Very, VERY cool. So neat to see 'handycam' footage of one of the greatest machines ever invented - very personal.

Standing underneath those engines, and then all of a sudden you hear over a loudspeaker "We're go for auto-sequence start." That'd be a touch awkward. On the bright side, at least you'd have about 24 seconds to get the hell out of dodge.

So awesome, thanks! You need to get a nice wide-angle lens to help get more in view and calm down the handheld shakiness :)

Who was that random person at the end? She wasn't a closeout crew worker, she would have had a USA jumpsuit on.

So those 2 smaller engines on the orbiter, are those red covers just for show or are they actually covering the engine? It looks like it's made of plastic
@kepler2404 жыл бұрын
they are 2 orbital maneuvering engines which help push the shuttle into orbit after a heavy payload launch and also for the re-entry burn to slow the shuttle down. the covers are probably made of fiberglass
@DrumBum5614 жыл бұрын
@@kepler240 Right but normally they're not read and covered like that; so are these placeholders or just covers

Interesting video! After your picture got covered up, it all came together... your voice reminds me of Rodney Dangerfield's: ".... don't get no respect!"

awesome video, but for an astronaut, Mike acts like it's the first time he's ever seen the space shuttle. doesn't know which level he's at, thinks the entire stack is held down by 2 bolts, gets giddy when he sees the wing. he's staring at the main engines plumbing and asks "what are we looking at?" Seriously? Hilarious. Obviously, he's not the Pilot or Commander, but Mission Specialist is pretty nice to have one's resume.

If you can be an astronaut you can hold the dam camera still.

TheRabbitFear United Space Alliance (USA) was a Limited Liability Company (LLC), equally owned by The Boeing Company and Lockheed Martin Corporation. Formed in 1996, it consolidated more than 30 heritage contracts that supported the Space Shuttle Program. As of September 30, 2014, USA no longer holds active contracts and will not pursue future contracts. However, USA will continue to operate in an administrative business capacity to manage government contract close-out requirements.
