@@victorpleitez768 Yeah, any perceived "flaws" aren't tallied up as an "innacuracy" like you would have with the human charafters(I imagine at least) Example: If they mistakenly gave a character from an older game attached earlobes(whereas they previously didn't) It's just straight up a flaw. Some new alien character though? Why can't they have both? Or just one? Either way they aren't "incorrect" and end up just being processed in the back of your mind as "better looking" At least that's my line of thought when I compare them.

@Ecard Ecardian I ended up putting a mod that was effective against organics on my rifle, I'd the aggro the enemies then I'd shuffle back behind cover to knock them down one by one. The Asari clones were cake once I got their shields down, my biggest mistake was bringing two biotics focused companions while I was the primary damage dealer.

The reason for missing shots etc. in ME1 (the original) was the RPG stat checking going on in the background. They did away with that in the other games. They are cover shooters with RPG elements, while the first game was still more RPG, a continuation from KOTORs combat.

I wish they’d kept that. If you wanted to be a pinpoint marksman you had to invest in it. After that it was just Shepard is an amazing shot. Which is a shame as a good leader can still be a bad shot.

@@00pugsly48 From a gaming perspective, that´s a solid argument, but from a storytelling standpoint, it makes no sense. When you read your bio in the first game, you can see the extensive training and combat experience Shepard has. Some people call him/her a Mary Sue, but honestly, there is a reason why he/she so good at almost everything he/she tries. He/she is literally one of the best people that the Alliance has to offer. Such a person being a bad shot is just ridiculous.

Everything they way to charge you again for is accomplished with mods from Nexus. I will stick to the original.

I love RPGs but was always turned off by sci-fi. I gave this a chance since it was on Gamepass and am humbled with how much the devs seemed to have labored over this game, I am actually embarrassed that I passed it up when it was released. I never expected them to nail so many mechanics, the writing is so thought-filled, and it is not afraid to be unforgiving in difficulty at times. They just don't make them like this anymore.

They redid a lot of things separatedly without the adequate care. Most likely, the guy who made the changes at 3:48 wasn't aware that his changes would affect this scene in particular, as he was probably working on something else that shares assets. Honestly, I came here checking to see if it was worth buying, but it's probably best to just wait a bit until mods transfer the high-res changes as mods for the old game. The new shaders and effect kind of look like ass. While I love the higher resolution armor textures and new models, it feels like it'd be better to play original ME1.

Yep, the color palette definitely looks inferior. It's too bright and washed out. The glowing effects are way too weak as well. Higher res textures don't help much if the lighting is bad.

I'm not seeing it as all that big a deal. The new look is not drastic for many scenes (the Normandy is still dark, just not as dark, no biggie) and the textures and characters look better. A bit like using the MEUITM mod - HUGE texture mod for ME1 that improves almost every texture in the game.

I personally really liked the Nomad, the vehicle that replaced Mako for planetary exploration in Andromeda. It felt like the best of both worlds. Durable like the Mako, fast like the Hammerhead. It just didn't have any weapons, which was weird and bothered me a bit, since that feels like it's a deliberate design flaw since both the Mako and Hammerhead had weapons.

I just played through the original Mass Effect again a few months ago and now I'm playing through it again and loving every minute of it. I am so glad that they kept the elevator rides in Legendary edition but am glad that the game loads super quick after the brief conversations or news broadcasts, always wished the original game had two convos or broadcasts to fill the down time now it's not a problem and they have a skip option during the elevator sequences for those that hated them.

Yeah DA: Origins and Awakening deserve remaster. I replayed it last year and damn what a good game that is and it didn't even feel that dated. DA 2 is strange cat because it has many good points and I loved that game but it felt like filler game for Inquisition. Still remaster of that game would be nice. The combat in DA 2 was best in the series.

I liked certain things about 2 like quests and companions and the ideology about the mage/templar hatred and the Qunari. That was the best parts of the game for me and Sebastian, I liked him. What pisses me off the most about this trilogy is that it highlights how far the gaming industry has fallen. We no longer receive vast, lore rich, enjoyable, single player games on this scale. It has all descended into multiplayer trash based around 10-30 minute matches/raids, creaking at the seems with lootboxes and microtransaction trash, all of which feel more like a second job than it feels like playing a game. And even those games which hold a potential to meet the scale and majesty of Mass Effect are dropped by parent companies because they do not have "recurrent user spending models".

