4 second reload and 11km secondaries? Atlanta gets a 5s reload and orbital arcs with the same guns. And the lack of range and sigma makes her a very poor captain trainer ir even a credit grinding ship. In my opinion, wg should atleast giver her identical range to the alabama, otherwise this thing is simply a 60 dollar mikasa.

Flamu, problem with Bismarck is, ( and with FdG too ) that their 105s have only 1/6 pen. So Bismarck and Tirpitz without IFHE ( as you was maybe playiing most times ) would have not as fun time against this ship, cause their 105s with their only 17mm pen, will do lliteraly 0 dmg to you. Tey can damage only modules and superstructures on DDs and Cruisers, plus hulls on some really low tier or British cruisers. For more, you need IFHE too. Maybe its time to revisit Bismarck and test it in training room, what the diference will be with IFHE too. The 150s, as they were used as main guns on other ships, they are using the "1/4 rule" and they have 37mm penetration. Not the poor 105s.

Oh but I have. Yes, the Bismarck has secondaries, but remember the other benefits it has over this. 1/4 pen on half it's secondaries, higher speed, Hydro, better armour scheme, better sigma. The Bismarck is a more versatile ship all things considered and that allows it to be specced in different ways - one of them being a full tank build which I believe Flamu suggested in his later videos on the Bismarck. This however I feel will be a different story simply because it is a much more focused warship which is so skewed towards a certain niche that it may very well be the optimum build for the ship.

I don't understand the comments from everyone about the range being such a strong limiting factor in this ship. Idk, how y'all play, but I'm never relying on 20 km salvos from my NC, Iowa/MO, or Monty. They're just pot shots. The salvos that matter are the ones you fire under 16 km. Stop with the sniping ships. You're not helping anyone. Range isn't a big issue, accuracy is.

Flamu the german 105mm does not have divided by 4 pen it only has 18mm of pen so you cant penetrate battleship superstructure or tier 8 destroyer Hull armor Edit: Now when I think about it the german 150mm on the bismarck only does 1700 damage with a much slower 7.5 second reload... Man Bismarcks secondaries are becomming more meh :/ need IFHE to make 105's do damage

The German 128s and 150s do however, which are more common than 104s, at least on higher tier battleships. It's what makes Gneisenau such a nightmare secondary build even if you're only dipping into AFT/BFT for the anti-air build. Those 128mm guns are lethal.

The 104s are very common. Most of the Secondaries on Gneissenau (A), Scharnhorst, Tirpitz, Bismarck and Friedrich are 104s. The 150s they have installed are not the Secondary-Damage-Source (theoretically). So, if you not run IFHE on German BBs, you mostly rely on Fire as Damage-Source, nowadays outperformed by the Fire-chances of Richellieu, Alsace and Republique (even when I wouldnt recommend running more then a "passive" Secondary-Build on then.

Historically speaking, the (2nd) South Dakota class and the North Carolina class were both treaty battleships and carry the exact armament and both weigh in at 35,000 tons. NC's were 48.5 feet longer than SD's.

I don't know the stats, but WG drastically buffed it's secondary accuracy quite some time ago. Edit: Not counting the fact that Manual Fire doesn't do much at T4, I'm talking about raw accuracy.

Since it was the standard Wyoming accuracy before that, secondary accuracy increases with tier? My Arkansas gets up to 6,8km secondary range and can hit DDs at the range relatively well (without Manual Fire obviously), but I hardly play battleships so I don't know much about overall secondary differences between the tiers.

All ships got a different accuracy on their secondaries. I got 19.8% of hit ratio with my amagi (no secondaries upgrade used) but only 12.8% with the arkansas at closer range.

I have a secondary speced Tirpitz and I dont use it. I like my secondarys to shoot themselfes when they get the chance. And in the rare occasions when you have two enemy ships and each side and it looks amazing. Nothing more beautifull then a battleship shooting every single one of its guns at the same time.

If I get this ship, I don't think the reduced firing range won't affect me to badly since I'm terrible at shooting targets at range. Mid and close range is a little more comfortable for me.

