Mass Kobo 475 Initial Impression: Im Blown away

A very initial impression is that it depends on preference hmm. Sound stage and a more airy sound (masskobo) vs a thicker and powerful sound (Enleum) some attribute powerful sound => better load handling but I don’t quite think that’s right.

Susvara does ok on the 475. It does get loud enough, but it does need more power.

You really need to try your Stealth on the 465 as well. Amazing.

Yup stealth is find unless you listen in ungodly volume. But probably not for anything harder to drive .

@@ZPProductions Honestly, the reason I like a closed back is that it cuts down on the exterior noise so I can listen at a lower volume. Open backs I need to listen louder out of necessity.

I recently came into a Mass Kobo 475 and Enleum 23RM. I also have the C9. I can't keep them all, at best I should keep two at most to cover a spectrum of IEMs and full size headphones. How would you compare these amps? I like the 475 but I've read that the Tsuranagi preserves treble and air better whereas the 475 bumps up the mids and adds a little color overall. What do you think?

Hmm I’m pretty sure mk475 don’t boost the mid. Infact is the opposite, it actually more laid back compared to Tsuranagi. Tsuranagi is really nice though. It’s technically a portable Ferrum OOR. I don’t have a the C9 but if you want me to rate for the other 3, Enleum and Mk475 then Tsuranagi. It’s about the uniqueness to me then absolute sound since many amps are really competent to produce that absolute sound. The Enleum in voltage mode is just so close to the Tsuranagi that I feel you can accept it as it is. If choose one I will take Enleum

The amplification used in this amp is very sensitive and amplify anything. So if your IEM is like say EA1000 with 127db/mw and 16ohm, plugged into the amp, you can hear noise like the screen refresh and your finger activating the capacitive screen. When using with very sensitive IEM, I have to off the screen. There can also potentially be ground loop just by touching other metal bodies in certain environment. It's really weird. If your IEM are not so sensitive, its ok.

Ha3 thought so.. Flaws in the system.. That's y im done with haedphones cuz its not as sensitive as an iem.. Btw.. My AudiophilesIEMendgameSystem which is classA 4 pentodes + deltaSigma dacAmp Just Fine.. Peace!

Naa.. My AudiophilesIEMendgameSystem just an extincted Q5S TC(dualAKM4493 which in RMEadi2 +dualTHX aaa78 as modular amps) +xduooMT604 classA 4 pentodes = perfect black backgrounds heavens.. IF i OTG.. same Q5S TC but + fc6 frm hiby yup worlds smallest r2r.. Welcome to IEM world bra.. No need Moolah towards endgames..just a pair of perfect pitch ears.. Peace3!

465 is rarer. 475 only took me a couple of weeks to get in the US from Mimic Audio.

yeah he only does a few 465 a year. But I have other amps coming in this period so maybe next time ahah.

@@ZPProductions This year he's done a few more 465s. A lot of people tried it at CanJam in Socal this last Sept so he's producing them as soon as he gets parts. I got mine a couple of weeks ago in black. It's really nice.

@@ZPProductions - I know a couple of people who have listed their HM-1s after they got their 465, they are on Head-fi if you want it sooner. One guy uses the HM-1 as a pre for the 465. Well, he uses the WA23 > HM-1 > 465.