Yet for those people who replayed the trilogy with all major DLC's multiple times - completly pointless purchse(especially on PC). Why I said that graphics didn't matter? Because it's about the journey and not the destination. Yeah we all wanted the ending to be a great payoff and ME3 failed at that but the journey was epic as hell and that's what we all remember. Pinnacle Station is the missing DLC, it was made and given away for free for ME2's launch. Basically, it was Time Trial Horde Mode, dosnt affect the narrative and only really useful for grinding all the way to Lvl 60, which is now an optional Lvl Cap in the remake. Oh, but it did reward you with a sweet apartment you'd go to once after getting it, and then never again.

@@Onihikage I'm not 100% sure I buy that story tbh. Seeing as it was a free DLC that was whipped up at the last second, on a whim, I think it may have been headed by a small team. My theory is, since it was a such small project it's source was never included in any of the game's archived codes. It was ether deleted, lost, or is sitting on an ex-employees hard drive somewhere.

I just beat Mass Effect 1, its my first time playing through Mass Effect i've only beaten 3 and Andromeda and overall its pretty darn great. The gameplay is really dated though but the story and characters are top notch. I only played 2 hrs of Mass Effect 2 and really like it so far and same with Mass Effect 3. Mass Effect 3 still has one of my favorite intros to any game. Can't wait to continue my Mass Effect journey.

As someone who’s never played the original 1-3 there are a lot of annoying bugs like the reticle not showing while on the rover or not being able to interact with anything because of a glitch but it’s super immersive so I don’t mind as long as it gets fixed in the future

I played them all before and I like what they did with the legendary edition. My only complaint is the auto save in ME1. When you really get into it, you forget to save. Then you die and suddenly you have some serious ground to cover to get back to the point where you died.

And I'm not so keen on supporting modern EA/BioWare that I'd pay despite the lack of value just to support them.

So far so good imo, i'm about 10 hours in. My only complain with ME1 remastered is it feels like a lot of that classic old school Scifi vibe is gone. The game is very "white." The original Mass Effect always had this permanent blue and dark aesthetic that called back to the old Scifi classics. Aside from that, I love all the other changes.

Games like that made me realize just how awful movies are narratively. They never take the time to develop the characters and they always bastardize the few good concepts they use for a larger audience.

I used to love BioWare in the 2000’s. I played KOTOR over 100 times in high school back in 2003. Then I found Jade Empire, and played the hell out of that game. Mass Effect came out around the time that I left for the Navy, and I didn’t know too much about it at the time. Here within the past few years, I’ve been wanting to pick it up but I haven’t. That is until I was browsing Game Pass on my Series X and saw the legendary edition, just chilling there, all sexified. Needless to say, I immediately installed the trilogy and two months later, just finished the 3rd installment. This has to be my all time favorite game series that I’ve ever played in my life. BioWare seriously knocked it out of the park with these games. Too bad that the 2000’s BioWare is long gone and under the yolk of EA, we’ll never see it’s like again.

Overall, having played the original series in it’s entirety, I would recommend this series to just about anyone who’s even remotely interested in it. TALI ZORAH SPOILER ALERT: As a huge Tali fan, I gotta say I’m glad they fixed her face reveal in ME3. Using the image they had in the original just wasn’t enough, so as far as I’m concerned, the new one in the Legendary Edition is now cannon.

You said 100 hours for all games, I’m pretty OCD about visiting every area and doing everything so I’m 10 hours in and I’ve only just left the citadel and arrived on my very first planet on Mass Effect 1. By the looks of it there’s like 7-8 planets and a crazy amount of areas, so I’m going to say easily 100 hours+ for me to even finish the first game. Btw does anybody know the exact number of areas/planets available to visit ?

Man I love this series so much and there are so many stories they can tell in this universe. I personally want to be a Quarian on pilgrimage, and kind of zoom in on one planet for that journey. But you can take it in different directions and gameplay styles as well. They fell on their face with the ending, but the framework of Mass Effect (the races, history, politics, and even the tech) are so well constructed.

I can at least remember one bug in regards to getting stuck with the Mako on planet surfaces, with the recall function bugging out. Not even sure this ever got really fixed in the base version.

In original ME1, combat still worked on the d12 d&d dice roll system. So even if you were confident you were not missing sometimes you just deal no damage. One of the things they removed from legendary. Now I just wish we could remove mouse acceleration to make combat feel even more responsive
