To become a Police Officer in a Massachusetts Civil Service Police Department (www.mass.gov/s...) you must successfully take and pass the Police Officer PAT. The PAT consists of several timed events designed to simulate the essential functions of the job and candidates must complete each event within the specified amount of time required. Ive seen various p.a.t.s and I must say that this one is definitely relative to what you would actually do in real life situations, takedowns/cuffing, footchases, and emergency lifesaving.

When do I run the 1.5 mile, crunches, and push ups? The website makes it seem like I do this PAT and the ELPAT in the same day. I’m confused.

PAT first. Then your run and everything else is on a different day about 1 month from your academy start date.

@@billylopez6091 no I never got the answer but u will tell you.. don't try taking the test wearing a mask. You won't take enough oxygen in to get through.. take long easy strides in the run and you'll do fine.. you can jog it with longer strides as opposed to sprinting

Where is the training for standing at a detail doing nothing? Pulling cars over for tiny infractions? Falsifying overtime ? Lying on police reports? Never seeing misconduct by a fellow officer...ever? Keep up the training 😂

Details are picked up by off duty cops for work crew and pedestrian safety. If they are standing there doing nothing, streets can be handled on their own with common sense. You speed on a work zone with plenty of notice, ticket. Falsifying overtime for details? Are you like over 50 or anti cop? Yet you and loved ones dial 911 when you need police to help you on your worst day
