I am a South African and have suffered under white rule. But I am at home with my loved ones and tribe. My heart gets torn when I hear the African-American suffering so far from home, their loved ones and tribes. Our language and the love of Mother Africa has kept us strong. I cannot wait for the day when we can welcome our American brothers and sisters back to Africa. Most are skilled and can help us grow a better Africa. Its time to come back home and make it work.

Prison Convict Leasing. It's been a big business since the late1800's Alabama. Singer Sam Cooke was traveling and he saw a group of Black Men on the roadway, chained together and working hard. Just 1 correction for you Phil, the reduction in the number of Black farmers wasn't due to them not wanting to farm, it was due to theft & destruction of their crops & land, murder of Black farmers & their families so White men could claim it & sell it to another white man and false incarceration, leaving farms unattended with just women who knew little to nothing about the farm or the business. You may ask how do I know this? I know because my family owned farms in Oklahoma(still do), Missouri and Mississippi. My family owned farm in Missouri was burned out while my great grandparents, grandparents, father & aunt's & uncles slept in the late 1940's. They all escaped. The sheriff claimed the land and sold it to another white man. Even though my Great grandfather saved his paperwork that said he owned the land, the bank where he purchased it through destroyed the records when the sheriff asked them to & the town records showed no proof either. It was later discovered that the sheriff orchestrated the whole thing from burning the farm down to reselling the land but there was no way any court would side with a Black/Native American in Missouri or any other state at that time. Black/Native Americans didn't just stop farming.✊✌

This is 100% correct!! I was enslaved back in 2010 doing "community service" for 1 year due to a petty non-violent crime. I worked 40 hrs./wk at my regular place of employment and had to do community service Friday - Sunday and still had to pay bogus fines on top of that. Tell me that isn't modern day controlled slavery. People please stay woke!!
@2company3crowd636 жыл бұрын
You have no idea how many young men were arrested by police for drunk in public; petty theft; wandering; loitering; minding-my-own-business-but-Im-black; etc. The black codes where so horrific ppl were getting sentenced to these camps, normally far away from home, for like, 3-5 yrs!!! Drunk in your yard who wandered in the road could cost you 3 yrs. But some were not breaking any laws they were driving while black; shopping while black; walking while black, and they were arrested their families would think they were doing 2 weeks at camp or 2 months, but they would be sent to other illegal locations for years..literary worked till death. The most famous case i know of is the slaver who drowned his crew down in middle Ga. he was found to have illegal slaves, so other than being caught he drowned them all..but it was discovered any how. No justice however...your son just left and never returned..and when families would write out of concern they would pretend to have already released them and say they just didnt go home. Our history is sad.

That's sad, what a horrible life and death. I'm descendant from Mexico a state called Guanajuato where history about my people (indigenous) has been virtually erased. In modern times the capital city Guanajuato is a international tourist attraction for it's history, charm, and class just a wonderful city, but its history is very very grim, it is built in a canyon surrounded by hills which is dangerous because of landslide when it rains hard. It's also one the most rich regions in Silver and precious minerals in the world so basically the Spanish ran it as a slave town. The town actually got buried at one point with landslides killing everyone and the Spanish just brought in more slaves and built on top of the old remains, til this day you can still see in a museum the torture machines the Roman church would use on the slaves. All this while modern Mexico ignores all this history I had to research and find out by myself.

Yes you are so right, they are doing this in the prisons in New York, when you go to visit your love ones they will tell you that they are not receiving any visitors, that's because they were dead but they won't let you know that because they are getting paid for our love ones, these beasts are very sick and psychotic and wicked, nothing has changed they will always be our Mortal enemies

My heart bleeds tempestuously at seeing these relics of ENslaved African fathers, mothers, children, and infants, and at hearing of the 13th Amendment which tactfully but racially permitted the ENslavement of Africans to endure egregiously. God bless abundantly the (African) Melaninos and (African) Melaninas of the Earth!

I thank you a bunch for enlighten me, and I know that I am not alone. I did not know the conviction lease program. So slavery has never been abolish for the us, but the thought us to fight against each other so even we treat each other with cruelty. So sad.

Phil! I am SO happy you covered this...I was hoping you would. My body was literally shaking when I was watching the news in Houston yesterday. I don't know if anyone else was as emotional as I was hearing this. Unfortunately, this is not surprising, BUT, it gives more concrete evidence to the systemic supression of Black people in the US. My heart is so heavy.

The Most High is bringing all of this out. I will be glad when the curses that are upon us is switched fully upon them, so what they have done to us we can do to them. Father Yah, how long do we have to wait? When we leave from our captivity all the nations that enslave us will definitely become 3rd world countries and bankrupt...not only with finances alone, but with labor, music, sports, and everything in between. I pray for those chains on their necks soon.

This Convict/lease system, functioned until 1941, the start of the 2nd World War. Franklin Roosevelt, convened his cabinet to strategize a war propaganda program against Japan. He asked was there any embarrassing propaganda that Japan could use & a cabinet member informed him of the Convict/lease program, or the "Peonage" system as it was also called. Roosevelt, officially ended this system,, which started around the end of Reconstruction in 1878.
