6 Krogan scouts pushed me to help Raeka.

Let me remind you that the mission was to rescue a SALARIAN ark. You don't save only Raeka, but several civilians as well. Get your priorities straight. And yeah, those are quite crappy scouts, if they got all of them caught.

The mission was the Archon ship, not the Salarian ark. The Ark was just a bonus.. That being said you rescue AN ENTIRE Salarian ark. Choosing to rescue a few Salarian stragglers at the cost of letting the Krogan die seems inappropriate to me.

I saved the salarians lol after the drive core, I thought he'd be fine. I didn't even know he had scouts in there, and Raeka had a lot of stuff about dad. In the end, the kettified krogan were fun bosses near end game.

I saved the Scouts. A fully trained pathfinder may have been a tactically smarter choice, but if the Krogan are going to survive in Andromeda with the Genophage still a factor, even if theirs is a bit weaker, I felt I had to keep their numbers up as much as possible. Keep the population sustainable.

For me it's Drack. Vetra, Jaal, and Cora, pretty much in that order. Cora is a better romance than Vetra though. Peebee and Liam are ok, but I don't like them as much.

Who else feels that there is a lot more gratitude and impact from saving the Krogans than the Salarian here? The Salarian Pathfinder thanks you but otherwise seems to take your aid for granted, while Drack not only thanks you for the choice you made but explains its significance to him and the other Krogans.

Worth noting only 1200 Krogan came over, and after all of the events of Andromeda, the Krogan colony is only 700 strong...

First im happy to see someone enjoying making content and enjoying the game. Second the salarian brought that on herself, she made a gamble and lost. What happens the next time she makes a stupid decission? who saves her then? Then is the subjetc of Drack you called him a friend an count on him having your back not only againts the enemy but againts his own people (you only enter new tuchanka because of him) and then you wont do the same for him on the moment of true? And all that reasoning aside how can i say no to him after that bar fight?

I love Stack but imo saving the Pathfinder & Civilian is the smarter moves, the Scout weren't non-combatants they knew the risk. Frankly you'd think he'd be more forgiving after fixing Elaaden and getting the Krogan Colony situation back on track

I choose the scouts, but only because you are running aganist time in that mission. I tought it would be easier to save them because they are not too far from your position (maybe?) and with less enemies around them unlike the Salarian pathfinder

Just wish there was a way to airlock Drack for being a whiny, mouthy POS when I correctly save Raeka and the Salarians -- who were the entire focal point of the mission in the first place. Such a disappointment no Ryder response isn't him/her groveling for Drack's f-ing forgiveness. F that crap. At least in ME2 you could put Zaeed in his bratty place when he throws a fit in his mission. Even in this vid's outcome, Drack has to be a demanding brat to the captain (who just lost his pathfinder) -- demanding he coddles his saved scouts to get them back safely. Everything about the way the Salarians respond to saving the scouts vs Drack's diaper baby tantrum if saving Raeka --> Ryder saves Raeka every time.

I've thankfully not got to this point in the game yet. If you choose the Pathfinder over the scouts, does Drack come to hate you? I've just completed his loyalty mission and it would suck ass if he was not loyal to me (because p sure I'm going to pick the Pathfinder over the scouts)...

FPSGHoST808 Not that I don't agree with you that the game has flaws, but because Ryder is also a pathfinder they would've never have left you. Ordered to or not. The Pathfinders are too important, Raeka made a heartfelt decision that costed her life and could have also endangered the Salarians had they not have been able to transfer the pathfinder AI to another.

If you go saving Raeka - she, basicallly, becomes your temporary companion (recovered so qwuickly, huh?), if krogans - one of the scouts. So yeah, you actually can take down these kett.

FPSGHoST808 The way I imagine games is that the hardest difficulty is going to be the most realistic. I 0layed my first playthrough on the second hardest difficulty and some fights are near impossible if you don't have your squad.

By that logic why can't you always have all your squadmates go on mission with you? It only makes sense to bring as much firepower to bear as possible. Ryder isn't the super elite badass Shepard was so going it alone would pretty much be suicide. In the end it's just game design simplifying things to what the devs consider a manageable level.

Ram Kitten you're wrong considering the krogan have been treated like shit for the longest time and there's not many left especially in andromeda. With the krogan already leaving the nexus and setting up a colony anything that degrades relations further will only cause bigger problems in the future. The krogan are very formidable and should be kept as allies no matter the cost since they could easily save everyone in andromeda one day. (Just like rachni wars)

Well, Salarians are short lived. The pathfinder is, what, 20? 30? They don't make it long past 40. Mordin was like a 95 year old man on borrowed time at 45. The Salarians can breed like rabbits, and you just saved 20,000 of them. The Krogan, cannot, and can live for millennia. The Salarians will very quickly rebound, considering they spend 23 hours a day awake. Krogan are slow to train and mature, replacing those dead Krogan could take thousands of stillbirths, and hundreds of years. There were only a few Krogan aboard the Nexus when it arrived. Not to mention, imagine Kett Krogan. Exalted Krogan research is a scary thought. Like those brutes from ME3 the Reapers made.

Well, if I could live for 1,400 years, and you killed a group of my friends I have potentially know for hundreds of years, I too, would be quite upset. Epsecially if I was told the person who saved in their place is someone who's going to die of old age in 5 years... (Salarians don't make long past 40 on average, and how old is this Pathfinder? 20? 30? A blink of an eye for a Krogan/Asari.)

yeah all krogans are that way , they want sympathy from other races because they tried to take over the galaxy but got served....unfortunately there is no option to kick drack off the crew......and they way drack says " im glad you left raeka behind" , he totaly forgot that raeka saved his old ass in the kett ship while his scouts were busy getting captured

I am so glad I picked this choice too. When Drack said "It's been a long time since anyone's seen us as anything more than cannon fodder." I wept. Because that's exactly how they are viewed. Which sucks. They are one of my favourite races in this series. Krogan and Salarians.