I currently have a stealth secondaries build, with adrenaline rush. It is absolutely gross. I just got done with a tier 10 game and ended with Confederate, Dreadnought, High Caliber, Fireproof, and Close Quarters expert. Ended the battle with 2.2k exp. Could you possibly try a Massachusetts with Aux mod 1, Dmg Control mod 1, Art plotting room 1, Dmg control mod 2, and concealment mod. Captain skill- Priority Target, Adrenaline Rush, Basics of Survivability, Manual fire secondaties, Concealment Expert, Expert Marksman, and basic firing training.Could you try that Flamu?

seems great, but biggest problem I have with these specific premiums, same as atlanta or kii, is that you need a dedicated captain for it, eliminating their usefullness for captain retraining for regular tt-ships. reserving a 18pt captain just for one premium is a bit of a downside imo, but if you do it seems like a lot of fun :D

Wait - so a 40% dispersion reduction on the Massachusetts' secondaries??? doesn't that mean that with manual secondaries that give 60% reduction - you get a sum total for 100% dispersion reduction???... or is it multiplicative?? as in you get 60% reduction - of the current secondary dispersion (previously reduced to 40%, when compared to other USN BBs).

Still though - that still makes it 40% more accurate - than other full secondary build battleships - giving Massachusetts the most accurate secondaries in the whole game and is pretty fucking scary...

and dont forget the Upgrade gives 20% on top too. As you could see on stream he had like 40% Hitratio with his 2ndarys and he was mainly at long ranges...so this is kinda insane. Hydro isn’t 2 useful if ur dodging well. And the Mass has 66% of its firepower in the front. Tho the Bismarck is a tech tree ship and it should be better not equal. And I believe this ship is shorter and less superstructure. Also I think it has a better turning circle and it’s guns turn faster.

I have IFHE on my Grobe for BB penning secondaries for the lulz. Since this have much more accurate secondaries but less pen, I guess this ship's secondaries would truly be a DD repellent. Now the question is whether to get IFHE on her so her secondaries would work on cruisers....

Bismarck and Tirptiz are both good for sec build. That is the sweet spot. After that it's literally the same, but taking in the fact that you need to tank way more dpm, tank build is better after T9. And after the reload upgrade you get so much fire power anyways. I have my sec build commander trained for Bismarck and I switc it around in Tirpitz and even on my Scharnhorst. Maybe I would use my tank build on The Scharn, but I haven't bought the Wurst yet so I don't have a commander for it yet. But I ran sec build on the friedrich when I grinded it. 90k avg dmg and 61% win rate isn't that shabby.

Does this Ship has the same angels on the secondaries as the Trip ? I have alot of fun on Trip but the angels on the Bismarck are so much worse so its not the same on that ship. So i thinks its nearly the same as a Trip but with way better AA but no Torps, nice nice. I hate it when i found the prefect spot for covering the Cap with secondaries but youre dead because the carrier like you standing still next to a island....

Nevermind, I just read the notes.....that sounds fantastic... I try secondary builds on most viable ships, it might not be perfectly viable but brawling is the most fun you can have as BB player. My Bismarck, Gascogne, Alsace are all secondary specced...If they release the ship in this state then it's an instant buy for me.

So this is basically like playing a secondary spec Gascogne. You can't go in and brawl like a german because your side gets crushed but you have some tools and the secondary range to make it work from a still safe yet effective distance. I'm really interested in this ship now, I really liked playing a full secondary Gascogne for fun and this should be no different.

This is a kiting ship, plain and simple. Get within secondary range, angle away, bait them to chase you down thinking you're a typical US BB, and then melt with secondaries and close-range fire.

Hehe, flamu, don't forget how the RN CA Monarch has even less range than that, its only 18.1KM. Seriously, why isn't the RN BB line called "CAs" (especially monarch actually)? Just out of curiosity, say you wana meme build a stealth Big Mamie, How far down can you drop your detection range? I kinda want a troll build were I just pop up at 12km and start blapping the poor cruiser/DD that found me. This thing literally looks like it will play as a giant zone blocker for anything but other BBs seeing how it just withers away same tiered cruisers. It always had a spot in my Port (Shes named for my home state) But being a fun ship to play makes her all that much better.

Aren't these literally the same secondaries as the North Carolina and Atlanta's primaries? I know it's in the name of "balance" but it looks so stupid that they all act so differently.

Yeah, please make secondaries consistent with the corresponding cruiser guns. Why do my 15 cm Bismarck secondaries not have 16.5 km range?

Secondary ranges in this game are totally arbitrary as stated by the devs, unlike how it works for AA.

If you look at the 127s Americans used on their BBs your find they really shoot 16 km and their ships had full time radar. So even in this buffed configuration it's still a lessor version of reality.

Yeah they switched it around and powercreeped it compared to the Alabama now as I see it. Same ship but hey here´s some secondaries.

If I get this ship to go along with my Montana, Missouri, Alabama is there any reason to keep my North Carolina? If so, tell me why you think I should keep it. Thanks.

This is why I spec my German BBs into secondaries. Totally non-optimal but good enough and so much more fun...
